Okay, Lindsey. What would YOU have "us/them/WHOEVER" do? Would you rather somebody nuke North Korea off the face of the earth? Do you really think that type of response would improve anything? Or maybe you'd prefer that the US sent in some troops, and took their toys away from them! Turn 'em out of the streets, so to say. (Write off the UN. All they're gonna do is yap, yap, yap.) Are you gonna then complain about all our boys coming home in body bags, then? Say what a bad plan/president we had? And the only consequence would be that (MAYBE) there'd be one less boy with matches (for a little while), and you be giving free ammunition to everybody that wants to see us collapse. ANOTHER reason to hate the "freedom" hating Americans! The imperialists! The overbearing/over reacting war mongers! You know, we WOULD, and we WILL probably be better off if we DON'T rush in (like fools), where wise men fear to tread!

There's no such thing as a "test track"! You can "test" a missile. But the track is the track. Depending on the track, yes, it could/can be provocative! And I'm not sure whether you're saying that it defies logic that North Korea could/should DO such a thing! (But they've been doing this type of thing for a lotta years now, so I don't see it as surprising, or "defying" logic [THEIR logic, not mine!]). Or whether you mean that the firing being labeled an act of aggression defies logic!? Would you mind clarifying that?

A "ballistic missile track" is the path a ballistic missile is following. All a ballistic missile track is related to, is detecting where the missile was fired from, and where it's PROBABLY headed to. Tells you nothing about what it's "payload" might be. Or even IF it was carrying a payload, at all. If all you know is that something following a ballistic track appears to be headed towards Japan, from a location in or near North Korea, it's a little early to pull the plug YET! I'm sure that if an atomic bomb had hit Japan, from ANYWHERE, you wouldn't be able to AVOID hearing the news! So take a chill pill, everybody! More news at 10!

"I" LOVE your post! Personally, "I" think you're probably the most thoughtful/insightful and considerate/decent person, here! (Nary a "discouraging word", for anybody!) But I MUST admit to being somewhat "curious" about your aptitude/attitude for "slumming"? ME, I can understand! I'm a low life from WAY back! I've been in dives and hell holes around the world! But you sound like you've had a decent upbringing. Good schools. Competent instruction/examples. Been taught the "niceties" of "social" interactions. All in all, a member of the BETTER part/portion of humanity. Are you INHERENTLY this way? Or is it just your "upbringing" showing through?

Since when has the world been "fair", Dee? The powers that be certainly aren't going to raise your "pay", until they're able to raise their's 5 times as much! And certainly the politicians will get a raise! After all, it comes out of your pocket, not theirs! So why shouldn't they?

And, as far as your 3,000 plus homeless, in Ireland, I'm sorry about that. But I can take you to place"S" here, in greater metropolitan Los Angeles, where you can see 3,000 homeless simply by turning around, in one spot, and looking! There's no need to go wandering around the country. looking for them! And, yes, a large proportion of them are children! But what can we, you, or I, do? Our ever more socialist states can't/aren't/don't/won/t cure the problem(s). And "I" certain don't have the resources to create a job for all of them. And many of them seem quite happy with the state of their irresponsibility/existence! Not all, no. But many!

Would that have anything to do with the fact that most of the Irish red heads are the result of the Vikings raiding and raping Eire for all those many years, back in the day?

I only wonder because red hair doesn't appear to be a particularly Keltic trait. At least it's not particularly prominent or noticeable in any group/nation that has a large endemic Keltic population. Red hair seems to be more of a Nordic trait, especially the Danes.

I'm sorry, Molly! I didn't realize that such a simple thing could bother anybody so much. But sometimes, even as smart as I am, I'm pretty dumb! Sometimes I see the trees. Sometimes I see the forest. But rarely do I see them both, at the same time. I'll try to work with you on that. But I've been writing this/that way for a pretty long time, now. And I can get a little "excited", at times. So forgive me my lapses! They're bound to happen.

(No offense, but looking back, over what I've just written, it looks SOOOOO boring, to me! No life! No "Zing"! No nothing.)

Not my first! But ALMOST! But you're right, in a way. One of the reasons that I started this thread, is because YOURS has lasted so long! And has so many comments! I wanted to get an idea/feel for what interests people, in this joint! And I'm getting the idea that people LIKE to join in, when they feel "comfortable" with the idea that they can say something #1. About them. #2. Valid. #3. Safe (NON controversial)

In other words, pretty "normal" people.

But I've got THIS problem, Serene. #1. I'm NOT "normal"! #2. I find "normal" BORING! #3. I'm in need of CONSTANT "stimulation", intellectually. (Don't ASK ME "Why?" Don't know! ADD, maybe! But my "attention" has been "wandering" for as long as I've been cognizant of it!)

So, yeah. To a degree, I'm just playing around, right now. I'm SURE I could, but I'm NOT INTERESTED, in making/causing any BIG waves. At the moment, anyway. I just started this "forum" thing, a few weeks ago. And I'm getting to know a few people. You, among them. Curious bunch, in some ways. Obvious as a brick in the face, at times. And, at others, as subtle a a subliminal suggestion! Some people seem to just be keeping their "glibness" in shape. While others are actually "THINKING" about things. It (these forums) and you folks (the population of CS) DO, on occasion, make me think! Which "I" THINK is a GOOD thing.

I know I bore a lot of people here, because I'm NOT just a glib jiver. Having a good time, and making everybody laugh. I COULD be. But that's just NOT me. And I have LESS than no interest in being anybody OTHER than who "I" am. CONTRARY to popular belief, I'm exactly the same person, HERE, as I am, in person. Except I don't "talk" as much, in person. In person, I'm more of an observer. But HERE, you can't LEARN anything, get to KNOW anybody, unless you interact. And the only way to do THAT, is to post! So I post!

