Doc replied. “Catch-22. Anyone who wants to get out of combat duty isn't really crazy.” There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind. and they could be grounded. All they had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions.
the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 “It's the best there is,” don't ya agree
Mitchell saying he wasn't really insane brought this to my mind ... Pertinent or not to the OP intent, I had to share "Catch 22" with those who have not encountered it yet.
simple truth is there just are not that many bedwarmers advertised online these days. Felt a need to get out and do a more local intense searching winters coming and the price of fuel being what it is.
depends on what they shopping for... hitting every shoe store in a mall and trying on 5 to 8 pair per store, hten returning to the first store to purchasre the first pair she tried tells me one thing she is thorough, and unless she is wiling to hit 15 junkyards to shop for a part for my old clunker then No she won't walk my stores I will not walk hers...
and actually junk yards shopping is more interesting then shoe shopping
reason for not showing up for a online date..system malfunctions, work called family called, dog got a away, and these are only the" harmless not serious" partial list.
I know i can text e-mail on my my cell phone. but have never done it. phones are better if thats a choice you and him have jointly made via internet only then expect slight inconveniences.
if the conversations gave you enjoyment at least hear him out. After all it is only sharing thoughts opinions and laughter.
cyber clues?? a yes person, someone who immediately proclaims undying adoration for you... I've yet to learn any others
better to call a reservists that has been trained then call on young inexperienced boys.
despite what the posters say the military life is not for everyone. those types need to be weeded out.
not everyone that enlists is sent to the front lines
not everyone that is drafted gets sent to the war zone.
bring it back so we can have an abundance of trained military if ( maybe i should when) the need ever arises. we are ready and most important we are able.
I just don't see myself developing a relationship via this format and then travel there for 24 or 48 hours for a quickie 3 or 4 times a year... its not my style or on my profile of lifestyles/ relationships I prefer.
A woman can be selective and still its easier for them to get laid then with men.
a step further I would say most women want to be ask not do the asking so based on that, men can handle rejection and refusal better than woman.
it is definitely easier for a woman who is not selective, than for a woman that is, that rules holds true for men as well but this is a gender issue but women indeed can get laid more than men.
course I'm sure here at CS some men will publicly disagree with my opinion.
long before you "gamers" where motorheads football baseball hockey fans, hunting, fishing.... Yeppers all these at one time or another if you was into them you where classified as "Oh you're one of those"
never totally give up your sport or hobby for the love of another ..never never never you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
good luck with your search those games still have a "pause" button?
there are many variables why one may have to wait. and the that list continues to grow. from staffing to current stability of pateints throughout hospital even surgeries being performed currently. I'm quite sure had you been bleeding or a severed limb or a stroke or heat attack. the response time would've been drastically reduced.
I would check your billing statement closely when it arrives from the hospital. very closely. mistakes happen shift change alone can causes double billing if not for extended services. I know of a case where just because of 2 numbers being reversed was bill for a surgery they did not have.
men are heartless ,women are naive. On how many levels is this statement wrong?
All I know is a LTR , I am guessing this heartless man was making promises long before you agreed to moved in together. afterall this was a LTR. but if he just started making promises to your son ...Bells should have sounded off in your head.
Finally, 9 year olds are resilient, yeah I can only imagine the promises thqt a full grown childish man would make to a 9 yr. old. Your son will recover, probably quicker than you.
Consider taking the bullet on this one, tell the kid it was your fault... all your fault the man is gone... much in the way a mother throws herself in front of a car to protect her child.
Another option, allow the guy to make good on his promises. even if its only to attend a game or build a bike. thats the hardest part I think of being a single parent.... when LTR's go bad, the child's freindship with an adult is usually the one that get forgotten.... by both the adults who attempted the LTR. A sad thing and unnessasary.
I hope you can find a path to explain honestly what has occured. to your son.
Rejection is such a "hard" word. When describing having a strange woman refuse my attentions and invites, I prefer to consider it a design flaw on their part . Thus the use of word "strange"
that word "REJECTION" is a powerful negative word.
How I try not to respond howI try to omly respond to those flowers and letters ... How I have failed but thats anothetrs thread entirely( please remind me when I overstep).
to adhere to your request.... (no politics) all I 've read is about the weather, fall colors are great even super fantasic. still the trequest tremains reaminas talk discuss about anything but "politics".... Here it goes with permission of the the OP.
have you ever noticed the main list of ingredients of the food products you buy?
how about this .... the last 3 people you felt where intimate with.... wwhat was your state of clothing, demeanor?
how about when was the last time a child (under 18) disagreed with you and after some time you realized they where right right?
how do you personally deal with being .....
wait for it.......
patience.... wait
its coming......
how do you deal with being wrong?
Ship, I think these are questions that do not involve "politics"
But boy,(I sure could voice opinions on all of these.)
yeah, time for me to call it a night...but i figure I'll have something to give me a laugh with my morning coffee with reading the responses of this thread come 4 am.
I'll go along with that if you add tis on the proposal.. out law all off shore accounts. none of this my money is in another country you cannot tax the interest crap. or make it so those with a 35G's annual income get tax free accounts
first and most important this is a "what if" thread a thread of fictious possibilities...
that said.
in this fantasy/fairy tales we needs a monster... allow me to introduce it... congress put together such a all encompassing proposal that includes reformed deductions reformed tax liabilities and enact a flat tax all in one bill, one vote to change everything... theres the "monster" for this fantasy tale called Flat tax..
