RE: can money buy peace?

These corrupt countries are so different to our own. The leaders don't have the same mindset as us, and of course the corruption and disregard for people is dreadful. We should count ourselves lucky when we feel we have something to moan about with our own countries and be grateful that fate didn't make us be born in some of these countries that have so much trouble.

RE: WHAT YE DOIN' RIGHT AT THIS VERY MINUTE...... ;-)

What does that mean?

RE: can money buy peace?

Of course not. Somalia's lack of money is not the issue with its problems. Be grateful you don't live in a dangerous country.

RE: WHAT YE DOIN' RIGHT AT THIS VERY MINUTE...... ;-)

Burning Yankee candles in my living room, drinking a coffe and eating a couple of Oreos. What a life!

RE: London Riots ..

No, no, no. The EDL is just like the BNP, but with suits. Of course if you are BMP supporters that is your right.

Cameron appeals for ‘calm’ so he can at least finish one holiday this year

He is rather tall and muscley!

RE: HOWS YOUR DAY???

Lol, it's not snowing, just cold and raining. Never known a summer like this. April and May were hot but since the start of June clouds and cool. Ah well.

Ok micky, click this, and post an article you think is good as a new thread (Jokes section) of UK forum.

Lol, I won't tell my boyfriend!

RE: HOWS YOUR DAY???

It would be a lot better if winter hadn't arrived.

RE: London Riots ..

Yes, you're right.

The riots in Tottenham may have been about that guy, but the other areas weren't. And still the Police personnel cuts go ahead.

RE: London Riots ..

I reckon lots who would normally be law-abiding, when passing shops, would have a moment of madness if they thought they could get away with it. Remember - no police around, or police not even intervening. A quick in and out and they would think no-one's the wiser. Not noticing though that people were holding up their cameras getting all the details. Similar to the MPs who cruise the red light areas - caution is thrown to the wind when something is so readily available.

you did, and I bet you thought the smacking zone in Asda that I posted was also true rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Hilarious Remote!!!

I thought you have had had too much schnapps or whatever it is over there, so googled it and yes, there is a remote for a caravan. Hopefully there will be no quips from the guys about women reversing caravans by remote control. rolling on the floor laughing

Umm, you do know the above article was a joke don't you? Believe me I am having fun - although of course your idea of fun and mine are probably totally different. You have your fun your way, and I have my fun my way, but please remember if I post something like the above in the Jokes section it is because it is a Joke. Gettit?

RE: johannesburg, capetown, s africa

Cameron appeals for ‘calm’ so he can at least finish one holiday this year

David Cameron has today called for ‘calm’ throughout the world and at home, after yet another holiday had to be interrupted so he could return to London to chair a meeting of the National Security Council’s Libya committee.

It is the second time his holiday plans have been disrupted this summer, having abandoned a break in Tuscany earlier this month due to the riots across England but also to escape a nasty little argument with a waitress which was threatening to turn into an international incident.

Back at number 10 Downing Street he said the priority in the next few days was to ‘preserve civil order at home and abroad’ and ensure that he could look through the brochures in peace and plan another trip which wouldn’t be so rudely interrupted. ‘Of course we recognise the urgency of tackling the multitude of national and international crises, but I’ve just bought The Da Vinci Code and an extra-large bottle of Piz Buin, so let’s maintain some perspective,’ he said, ‘I’ve been meaning to read some Dan Brown for years, and I’d look pretty silly using my new lilo at home in the bath, like George Osborne does.”

He said considerable planning had been done to ensure this was the case next time, with a window of opportunity identified in September when key people would run basic services. ‘UK and NATO forces will be deployed around the globe in potential hotspots to maintain a respectable amount of status quo to ensure that I can at last have a whole week of peace,’ he added with a sigh of relief.

A close friend of Mr Cameron said; ‘David takes his job seriously; he needs his well earned down time to recuperate and regenerate, that’s why he chose a career in politics. Where else can you get that sort of annual leave entitlement?’

‘He’s just glad he didn’t go anywhere nice,’ the friend added, ‘it’s so much easier to pull yourself away from a cold Cornish beach or an Easyjet departure lounge than it would be if he’d been spending a couple of weeks on an oligarch’s yacht in the med, like George Osborne does.’

Nobody knows whether or not Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has returned early from holiday but polls suggest that if he hasn’t, he really should ‘see it through’.

