Lame duck here is referring to an elected official who is approaching the end of his or her tenure. He is not the law maker here (that's Congress's job) nor emperor.
His primary job is to protect this country and to execute and enforce the laws made by our representatives in Congress.
I will agree with you about his intelligence. He is smarter than me for sure, and a better bloviator too.

President Obama is presently bloviating in a speech addressing his actions here. I wish the president would admit Harry Reid has stopped bills on reforming immigration and really enforcing the law a reality.

I'm not totally disagreeing with you on this. But, illegal labor, as I mentioned in a previous post, is not used here to produce the cheaper corn, as their labor is used in less mechanized agri business does. Competition is competition.

If president Obama wanted to do something that really helps Mexicans here and at home, he would stop the subsidies. Right now he is simply using the illegal immigration issue selfishly to keep his lame-duck self in the spotlight.

Mexico has been the number 2 importer of USA corn, just behind Japan. They bought over 1.5 million tons of it ex. in 2012. And that's not used as chicken feed.

Hey, epirb. I agree with a lot of what you present here and I thought amnesty was an answer at one time. After all, a lot of the illegal Mexicans here have been and are victimized by both of our governments.

I believe it is true that the mega-farms here can produce and sell yellow corn there far cheaper than Mexicans can grow and market their own corn there.

However, these U.S. mega-farms are heavily mechanized as compare to some agri businesses which are heavily infiltrated with illegal immigrants to make production less expensive.
