I don't think I get emotionally involved (?) but I love what I do and I'm grateful to have the opportunity to work with people who have faced so many difficulties in life, they're so brave and I take my hat off to them

The organisation I work with has a psychologist on board and it's mandatory that staff attend a monthly session with him, it's a debrief basically, which is brilliant as we encounter people from all walks of life, often in dire and confronting circumstances

I don't think so really if you're working with people who have special needs, how can you not care

I'm engaging with them and building relationships, they share their lives, fears, hopes and dreams with me ... it's humbling

As long as I'm working hard and doing the right thing by my organisation that's alright isn't it

Here the charity shops are way overpriced

Goods are all donated, ie secondhand, yet the prices are so inflated that you find yourself walking out as brand-new is the same price or cheaper

I guess the profit goes to administration of these stores, seems the original purpose is lost.
