Besides weapons, USA has a great and big crowd of scientists and technology developers -public and private- not comparable to any country yet their resources -for the public entities- might be limited this term.
Unfortunately, education in USA is very expensive even the one from State universities and many people can not afford it. How do you expect people to be educated?
Now, some educated people can be deplorable, though.
But weapons have to be paid for and in that, other parts of the budget get limited-reduced and the people might not be happy about it. Besides, we are all connected -regarding to economics- more or less and I do agree with you on the: they better "wake up" before they go downhill, because we are going to.
You already know people and their behavior (including mine ) their banning you should not surprise you.
there are people that will post day an night with their same verbal diarrhea and with not prof or facts to support it. I would not waste my time with them.
In any generation (old an new) there are people that produce wealth and others than not. To generalize, one whole generation in one stereotype is just inaccurate.
in past times, It was more normal that people worked as a "dog" you get paid for what you do. Now people can be "elephants" they can get an income even if they do not work (like from intelectual work, investments, speculation, etc..) not easy but possible.
so, do you work as a "dog" or as an "elephant"?
This time, finding a job/being productive....can be more difficult for the young people even if they are well prepared because the competition is worldwide.
If powerfulness is measured by money, then he might be the most powerful man on earth. It is believed that he holds a fortune well above the richest listed by Forbes, higher than Gates and Bezos together.