Finally! The truth about what really happened aboard from Mavi Marmara's Chief Officer himself!

THREAD IN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL

Anyway - back on topic. Some of you may remember the Mavi Marmara last year.

Here is what happened:

In this footage, taken on board the Mavi Marmari on 30May2010, IHH leader Bulent Yildirim clearly instructs his followers to throw the Israeli commandos overboard when they land on the ship. His speech was made in Turkish and repeated in Arabic by a translator.

New Footage of wounded Israeli Commandos on the Mavi Marmara. This is clear cut evidence that there was a group of mercenarfies on board sponsored by the IHH to wound, kill and/or capture Israeli soldiers. This is a provocation from Turkish soil which the Turkish goverment should investigate.

THREAD IN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL

Lol, look how many of my posts have been voted down since the start of this thread.

I don't mind people voting my views down - it is their perogative to do that, but to vote down a thread as sensitive as my last post with people having been injured and killed and the psychoogist quoting about how people are affected - to vote it down is sick to say the least.

Perhaps they would probably vote up a post about Iran nearly being able to have the capability to launch a nuclear bomb. barf

More rockets fired from Gaza into Israeli civilian areas:

Rocket Fire Continues on Southern Israel During Terrorist Truce

Southern Israel came under rocket fire once again for a fifth night despite claims by Gaza terrorists they were committed to a “ceasefire.”

Southern Israeli cities came under rocket fire again for a fifth night despite claims by Gaza terrorists they were committed to a “ceasefire.”

Residents in the coastal city of Ashkelon found themselves racing for cover several times throughout the night Monday as the Color Red air raid siren blared its warning, starting in the early evening.

Two medium-range Grad Katyusha missiles, fired by terrorists in northern Gaza, exploded in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council district at around 7:40 p.m. local time. Both landed in open areas, although one set off a large brush fire in a field that quickly ignited due to the dry summer heat.

A third rocket attack was launched at about 10:00 p.m. The missile landed in an open area in the Ashkelon Regional Council district. Another one followed about two hours later, right around midnight, also in the area of the coastal city. The Color Red air raid siren blared a warning alert each time.

No damage or physical injuries were reported.

However, the necessity of racing for shelter late at night creates an especially difficult time for families with children or other relatives who are elderly or unwell, noted Hana Levi Julian, LCSW-R, a behavioral psychotherapist. "This comes not only due to the nocturnal disruption in the body's circadian rhythm but also due to the sudden spike in adrenalin that results from the body's response to the alert siren. The cumulative effect of such stimuli are especially damaging to children, whose bodies and minds are in the formative stages of life," she commented.

Earlier in the day, a rocket struck an empty building in the Eshkol Regional Council district as well. No physical injuries were reported in any of the attacks.

The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) terrorist group had announced earlier Monday in a statement on its website that it would adhere to a Hamas-led ceasefire. However, more than a dozen rockets were fired Sunday night after the so-called truce was imposed.

No Gaza-based group took responsibility for the attacks.

A deadly Grad Katyusha missile barrage on Be'er Sheva Saturday evening left a 38-year-old man dead and eight others seriously wounded. Ofakim was also targeted, as were numerous other southern Israeli cities and communities. Nearly 40 people were hospitalized due to severe anxiety.

THREAD IN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL

Tragically it was but of course there is historical and also archeological evidence of Jewish presence in Israel going back thousands of years with the most amazing finds going on right now.

So the fact that it was occupied doesn't make it any less due to the Jews as the occupiers had force of rule and no ties to Israel.

Remember, Judaism is approximately 4000 years old - Islam 1400 years old. Although of course the Koran does not mention Jerusalem at all.

Mohammed made his followers pray towards Mecca rather than towards Jerusalem and even now at the Temple Mount which was holy to the Jews (in fact the holiest site of the Jews), and which was taken over by the muslems, the muslems pray with their backs to the Temple Mount.

It is not as important to them as Mecca is. So while the Jews are forbidden to worship on the Temple Mount (what is built on there is not important - it is what the area means to the Jews), the Muslems not only kick a football or two around on it, have picnics on it and generally not treat the surrounding grounds with respect, the Jews are forbidden to go there.

You cannot know where you are going until you know where you came from.

Actually Alexander the Great was good to the Jews after a while and because of that with non-religious Jews it can be quite a custom to name a son Alexander or Alex.
