Yes Bab it is horrible, poor people living near the border. TV news today mentioned the first diseases (hepatitis, tuberculosis, and some virus thing, not sure what) and that we got foreign medical teams to help.

The only concrete thing I have heard was on the news today: a planeload of Albanians or Kosovars, not sure, were transported back home. It was also pointed out that activists in Germany are opposing this gov. decision, because "poor people" only have like 24 hrs to get packed and it is horrible to them as they have spent a year in Germany and it is tough on ther kids...bla bla bla. As if these guys are totally integrated and it a disaster for them to go home

I have met through this site a very nice, attaractive Brit, we went out a couple of times but he is a regressive leftist and that is it for me

I have heard the same. Our politicians are now saying the same, although to them closing the border mans tightening the control on the border crossings, which is way too little!

I have been warning about this for months now - there will be thousands stuck on our territory - they will not be able to go forward, going back will be out of the question, what can we expect? Riots, destruction, killing....but who cares. I am sure life and the co. will not feel sorry for us!

I was reading the papers this morning and in one a migrant was quoted complaing how cold it is in Slovenia and he added: we want to go to Sweden! Hahaha these people are incredible!

The situation becomes worser. today I saw on the tv journal thousands of "refugees" were facing the ice cold water when crossing a border river in order to reach Austria. They were brought there by.....buses and train !!! Incredible what they can stand in order to reach their goal. quote]

The video shows a mass of migrants ushered by the Croatian policemen towards the border with Slovenia. When the police left them alone some got lost and ended up in that cold river. The video is scary, someone mentioned ants?

As I grew up in former Yugoslavia it is Macedonia to me as this was the country's name when one of the Yugoslav republics. I do know about your quarrels over the name and yes you are right, their formal name now is FYROM.

Kaet have you heard anything about this:

A Czech doctor that works in a hospital in Munich talks about the problems and incidents, which are covered by the media at all:

- immigrants have AIDS, syphilis and exctic diseases that we here do not know how to treat.

- immigrants are very disrespectful towards female staff (doctors, nurses, cleaning staff...)

- hospital staff are constantly attacked and harrassed so that the police with dogs guard hospitals. An 8 month immigrant child died in one of the best children's hospitals in Germany despite all the efforts to save it - the parents had dragged this child through Europe for 3 months. The doctor and 2 nurses were attacked after s/he died. The doctor is undergoing surgery, the nurses are in the intensive care. Patients with AIDS and syphilis throw their urin on nurses etc.

- major pharmacies are also under canine police units' protection. If immigrants are given a prescription for medicine and have to pay, especially when it is given to treat a child - they become aggressive saying that children receive free medical care.

But by all means...let's transfer half of the world's population to Europe because the human rights specifically say: everyone is equal, therefore everyone is entitled to live in Europe, Western Europe, hm with the exception of Denmark because they are too stingy there, bad Danes, and now demand that everyone work.

Ooops is half enough? I am sure the do-gooders will disagree - the whole world then!

Australia has given a signal, Denmark has given a signal too - the result: migrants avoid these two countries or at least think twice before going there.
The European way (Merkel and Sweden in the lead) - they will come anyway, so lets invite them, lets not think about the consequences and we will be seen as the ultimate humanitarians.

Here is the link to an interview from Spiegel with one of the mayors on the border: he states that the situation is almost like a war. Migrants are given what we can give them, a place ot sleep, food, water, blankets BUT they are not happy, so they refuse food and water, set fire to tents and then take selfies in front of the fire (???!!!) - this is their way of placing pressure on the authorities to let them move on to Germany.

The mayor says: If Germany really wants to help these people, why not gather them here, put them on trains, buses and ship them off to Germany!

I completely agree with him! (sorry Kaetch, but that s just the way it is, if Merkel/Germany insists on "helping" everyone, then she should not put these people through suffering and destroy the other countries at the same time)

The funny thing is why have them all here at all? It must cost the state loads of money to provide for everyone before it is clear who can stay and who can't. Plus like Kaetch said to return only a small fraction of hundreds of thousands that came? Insignificant. But I guess we have to be happy that at least some will go back, if they don't disappear before that like the ones that have already vanished from the radar.

Funny that many people come up with these solutions while the politicians surrounded with an army of well paid analyists, consultants...cannot see farther than their noses.

And the flood does not decrease. It will only stop with 2 things combined:
- Merkel should publicly says that Germany will not accept anyone anymore, that illegal entry to Germany WILL NOT get anyone to stay whether they do need the protection or not
- the military is deployed on the outside borders of EU and uses force if necessary to return or repel whoever wants to enter.

Of course the hot spots ouside Europe should be established NOW...but EU politicians do not work that way...they "need" time.....to sink us all....to create a subclass of poor people who can be ruthlessly used by the capitalists.....to destry our culture and whatever the generations workd for.

Yesterday in Slovenia:

More than 12500 migrants crossed into our territory - in terms of our population this number would equal 1/2 mil people entered Germany in ONE DAY.

The country cannot provide food, water, accommodation for so many people. It is just impossible.

About criticizing: it is well known that in Stalin's, Stasi...times those in powere could say and do anything to their opponents, god forbid if they were the subject of criticism - tasting their own medicine was never good, right?

The cold river crossing was between Croatia and Slovenia. Croatia just tratnsports them near the border, their police tell them where the border is and they just go!

Only yesterday more than 12.000 crossed into the SLovenian territory. In terms of our population it is as if 1/2 mil entered Germany in one day!!!! Only about 6500 were then accepted into Austria. This is total chaos and no one wants to stop it.

WE ARE DOOMED!!!!

Thanks EQ. I have just heard on TV that Germany, Austria and the Visegrad groups countries have offered help in manpower to Slovenia. Hope it will not take them forever to arrive.
Things are horrible here, Croatia keeps on sending train/bus loads of people, they bring them near the border, tell them where to go and these just surge and cross into Slovenia.
There ar eso many migrans coming that there is not enough food, tents, clothes.... This is an apocalypse.

Dear EQ, I wonder if a referendum would stop this madness. Many people simply do not want or cannot see the connection between their own social state and the number of people from completely different culture. The referendum question would have to be very clear, e.g.

Do you want migration from ME countries or do you want to keep the level of social benefits?

Do you want Muslim migrants to keep their customs or do you think the state should set clear requirements, tick the ones listed below:
