RE: :)

I forgot to say that it is understandable to want a quick-fix which is what Lipotrim (together with Cambridge and LighterLife, Exante, etc., etc.,} are but just go on the forums for these sorts of diets and you will see so many restarts - people lose weight fast on these and regain it all in probably ninety per cent of cases. From the look of your profile you don't have much to lose so a calorie controlled diet, exercise, etc., or perhaps Slimming World or Weight Watchers will get you to what you want your weight to be, and you will maintain it easily(ish). As others have said healthy eating is the way to do it and it will take longer but slowly and surely wins the race!

RE: :)

Isn't the average size a UK size 16?

Ah Lipotrim - I knew it well. I lost four stone on it, and promptly regained that and more.

Then I tried my own version of Atkins, keeping in ketosis but not actually Atkins. I kept the carb values in actual food to the 45 grams that Lipotrim allows and lost six stones, found I was severely missing bread and fruit, and came out of ketosis and regained it all.

Up to 30 stones )yes, thirty stones) I had to knock the problem on the head once and for all and did a food diet of between 1200 and 1500 cals a day and it took three years to get from 30 stones to 12 stones.

Maintaining is hard but the beauty of doing a diet with no fads is that it is healthy and sustainable.

It is hard at first but just get over the first few weeks and it is a doddle. Maintenance at goal is difficult though but nipping a gain quickly by a ketogenic food diet can lose it quickly.

I don't care what anyone says - long term ketongenic diets can't be good for the health. I know I am no expert but it doesn't seem right to me.

Whatever you decide please get regular checks and get your doctor's permission before you start, and you will need any medications you regularly take reassessed on a regular basis because for instance if you are on BP pills as your weight reduces your need for BP pills may reduce. The same goes for any diabetic meds etc. That is why you need regular checks throughout any diet.

Good luck!

What an amazing talent. I hope he isn't exploited and he is looked after. I would like to know how he gets on within the competition. Thanks for that!

RE: RE: Ye Thought or Rant of the Day!!!

Haha, I prefer it. That way I get to have fun on Mondays and Thursdays when everyone is hard at it. Saturdays and Sundays I start early - about 7 a.m. and am finished by about 1 p.m. or 2 p.m., so can go out or whatever. It suits me fine!

RE: RE: Ye Thought or Rant of the Day!!!

Have a good one. I work both Saturdays and Sundays (but have two days off in the week). I hear it is going to rain again. Still if it was going to be 90 degrees I would probably be complaining more!

RE: Interview the person below

No, I never use sugar at all, nor salt even in cooking.

Have you been to London and what do you think of it? (It's ok, I am not easily offended if you thought it was a horrible place - I can take that sort of criticism on the chin).

RE: What made you smile or laugh today "2" old one full

Well done on the tax rebate Newlife.

Pleased to hear you are sailing along well Sail! Look after this one well as this sort of relationship and happiness are few and far between.

Oh yes, I would second the memory foam thing, but I have a memory foam topper I bought from Netto - it makes such a difference to the mattress making it smooth with no springs etc digging in, and is even good before a new mattress gets that way so for use on a new bed or mattress it is wonderful too.

RE: News of the World

The public gets what the public wants. Where there is a public yearning for the seedy secrets and the ins and outs of the famous, and not so famous, the media gets the stories every which way it can. I think these trasy gossip magazines and newspapers are fit for nothing. Browsing round the women's magazines shelves you can see there is a market for gossip.

RE: Interview the person below

I may have been afraid but I don't remember so probably wasn't. We always remember the fanstastically good things or dredfully bad things don't we? Or is it just me laugh

Have you ever had supermarket online shopping delivered? (I do and it's brilliant).

RE: What made you smile or laugh today "2" old one full

RE: The world has gone crazy.

If you mean that in the way it has come across then that must be the most sickest comment I have read on a forum. Shame on you!

Sounds good too. I don't have Sky, only Freeview. But I am sure others will be interested.

Hi Crystal. It sounds good. Perhaps let us know if and when it returns?

Post a link to television programme you recommend

Thanks very much for sorting this out. It makes no sense to me being really thick with these things but it will help my daughter overseas who misses UK television, and also other people overseas who would like to sample UK tv.

A schedule of television programmes in the UK can be found by typing:

UK TV listings into a Google search bar and you can take your pick of the relevant choice of sites.

Thanks again Phoenix and I am sure it will be very useful for people.

The way to find past programmes is for

BBC Channels

ITV Channels

Channel 4

Channel 5

I am not sure about other channels but a Google search of that channel's on-demand viewing mode will probably help.

RE: WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO NOW PART 3

I just have Classic FM on softly in the background while I am working at home. I don't notice it much though due to concentrating!

RE: RE: Ye Thought or Rant of the Day!!!

Absolutely - well said. You have to be in it to win it and if fate does not for some reason pick some people it is because it is not meant to be. We would all like a better home, car, holidays etc., but we need to just be happy with what we have and to me good health is the most important of all, together with family, friends and the usual things of course!

RE: Do people in their 60's still get the urge?

And you hope it won't change at your next birthday! laugh

RE: RE: Ye Thought or Rant of the Day!!!

It makes me laugh with some winners who after winning several millions still work in the same job, and live in the same house. Mind you 160 million is more than I would know what to do with. A lot I would give to charities of course. I used to win a few £10 when Camelot first started the lottery which was 1994 or so I believe.

What I did do several times was the Irish Lottery and had quite a few wins on that of a few hundred each time but I moved and the betting shops were not nice places to go to in the area I moved to!

RE: How to embed video clips

This is how to post youtube clips, taken from Eos11's first post on this thread in case people only read recent posts on a thread rather than the first page.

RE: Relocating Western Europe

What are you looking for - what are your requirements?

RE: Interview the person below

Duvet definitely - hate blankets!
4.5 tog from April to October and 15 tog in winter.

Are you happy with your internet service provider? If so why, and if not, why?

RE: Interview the person below

The meatloaf sounds lovely - it's ages since I had some, probably when I was a child and mum used to make it often.

Well boring really but it has to be water because anything else leaves me feeling thirsty.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

RE: How to embed video clips

Is anyone still having problems getting to grips with posting youtube clips?

RE: RE: Ye Thought or Rant of the Day!!!

Have you been away? I should have noticed but I didn't so slap my wrists!
