Russia have Germany at their mercy, with 50% of there energy supply coming from Russia . Britain only get 3% , so you can understand Germany’s concerns in the event of sanctions.
I think the ordinary person on the street wouldn’t know about that , especially when they show the humanitarian catastrophe on all media outlets . They are trying to appeal to our humanitarian side , but the real motive of our governments is power & greed , for which we will pay a high price in the future . Cutting internet access is also pointless too . Many top businesses left & set up shop outside Russia as a provision.
So we are in agreement then . Putin made provisions for this conflict , but unfortunately, it took the west by surprise & it’s this uncertainty that’s caused the west to panic. Where was our superior intelligence . How did we misjudge the situation when we knew Putin was going to invade ?
Well , that’s my point . Russia has been virtually cut off from the west & without trading , how can than help us, when we rely so much on Russia for energy . If anything, it will affect the west more than Russia itself .
I’m not sure I believe all the hysteria that surrounds the possibility of a world war . Putin may have his critics, but we are not helping the situation by throwing fuel on the fire.
After reading how aggressive our governments have become, especially when we have no ethic ties with Ukrainian , I wonder if they really care about the implications this conflict will have on the ordinary people . Sometimes I question the motives by Nato.
I don’t buy meat or fruit from supermarkets. Apart from that , they all sell basically the same products at the same price , give or take a couple of pence .
Personally, I think Europe have miscalculated the affect sanctioning Russia will have on our own economies, especially Central Europe & in particular Germany, who rely on Russia for gas & oil .
The sanctions imposed on Putin & the Russian citizens will affect all the world . We already see energy prices hitting the roof & food shortages will quickly follow. So my question is .. Are these sanctions going to stop Putins ambitions, or have we shot ourselves in the foot ?
I , for one , wouldn’t like to find out , but if you’re willing to meet him in a dark alley & you come out of it unscathed, then you’re a braver man than myself .
That’s how people survived, or at least country people did . Shooting isn’t as easy as you think . It takes great accuracy & an eye for a small target . Some people go on a camping trip , with all facilities available onsite & suddenly, they are Robinson Crusoe
I don’t know much about their personal life , but I know they were big drinkers . I remember an occasion when Rodney Marsh downed over 40 pints of beer in a session .
He definitely made cricket more colourful. Shane had a love/ hate relationship with the “barmy army “ & I think both loved the banter , which is why he was loved & respected by all cricket fans worldwide, apart from his obvious talent.
RE: International Woman's Day.
Women’s day is a little dated now .They have all the rights men do , so it’s a pointless day in essence .
