Yes, the universe is amazing and there is so much more to know about, and how we think we on earth are unique and there is no life anywhere else is a laughable matter. Any and all sorts of life could exist or could have existed. Mind-boggling to say the least isn't it?
Lol, I was so engrossed in reading about Vicks that I forgot I was only supposed to be on the computer for 3 minutes while the frankfurters were simmering for a pasta salad. You can guess what happened. I smelt burning from the kitchen, opened the kitchen door and it was like dense fog. The pan had boiled dry. So much smoke so had to open the window and put the extractor fan on. I will need another pan now as I only have one pan left and it is not a non-stick one!
Oh my goodness- I haven't heard that in ages. I used to love that one - having listened to it still do. You got a thumbs-up from me. Thank you so very much!
I know, it's so depressing. I literally was crying almost every day last winter which definitely made me realise I have seasonal affective disorder as I was fine when the evenings and mornings were lighter. I bought a SAD lamp to use for this winter and will start using it probably around September. Apparently they help people. I always felt bad during the winters but last one was particularly so for some reason. Even now I am looking at the cloudy sky and feel down, whereas if the sun comes out later I will feel fine. I am probably very sensitive to lighting conditions.
I'm emigrating this Xmas, but disregarding that I am certainly not happy in London. Don't get me started on why!!!
Given the choice I would have a nice home in or around Bournemouth or perhaps Brighton or Hove actually!
Are you good at preparing for Xmas in good time or do you leave things for the last minute, bearing in mind everyone complains that retail outlets start selling Xmas goods in September (or earlier).
I would post on them more but get lost in keeping-up with where I have posted. How do you keep track other than create a new tab for each of the threads, given that of course at the end of the day when you shut-down your computer you have lost track.
I have recurrent memorable dreams that happen about 2 or 3 times a week. They involve trains. Either it's a (London) tube train that I am waiiting for on the platform but it is strange-looking and doesn't stop for passengers to get on. Or I am trying to find the platform for the line I need and am wondering through a myriad of passageways in the underground station, (those of you who know about changing to a different underground tube line will know about that). Or I try to get on the tube train but the step is too high and I can't get on. There must be something deeply psychological to all this - probably a simple explanation.
Have you ever cooked for someone or for a dinner party and said what you served is home-made but it was in fact bought?
The US breathed a collective sigh of relief today following President Obama’s announcement that the nation’s application for a loan from online lender Wonga.com had been approved.
‘The site was really user-friendly and made getting out of debt by getting into even more debt a doddle,’ said Obama. ‘The green undulating fields and cartoon butterflies at the top of their homepage made me feel immediately at ease, plus they had this cool slider thing that went all the way up to $2,400,000,000,000 – which was handy. They didn’t even seem bothered about our credit history.’
The deal comes after a night of fraught discussions between Democrats and Republicans around the White House kitchen table. ‘Hillary Clinton was writing down ‘what we’ve got coming in’ and ‘what we’ve got going out’ on the back of a manila envelope, but we quickly ran out space for all the noughts,’ continued Obama. ‘Then we went online and found Wonga.com. Their guaranteed instant decision and 15-minute payout was just what we were after. I’d certainly recommend their service to any other struggling superpower.’
Wonga are delighted by the deal. ‘We usually specialise in small-time borrowers who need that little bit extra to help make ends meet until payday. But anyone can experience cashflow problems, and it’s just good to be able to do our bit for the world’s largest economy.’
However, many in Congress and the House of Representatives are said to be furious after checking the smallprint and finding that Wonga is charging a typical APR of 4,214% on the $2.4 trillion loan. ‘The main thing is that we now have the money to stop us defaulting on our debts,’ said Obama. ‘Our credibility would have been in tatters if we couldn’t keep up our repayments to cash4u.com.’
By the way I know what you mean about UK tv but there are some posts by Phoenix here on the following link that explain how you can access UK tv on your computer.
The 9,000 Jews that were forcibly removed from Gaza in August 2005 looks like they are finally getting some compensation. I know you said the disengagement was a good thing ttom, but it has caused so much trouble for those 9,000 people involved.

Gush Katif families preparing new homes
The Cabinet voted Sunday to approve a 300 million shekel agreement that ends the claims for compensation by evacuees from Gush Katif and Northern Samaria.
The government stated that the agreement "will allow for the completion of the evacuees' moves to permanent communities and their embarking on a new path. All community representatives, business owners and farmers in Gush Katif have signed the agreement."
The issue of compensation between the Government and the evacuees has been simmering for six painful years, since the implementation of the "Disengagement Plan" in 2005. The "Disengagement" was the euphemistic name given to the process in which close to 9,000 people were forced out of their homes when Israel withdrew unilaterally from Gaza and Northern Samaria.
According to the agreement, the evictees' compensation for the homes they were kicked out of will be 7-11.5% bigger than the sum previously allotted.
Agriculturalists who had land in Gush Katif and have not yet received alternative land will receive additional compensation of 400,000 shekels or a monthly payment of 3,400 shekels for 13 years. Alternatively, they will eligible for agricultural land of up to 40 dunams (about 10 acres) in accordance with the previous rules.
Also approved by the Cabinet was the closing, in mid-2013, of the Tenufa Administration that deals with the claims and problems of the former Gaza settlers, and the transfer of its responsibilities to the relevant ministries.
The agreement was achieved between the sides following accelerated work by the Tenufa Administration, led by Prime Minister's Office Director-General Eyal Gabai and Gush Katif Residents' Committee Chairman Doron Ben-Shlomi.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that a human tragedy which had continued for years had been brought to a close today. "The evacuees may now focus on rehabilitating their lives," the Prime Minister said.
The Chairman of Tenufa, Bentzi Lieberman, called the agreement "the completion of [the paying] of a moral debt owed by the State of Israel and its citizens to the people evicted from Gush Katif."
"The enlargement of the compensation is a turning point that makes it possible for the evictees to complete the construction of their homes. Our role is to implement the decisions with all our energy and help the communities and families move into permanent homes as soon as possible."
The Knesset plenum will vote Wednesday on the final readings of the bill ending the claims for compensation.
I got my camera replaced. It was rubbish and the replacement - a different make - is working fine and actually although the same price is much simpler to use. The other one didn't work at all. It's now fully charged from the first charge and working great.
Forums can be addictive and it can be easy for someone who is stuck at home with nothing to do and without any inclination to do anything to become addicted to forums. There again you also have people who are tragically housebound and the internet forums are their only contact with the outside world. Years ago when I first got a computer - about 10 years ago or so - I was pretty much addicted to forums but as it was affecting my life - yes really - I was neglecting what I shouldn't neglect - I managed to wean myself off. Like Crystal (I think it was Crystal) said, for her and also for me the internet forums are just a way to while away the time.
I just get the scammers from the USA. The sending scammers other scammers addresses is a good idea. I tried that in the past but got fed up wasting my time - as if I care that they profess undying love and devotion to another man! I just ask them what they found so wonderful about my profile photo and profile, and once I have seen they have read that I block them. I never got all these scam mails when I was on POF.
RE: Danny Danon the Israel parliament speaker quoting from the bible
Bible or no bible the land belongs to Israel and Israel has every legitimate right to it.
