who do you admire

I admired a man a few days ago an older gent had tall shrubs in this front yard. he had to be all of 70. Ya see him and his wife live alone, kids up and relocated out of state. Hes not that agile, but I observed and admired even envied this man on this particular day.

He defied nature. Shook his fist at it and went after that that his wife enjoys the most these days. The wind was whipping around much like that of a little tornado within his yard. But damn, he did not give up tryiing to capture what the woman of his life enjoyed,
yeah you guessed I admired an old man chasing the local paper blowing around in his yard he did it not for the exercise or to be seen as the town baffoon but he fought the elements of nature just so he could give his wife her morning paper..... I admire him too because thjis woman wants everything her way and I just know despite the work he put into recapturing the paper, she'll berate him, because of the condition of it..... Still he did it, even knowing what the outcome would be for him.

some poets say love is blind
some lawyers say love never last get a prenupt. i am going stand in the middle of these two sayings

love can conquer all even an over zealous bride tobe and all in all when you make that tour od duty over there do not put her on any of your legal documents that includes insurance.

Finally all the happiness to you to crazy kids some, no many have made it on less. who knows maybe thats what you need is a take charge kinda woman to bring fulfillment to your life.

RE: Is There ever a reason to keep a secret from your partner??

I must havce a misconception on what kind of secret you all refering too. As much secrets has a bad connotation. friendships pleasant surprises gifts celebrations are impossible without them. and theres the for their own peace of mind. withholding things that would only cause them physical stress and grief. maybe i am on the wrong definition of secret. but I still say they are times when its acceptable and expected of good lovers and mates

RE: I told a woman in Florida I was in the Army. Now she wants to get married before I go to Iraq!!!

somebody did not listen or answer decisively... and abracaddabra
You are now getting married. Without ever tasting her cooking.... or those other things that married couples do for one another.

Look at this way while in Iraq you can read about the wedding and reception plans lotsa mail at mail call.... maybe have her send samples of the food to taste. Another good point you can go ahead and give her your measurements for the Tux cause few service men gain weight over there. ...

RE: Is There ever a reason to keep a secret from your partner??

there will always be reasons and heres the kicker,
as any relationship grows and changes with time the reasons to keep a secret will too.

hello neighbor

a definition of globalization anyone can understand:

What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Answer: Princess Diana's death.

Heres why,
An English princess

riding with her Egyptian boyfriend

crashes in a French tunnel,

driving a German car

with a Dutch engine,

driven by a Belgian

who was drunk on Scottish whisky,

followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,

who were riding Japanese motorcycles.

Di was treated by an American doctor,

using Brazilian medicines.

This is sent around by a Canadian,

using American technology,

and you're probably reading this on your

computer that uses Taiwanese chips,

and a Korean monitor,

assembled by Bangladeshi workers

in a Singapore plant,

transported by Indian lorry-drivers,

hijacked by Indonesians,

unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,

and trucked to your retailer by Mexican illegals.

That, my friends, is Globalization.

Dividing Pecans

On the outskirts of town, there was a big old pecan tree by the cemetery fence. One day two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts. "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said one boy. Several were dropped and rolled down toward the fence.

Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me." He just knew what it was. "Oh my," he shuddered, it's Satan and the Lord dividing the souls at the cemetery. He jumped back on his bike and rode off. Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along.

"Come here quick," said the boy, "you won't believe what I heard. Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls."The man said, "Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk." When the boy insisted, though, the man hobbled to the cemetery. Standing by the fence they heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me." The old man whispered, "Boy, you've been tellin' the truth. Let's see if we can see the devil himself."

Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of Satan.

At last they heard, "One for you, one for me. And one last one for you. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence, and we'll be done."

They say the old guy made it back to town five minutes before the boy.

RE: When in a relationship,

how far along is this relationship? year one, month one?

RE: new topic

it has it place even if both lay claim to not being religious.
I say I will accept her right to believe what she wants and I'll get the same and if nessasary will alternate on holidays as to which service we attend.

Course I'll usually pick NASCAR on my sunday or some sport event.

RE: Mental Illnesses

this may sound selfish to some but ones medical state/condition, mental or physical, if not contagious should remain their own business.

Too many that insist on "complete" honesty usually have more skeletons in the closet than a Halloween store.

keep your medical history personal, it is yours to decide when to reveal

I try to picture someone telling me on the first date "Oh, by the way I have ........" I'm not sure how I would react, with smypathy, awe, or just like wow and unload a bunch a questions about it. guess it all depends on how I am told....

I honestly think too many that insist on "complete" honesty. usually have more skeletons hidden deep in the closet than a Halloween store.

RE: Holy Mother of Moses...

that could be a most interesting night of threads a the forum.

A drunk posting night maybe start each thread with a warning"DPI" (Drunk Posters Invited) so as not to offend those faint of heart or are easily upset.

yeah I like that idea, least ways you'll know who you are really talkin with.

RE: There is nothing in the world harder than dating!

I've learned long ago just using the internet to get dates is follhardy at best. But, on the positive side you can use this internet experience to learn what it is taht appeals to women in the sense of conversations and topics. I I ask at least 2 woman a week who I have met or seen regurally it suprising how a simple acknowlegment can open to a conversation. but expand your venues captain, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with falling in love at 90, but... lets not go looking that far ahead.

For me it is August and i have had afew dates this year. and I'm still here. maybe my standards are to high or maybe theirs were.... rolling on the floor laughing

either way that is a 300% increase from the action I was getting last year.

Good luck to yahandshake

RE: should the world be doing more to help the palestinian people

I've learned to spell their country correctly and even researched their peoples history what more should I be asked to do???

I feel the same about many of these of "new" nations( right).

Their history with one another is over 100 times longer then United States.

I often wondered what is the longest period that region has gone being at peace. the whole region is and always has been a powder keg.

anyone?? whats the longest peace accord between all middle eastern beliefs and sects and Ok countries?
