This is an interesting topic. I have never been in the situation myself and I have read what you wrote about your experience. Here is my humble two cents worth:
I know that we are all human and make mistakes but I would hope(and one can but hope) that if my partner and I are having problems that we could have the respect for each other to discuss things BEFORE they got to the stage where one has to cheat. I would hope that if the relationship is coming to an end that we would be MATURE enough and RESPECTFUL of each other enough to part ways with respect and cordiality.
Problems and resentment arises when none of this happens, when sneaking around and lying, wheather to each other or oneself about the situation starts happening. And I would say this to any man I am involved with, if you must go then go with my blessings but DO NOT I repeat DO ATTEMP TO STEP ON MY DIGNITY! Do not lie to me if I ask you questions about it being over and then sneak around and cheat because it will not be pretty. I personally would not want to be with someone still attached to someone else. I refuse to go that route, clean up your mess at home then we can talk relationship. Handle you business first. I don't know that I have loads of respect for someone being involved with someone who is still attached but they are not the real problem. The problem is the spouse who does not come clean. Yes it will be painful, yes it might be nasty, but life is not always clean and tidy, people fall out of love but tell me, so that I can have closure and so can you.
If children are involved then one must overcome ones own personal issues for the good of the children. I will hold no malice as long as they are not abusive to my children and will teach my children to be respectful to them as this is really an adult matter. I will likewise not take it out any children they should have together, since it is not the child's fault that the realtionship ended.
I admire the strength you have shown on this issue, I am sure you did not come by it easily. It is good that you all have learned to get along.
A friend of mine in Jamaica introduced me to archaeology. She was doing some research on the Jamaican Taino culture(a native american group of people that once lived in Jamaica. I found them to be a fascinating group of people with an interesting culture so I adopted the name Tainogirl out of my respect for them.
well folks this thread writer is off to go cuddle my little one to sleep. Its nice seeing some humour return to CS, its been missing for a while. We ladies learnt a lot. Nothing wrong with a woman contacting a guy if she's interested. A lot of men run the risk of rejection everyday when they contact someone, its not wrong to want a lady to take a chance sometimes too.
