RE: ANIMAL TOTEMS

Ah thanks Sel. I've just read the stuff in the link and I can't say I'm anyways superstitious or anything but it certainly hit a few notes with me hug

RE: ANIMAL TOTEMS

Aww no Sel, that's not a pretty sight for sure. But take heart , if it's something that needed doing then once it's done and finished it'll be better hug

Assuming they leave it clean and tidy after themselves that is laugh

RE: FULL MOON ...

God..so you've actually experienced that Sel, now that's a definite wow. It's mad isn't how "in tune" us women really are..it's also really really lovely too teddybear

oops..I meant to wave earlier...I can smell dinner cooking and it's beckoning laugh

RE: ANIMAL TOTEMS

After that lockdown, there couldn't be a house left anywhere that needs paintinglaugh

RE: ANIMAL TOTEMS

I had a little robin here once...as soon as I set my foot out the door wearing my gardening jacket it would show up. It would sit right beside me on the wall as I dug and we'd take turns. I'd dig, s/he would jump in to look for insects. S/he'd jump back up on the wall and I'd continue digging..

It vanished after a really bad storm and I dunno....the hedge kinda lost it's appeal after that....

My friends told me that robins are believed to be guardian angels...Now that made me cry because that winter I was really really sad about something and.that little bird was the only thing that could make me smile...

RE: FULL MOON ...

Sorry Sel..not only did I misread you..I then took a trip inside my head and went off on a tangent roll eyes

No, I don't think the moon affects me at all...

But I was just reading what Jac said ..and remembered something I read about the menstrual cycle of women, who live in the same house, aligning with each other..and since the moon is considered a "she"...well....sure maybe she just wants to be one of us girls dunno

Awww moon....c'mere teddybear laugh

RE: FULL MOON ...

It's just dawned on me. The effect of the moon is it's gravitational pull. That's the same (effect) as the earth's gravitational pull that keeps our feet on the ground

There's a (mathematical) equation called the inverse square law and it's usually applied to the gravitational pull of gravity/objects..The further an object gets away from earth, the effect of the earth's gravity is reduced by the square of the distance..so if I'm correct (and I might be on the wrong track here) then it should be possible to actually calculate the effect (pull) of the moon our bodies...

Also, the moon's gravitational pull will be in opposition to the earth's pull..so there's proabably a little tug-of-war going on there and most of the moon's pull is going to be negated by the earth's (because the earth is far larger than the moon and we're actually standing on earth)...so what ever's left over (pull wise) is the moon's effect...

hmmm

Sorry that's probably a bit garbled..doh

RE: FULL MOON ...

That's certainly an interesting question Sel, and one I've pondered at times.

I see the effect the moon has on the Atlantic and it's tides here and given we're ..I dunno..is it 80% water? (I could be miles out there lol)..I've wondered too, are we subject to the same pull. Then again, we're so tiny compared to the ocean; maybe it's so tiny an effect it's barely perceptible....We're also designed to live on this planet and it's enviroment. Maybe our bodies are in harmony with the moon the same way it's in harmony with the earth's frequency so measurement of any effects would be nigh on impossible. :dunn:

I don't know if I'd be inclined to believe it affects our emotional/mental state though...I can be obnoxious, short tempered and/or sensitive regardless of where the moon is lol....

Maybe we should ask the man on the moon? laugh

RE: The Psychological Effect of Colours

I'm the same Sel, very tactile and sensory orientated..I wonder is that just a female thing?

RE: What are you doing?

Which reminds me...

RE: Cats (the thread for cat lovers)

RE: The cost of covid

I didn't like Iceland yesterday either...grin laugh

RE: The cost of covid

I bought stuff in Iceland once years ago...god it was vile, you couldn't eat it it was that bad...I thought it would have improved since then but I'm reliably informed by someone who tried it recently... and yep...still vile barf

RE: The cost of covid

Ah I live in too remote an area for deliveries, even if we wanted a take away here it's a drive to town...and back..

Everyone I know is saying the same thing,,that they're saving a lot because they're not spending...There's going to be some mad spending when all this covid is over lol...I just want to go and get some sunshine, eat nice food, sit with friends/family and have the craic... outside with lots of people passing by...chilled as ever lol..

RE: Overcoming Fear

Oh I always wanted to do that climbing...but I never got the chance. There's no chance of it now though lol..

Danger isn't always so obvious as hanging of a cliff face by your bare fingers...sometimes it can be something as simple as your own mindset ..or believes.

Fear can be a great motivator too...and be the essential difference between success and failure...

RE: The cost of covid

Oh Marks do nice food for sure. If I'm ever near one I always get some groceries and I love the little pots of prawn salad they do..yumm lol... The quality of their clothes seems to have gone down though...

I'm the total opposite of you, I won't shop unless I actually need something and then it's has to be something I really need. Granted, ever couple of years I'll take amad notion and spend all before and behind me...lol...

RE: Anti-lockdown protests: Three officers injured as 18 are arrested after clashes with police

RE: The cost of covid

RE: Time to say goodbye

Pedro! Don't tell me you bought a MO reg? God....you're brave laugh

RE: Someone spits in your face during a pandemic while disagreeing about social distancing.

Yep, people are people . I'm so sick of all this Muslim, black, women, liberals etc etc rubbish... Just because someone is Muslim, it doesn't make them a terrorist...just because a woman says the word equal rights it doesn't make her a lesbian..or whatever other stupid names they call her....it's just mindless stupidity. It's no wonder countries like the US and UK are coming apart at the seams...these nutters are getting too much air time..

RE: This is what I had for dinner tonight.
