You certainty will: we have a couple of Amazonians in the family, one says "Hej, älskling!" in a crow's voice. Very cute :)

Of course, I wish your vision to come true, warning about being cautious of what we wish for notwithstanding.

But boi, ain't you greedy for confirmation :D

A tire shop sound dull, but surely safer than a farm, given climate change and all. But it's your vision and there's at least some range in it :)

It's never exact as we plan it to be and one can't have it all at once. Now you have a career. I'm sure you'll find love eventually wine

Doesn't matter, going with the current is good too :)

I think they already have a bunch with the same theme, called Kardashians. But it'd be fun for you to join your own kin: the more, the merrier :)

"Runner's high" is the answer :)

When you grow up what exactly?

They make large balls of hay here and wrap it in plastic. No way to roll in it :(

So you envisage the world to be healthier and fitter in 10 years? A very noble vision and I hope it comes true!

As to your government letting you be... if you pay your taxis and abide the laws, why wouldn't it?

RE: Aliens announce they're ready to beam us up

They replace one man at a time :)

Do you pay taxes yourself?

Well... I feel glad that I don't live in your world. Are you sure it's all doom and gloom? And the more important question: is it them or is it you?

In 10 years

How do you envisage your life in 10 years? What would you like it to be? Are you doing anything for it to be what you like it to be?

Is your current situation any close to what you thought it'd be 10 years ago? Why not?

RE: Joe Biden met with Boris johnson

I think, that once upon a time Johnson noticed that he's dandruffy looks appeal to a certain type of the English voters and therefore he's maintaining it.

Obviously, there are women, who like it too.

RE: Is it acceptable?

I once saw a woman order a chocolate pizza. It was a pizza bottom with a lot of Nutella (or the like) smeared all over it, decorated with tonnes of sprinkles. You could get diabetes just by looking at it. Gross beyond believe. She ate it all.

RE: Is it acceptable?

Where do you get leftover pizza from?

RE: Why Do We Eat Bad Food?

You are welcome and I'm glad that you found it useful. The same Dr Lustig says a lot of what you said in your post in his another presentation from 2009 "Sugar: the bitter truth" and it also is worth every second. I checked and it turned out that our library has this book of his, but there's a queue, I put myself in line :)

But I don't agree that we are victims. Children, certainly, as they cannot chose and have to consume what their parents feed them. But the adults have choices. It's not that difficult to find information about what food is good for you and what's bad and why. Nowadays you can't put on a kettle without it telling you that you should eat more fibre and eliminate sugar. We cannot claim victimhood, only ignorance.

By the way, have you seen that somebody gave you a "thumb down"? Made my day :D

Restrict don’t allow

Well, no, my definition of restriction is exactly the same, as yours: you want something, but don't pursue it.

The difference, perhaps, in what I consider "wise". I'm totally at piece with sitting at my desk and working all day long, despite that the day is sunny and the wind is mild and I'd rather go paddling. (Oh, if only I could make a living by paddling daydream )

I do like my job, it fits me well, but on a sunny day it isn't my first choice. Though a wise one.

RE: Why Do We Eat Bad Food?

Here is a presentation by Dr Lustig, that explains quite a lot about processed food and sugar. Don't let the length (1 h 20 min) scare you: it's worth every second of your time.

Mikey, if I knew that the 'mercans would ache to participate, I woulda typed slower.

RE: Why Do We Eat Bad Food?

Non-greedy people have no power. They are not decision-makers. Very unfortunately for them and for the planet. If only they started to crave something. Like justice. And if only they cravings were strong enough for them to act.

Cravings for money on the other side...

RE: Why Do We Eat Bad Food?

Well... your microbiome decides what food you crave. Change it and you taste changes.

RE: Why Do We Eat Bad Food?

I've invested enough in my little spade quite early. Helps me dig my gold :)

Restrict don’t allow

Every wise choice is a restriction, wouldn't you say? Otherwise it would be allowing yourself something you know isn't wise. wave

Restrict don’t allow

On the other hand, there are situations when it's good to restrict yourself: like not driving after you've drunk alcohol.
