I can understand the "goal post" narrowing! Because dating, like life, IS a learning experience! And you slowly LEARN what's NOT going to work!

If HIS country/area/people are SO GREAT, how many "scammers" have THEY put in prison? None, I suppose! Because their governments ENCOURAGE them to "earn a buck" by any method they can DISCOVER! (Legal, OR illegal!) Because THEIR economies can't provide for all the people they CURRENTLY have! (Not to mention the LARGE number they're ABOUT to gain!) If the Caribbean were such a "paradise", why does the average citizen have such a LOW standard of living? And WHY is crime and drug use so prevalent?

GREAT! I agree! There SHOULD BE "one law for all"! But has THAT state of affairs EVER existed/occurred on THIS world? Anywhere? ANY time? If so, let the rest of us in on this MAGNIFICENT nation/people! It's HUMAN NATURE that, WHEN somebody "accumulates" power, they start USING it! For better, or worse! (USUALLY worse!) And, since America/Americans CURRENTLY have the MOST power, they're going to be the one's EXERCISING that power! But just be glad it's NOT the Romans! Or Ghengis Khan! With THEM, you'd be thrown in jail (at the BEST), or beheaded (if NOT drawn and quartered, at the WORST) for voicing the opinion that their actions were wrong/bad!

America's NOT perfect! But it HAS a LOT to be said FOR it!

OH! And one OTHER thing! What OTHER countries "allow" (YES! ALLOW, because we DON'T "have to"! There's NOBODY/COUNTRY in the world that can MAKE us!) themselves to "pilloried", "castigated", "inspected", and "condemned" the way WE do, without USING the "tools" at their disposal, to STOP it? Yes! We're the "UGLY Americans"! But there's NOT a greater, or MORE important country on Earth, today! The world's knowledge is DRIVEN by American universities! And it's jobs/methodologies are the product of are products of AMERICAN ingenuity/entrepreneurs. Yeah! We've got the world's most potent army, too! But, IF we didn't, can you GUESS how long it would take SOMEBODY to decide that the United States was a plum THEY'D like to pick? MAYBE 10 seconds, I'm supposing!

Sure. We're NOT perfect! And we have a LARGE population that's more concerned about having Saturday afternoons to ride their jet skis, than they are concerned about the state of the world, and their fellow man! But do YOU think the people of YOUR country are ANY different? Or BETTER? No offense, but "I" kinda DOUBT it!

YOU wanna try our reprobates? Go for it, man! I, for one, would LOVE to see them brought to justice! But you CAN'T "try" a country, for the actions of SOME of it's people! And who HASN'T made mistakes? Sure, we've been the bully of the neighborhood, lately (thanks to some UNinsightful egotists). But I'd like to know WHAT other "country" has done MORE for/towards the overall benefit of mankind, than the U.S.? The citizens of WHAT country have contributed MORE to overall "well-being" on mankind (materially and knowledge-wise), than "Americans"? And tell me THIS! What the hell has New Zealand done for the world - NOT "lately" - but EVER? Oh! I forgot! You produce a LOT of wool!

Because, as the old "Miller Beer" billboard used to say, "Because we're ALL in it, together!" For better, or worse (depends on your perspective), WE ALL are living on a VERY SMALL PLANET! And we SHOULD have some concern about what our "neighbors are doing, BECAUSE it affects/effects US! Sometimes in ways that we can't even imagine!

YESTERDAY! Last year! Last decade! We NEVER should have joined, AT ALL! Do you KNOW, that by "joining", UN rules/laws SUPERCEDE US law? We have AGREED to abide by UN decisions, whether they conflict with US law, or not! By SIGNED treaty! WHY would an American DO that???????????????

But, even though it IS/WAS "poetry", I didn't share it WITH you, as a "poem"! But as a PHILOSOPHY of life/living! But I DO try to present "lessons" in an ENTERTAINING manner, whenever possible! So I HOPE you enjoyed it! But, MORE importantly, I hope you can "see" the "usefulness" of my philosophy! I THINK the who;e world would be a MUCH MORE PLEASANT place to live, if we ALL practiced such a philosophy!

