I agree, wisdom is something that comes to some with age. But if your unfair criticism of us "silly girls" that are young, and intelligent is a display of what we have to look forward to as we age, I'd rather be young, stupid and happy for the rest of my days.
I think you should have some respect for your elders. We lead happy productive lives I will have you know. I myself enjoy bingo and crochet very much. I am also lucky enough to live in an area with an abundance of rugmaking classes. Also ...we auld ones love to pout at the camera...sure it is a great way of hiding our search for the dislodged dentures
I got chicken pox when I was 23. I was working as a babysitter and the kids parents took them to the doctor and he said...whatever you do .....do not put calamine lotion on as it only makes the itch worse....I had been using it and it did not seem to help, I seemed to improve as soon as I quit using it but I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to a lot of stuff. Would go for the alternatives mentioned by people on this thread..Hope everyone feels better soon
Hey listen...it wasn't like I accosted anyone or anything Oops...then again I might have done that in the Naughties....ah what an appropriately named decade
I love them.... they remind me of My Grand Aunt Molly... She was about 104 and I was about 4 and she always gave them to me... Well she probably was not that old but sure you know yourself when you are a kid..everyone is ancient
So is there anything that reminds you of people or places?
Dont mind me....just a wee bit bored How important is Grammar and Spelling to you? I only have basic Grammar and spelling but sometimes bad grammar and bad spelling bugs me. I am not talking about CS but in your daily life..does it annoy you if people have very bad grammar and spelling especially if it is work related? Does it annoy you if people use abbreviations and text speak? Just curious

Glad to hear that you got good news. Everyone else..enjoy your cocktails.... Oh yeah, Nuala...afraid to ask but how is your injury healing up? I will be popping in and out of this party Aimee...so dont want to see any misbehaving now....
Couldn't imagine you being a Sarah Jane I think when you get to know people, a lot of the time their name suits them.. So how are you getting on Sarah Jane wannabe
Do you like your name? Have always thought that Mary is quite boring....no baby name books in the dark ages when I was born...no offense to other Mary's Then again, I would prefer to be called Mary than Apple or Satchel... Hello everyone, as you can see I am given over to profound thoughts today
Hey there engjay...nice to see you back, hope you will not abandon us totally now....and it would be nice if you and your other half could make it to a meet sometime. Have a great weekend
lmao....are you not pouting in your pic Toodles Just slagging ya...yeah some of the pouting pictures can be a bit odd but some of them are quite funny...think botox overload swollen lips... I just think that some of the ultra posed pics are very false looking and since I dont like false people it puts me off.JMO Then again I am sure people look at my pics and think....what the hell is that... Katejen your pictures are very nice so I wouldnt worry about what people think
Ah sure I was just droning on I work with adults with intellectual disabilities.. I have heard horror stories from years ago. Parents were encouraged to give them up and put them into institutions. Many of these children were functional and could have led somewhat normal lives but the feeling at the time was that they were lesser people and they were basically shoved into places where they became so institutionalized that any potential they had was lost. So glad that things have changed somewhat...and with people like you working with them Holiday, I would say that they will be able to have a bit of craic Sorry for temporary hijack of original thread
I agree but to every situation there is often a reason. People give up children that dont have special needs also. Possibly some people cant cope when their child has some form of a disability. It can be very frightening I am sure and maybe some people just feel that they cannot give the care that is needed. Luckily nowadays there is a great support system in place for parents of children with special needs. There are day centres and respite is also offered so that parents can get a break. Possibly the reason for giving up a child is the same whether the child has special needs or not. Some people cannot cope or are not in a good place in their own lives. Maybe they do not have family support and feel that they cannot fulfill their role as a parent. I do see your point Holiday and I would think that it is very sad that a parent would give a child up purely on the basis that the child had special needs and for no other reason.
RE: im back...LOL
Well sounds like it is time for a Belles Spelles nightCan you come up with anything for the dentures...have to sort out my pout lol