Well, enough. You're not interested in reading all my BS, anyway! But you're okay, by me, kiddo!

And I'm USING mine to TRY to make somebody ELSE'S idea (See! At least I'm WILLING to admit that the BASIC idea IS someone else's!) BETTER! I'm not quite sure WHAT "I" expected, when checked out that thread, but it wan't posts of "Peanut butter", or "Tea". "I" just don't see THAT, as fun, funny, or conducive to interesting conversation. Alright. I'll consider my use of capitals (et al), if you can offer me ANOTHER way/method of emphasizing a point, in written communication. It's EASY to do, when you're speaking. And "emphasis" CAN change the whole meaning/inflection of a statement. So emphasis CAN BE an important element in any attempt to "communicate". Which is the whole point of any discussion, written or spoken.

And I THINK you misapprehend me! I'm HAPPY to hear any side, of any debate! And I'm not concerned about whether you're intent is to sway my opinion, or not. I ALREADY think TOO much! I NEED stuff to think about! But NOBODY will ever change MY opinion, in THIS way! I'll listen to anybody's assertion. Then I'll think about it. AND, if I find validity in the argument, I'll modify my own beliefs, accordingly. But it's ME changing my mind! (And I DO do that, occasionally.) NOT anybody else! Because something has brought something unconsidered to my attention! So "I" LIKE debate! I think it's useful! And, although I doubt whether anybody here will believe this, MY ego ISN'T wrapped up in being right! (Certainly, I'll admit that I get EXASPERATED, sometimes. And I MAY get a little more sarcastic/contemptuous than I should allow myself to become.) MY main concern is to THINK, and PROVOKE OTHER PEOPLE to think (because "I" feel most people act and react, WITHOUT much, if ANY, thought), because I think the world I, YOU, WE live in, would be a better place, if people thought about what they were doing/thinking more. So, SOMETIMES, I'll even promote a view "I" DON'T personally hold, simply to provoke some reconsideration/thought about a topic. If you can tell me something that will get me to change my mind, "I" WANT to hear it! Now, I DO (also) admit to being "opinionated". Certainly! But I contend that WE ALL are! You, me, NOBODY would be able to function in this world, if they didn't hold an opinion, on most things!

But, as far as my chosen name, on this site, I think I can see where your mind went, to make that statement. And I have no problem with that. But the name WAS chosen, because it's the title of one of the poems I included in my profile. (Go read the poem, if you haven't, and you'll have a little better insight, into MY soul. There's NOTHING I value MORE, in this life, than a my "friends"!) And because I DO wish to include others in my life. Not that I'm NOT willing and/or able to "go it alone"! I can, and have! But I've also learned that coming to a warm and welcoming home, at night, after a day of fighting off the infidels, has MANY things to recommend it, over winding my way back to a cold, dark, and empty house, to spend the hours alone, thinking too much. I'll admit to you all, that, sometimes, YOU are my refuge, from ME! Sometimes I DO need to "escape" from "life", for a minute, or an hour. And I appreciate that you folks let me come here, and do whatever crazy things I need to do, for those moments.

ANYWAY, folks! Take one down! and pass it around! And PRETTY SOON, we'll have drunk up ALL the beer in this damn place!

I was just leafing through the threads, and happened on Serene's thread, Eat It. And my curiosity overcame my GOOD sense! So I clicked on it! Her "thread" was "Past the teeth! Over the gums! Look out stomach! Here it comes!" And it was a BORING thread! But I think the IDEA was good! But, INSTEAD of asking what the LAST thing you ate, was? I'm gonna ask "WHAT YOU WISH was the last thing you ate?"

I WOULD say "Serene"! But I DON'T think SHE would appreciate THAT! So, to keep this WITHIN bounds, I think I'll say "ICE COLD May wine, followed some good aged Swiss cheese, on a rye crisp cracker!" PREFERABLY on a blanket, in the Alps, on a late spring afternoon, with my lady's head in my lap, propped against a tree, and tousling her hair with my OTHER hand's fingers!

Whadaya think? What would YOU wish to "eat"? Oughtta be MORE interesting than "Tea"! Or "PB & J! Which was all I found, on the OTHER thread!

Alright! here's MY contribution to culinary DELIGHT!

First, ya gotta make YOUR sty;e of tuna salad! Put in in the frig over night.

Next day, fry up some bacon, nice and crispy! (SEVERAL slices.) Dry/drain. Set aside.

Then, take 2 slices of bread (YOUR choice, "I" like rye), butter opposite sides of each! ("I" prefer REAL UNsalted butter!) Heat up yer skillet, and toss on!

When the butter starts melting into the bread, put the cheese of your choice (Me? Smoked provolone! But if I'm feeling "different" - aged moldy Blue cheese!) on BOTH pieces of bread - GENEROUSLY! (Ya wanna SURFEIT of cheese!)

Once the cheese is melted well, and yer bread is getting "crispy", take them off, and put on a plate.

Put bacon in/on the cheesy side of bread! BOTH slices!

Pull yer Tuna salad out of the frig, and pile in, thickly!

Slice LARGE beefsteak tomato medium thick. Put 1 LARGE slice (or 2 small slices. Sorta depends on the SIZE of yer bread!), on top of the tuna.

Slap the OTHER slice of bread on top of the tuna covered slice, and have at it! A GOOD sandwich!