I KNOW the quote! I just DON'T happen to AGREE with it! But MY thoughts run THIS way. We're BORN alone! (Well, MOST of us, anyway!) And we DIE alone! (AGAIN, MOST of us, anyway.) And, when we go to sleep at night (or WHENEVER you go to sleep) WE SLEEP/DREAM "alone! (Whether there's somebody [or 5] in the bed with you, or NOT!) And MOST of our acts, decisions, and assorted and sundry OTHER moments of life/living are done/lived alone! And, to get REAL basic, there's NOBODY BUT "YOU" inside your skull! Sure! You MAY share part of your PHYSICAL self/time in the company of someone else's PHYSICAL "self"! But that PHYSICAL "self" - IS NOT "you"! "You" live "ALONE"! INSIDE your skull! To say you're NOT alone, is to FAIL at recognizing the OBVIOUS!

You're WELCOME to "believe" whatever YOU want! But "belief" DOESN'T change THE FACT(S)!

I'm sorry, but I don't know/have a "sense" if you, yet.

But I THINK you're "ON the right 'track'", here! Yes. All ANY of us have, is our time! Plus whatever attitudes and abilities we pick up, along the way!

So, in the spirit of "SHARING", I'm going to explain MY philosophy (which SOME of the others have read, already), for you to consider as a "modus operandi".


Sharing A Smile

I seem to recall

That when I was born
I was dropped on my head

You're correct, Mercedes! (see my prior post) But it might do your "image" (on these posts/CS) some "good", if you were to "PLAY" just A TAD "nicer"!

I can hear you saying "Why don't "I" take my OWN advice?" And THAT'S a valid point! But, you see, "I" don't care how anybody perceives me! (Well, I DO, but NOT because of my CONFORMITY to "societal norms".) I AM, the way I am! And, at THIS late date, I kinda DOUBT that's gonna change, TOO much! SOME (MY qualifier) people can deal with that! And will accept my "IRREVERENCE", because "I" have something BESIDES "chit-chat" to say! And THEY find THAT interesting! So they'll tolerate my "bluster". And, since it's ONLY those types of people that "I" AM interested in meeting, and talking too, I'M free to act ANY WAY "I" want to. To ME, YOUR approval, OR disapproval, matter NOT AT ALL! I REALLY don't care! It's YOUR problem! To MY way of "thinking", it's YOU who are taking YOURSELF out of the possibly INTERESTING option of knowing ME! I'm NOT saying that I'm the ONLY "interesting" person here. What I AM saying, is that only THOSE who are "UNCONVENTIONAL" ENOUGH, to take the time to interact with a person - LIKE ME - are people that I'd LIKE to get to know! So MY "style" of "behavior", here, has a SPECIFIC "use"! And PURPOSE! I'm LOOKING for those people who can "see" (and be interested in) the person BEHIND the person, who seems to be UNCONCERNED with the "social" niceties!

I'm sorry, yubba! But "I" have to side with Mercedes, on this one! You see, I went back and read your post! And you OPEN your statement with "Women always . . .". In English, if you just say "women", with NO qualifiers, it is ASSUMED you mean ALL women! If you DON'T intend to speak CONCERNING "ALL" women, it is accepted policy that you INCLUDE some qualifier/adjective (such as "many", "some", or some other such qualifier) to declare that you're speaking ONLY of a specific group, and NOT the GROUP (in THIS case - "women", plural), in general! YOU failed to DO that! So, under general usage convention of the English language, YOU SAID "all" women! If you WISH to say what you MEAN, I would advise you LEARN the proper usage and general rules of the English language!

I'll admit that IF you fell off the 5th floor balcony, and lay dying on the sidewalk, "I" WOULD tell you you were going to be dead in 3 minutes! I'd take your hand, tell you the ambulance is on the way! And the docs are gonna get you fixed up, right a rain! So, YEAH! I'm a liar! But if you're wondering if I'm gonna tell you I'm working late so I can stop by Joe's for a couple of brews and a game of pool? NO! I'm NOT gonna DO that!

MY question is, Am "I" WRONG, to tell THAT lie? Life is a series of JUDGMENT calls! HOPEFULLY, we ALL do the best we can! But if "I" tell you a lie, you can BET YER RENT MONEY "I" have a reason "I" feel is sufficient, for doing that!

EXACTLY! WHAT'S the "need"? WHY would you lie to someone who couldn't affect/effect your life, anyway? It's only when "things" get a little "closer to home" that someone MIGHT start getting a little "jittery"! Unless they're just innate, habitual liars! In which case you BETTER NOT believe ANYTHING they say!

But "I" have a PROBLEM, keeping my lies straight! I KNOW this! So, just to keep fro making myself look ANY MORE stupid (than I do, NATURALLY), I just DON'T lie! If I have to lie to you, to keep you around, you're NOT a person "I" WANT around, ANYWAY!
