The morning after a night of rocket and mortar attacks in southern Israel, red-eyed Israelis in southern Israel tried to resume their daily routines.
In many cases it was a difficult challenge, especially in Be'er Sheva, where near-constant air raid alerts kept residents racing for cover for most of the night.
“Don't ask me to perform brain surgery today!' wrote Bracha G., a local resident, on her Facebook page.
Goldman described how Israelis responded to the first of two Grad Katyusha attacks Wednesday evening in the city known as the “capital” of Israel's southern region, home to some 200,000 people.
“We were on the train on the way home from a lovely evening... imagine, the train the stops, the announcement of a siren, and we all lie down on the floor of the train,” she wrote.
“This is madness – why are we not responding more vigorously, and wiping out this terrorist regime once and for all?”
It's a question many are asking in the strong light of day after a 9-month-old baby and a second Israeli, an adult, were wounded during last night's attacks on the Ashkelon area.
A total of 16 rockets and mortars rained down on southern Israel, striking communities all over the region, from the Eshkol Regional Council district, to Ofakim, Ashkelon, Netivot, Be'er Sheva and elsewhere in the western Negev.
“We are not responding because our government is afraid of what the world will say,” wrote another Facebook member. “Who cares if citizens are being terrified. “My daughter is in Soroka and she told me that the sirens and booms woke up all the babies and there was madness on the ward.”
Rabbi Lazer Brody of the Breslov Chassidic movement commented in an article published Sunday entitled “Ceasefire with Hamastan” that eight missiles were fired at Israel almost immediately following the so-called 'ceasefire' announced by the Hamas terrorist rulers of Gaza.
“No, you can't understand the Middle East,” Brody wrote. “The dirtiest Western street fight with chains and broken bottles is Romper Room by Gazan standards... If Israel fails to react appropriately, the Arabs will see us as paper tigers. If we do, then the magpies of the world will have excuse to regurgitate their not-so-latent hate for Jews and the Jewish nation... We've restrained ourselves enough.”
Brody advised praying, placing the trust of the nation in the One Above, “revving up the tanks,” and “moving heavy artillery into position.”
Oooh a thumbs down. Well what a surprise. I tell the truth and so do others and get thumbs down for it. How about disputing my statement rather than hiding.
I have only read your post, and not the whole thread. What I like if there is room is two double, or preferably king size (five feet wide) beds side by side and whoever wants can get a good night's sleep in their own space or both stay in one bed. No hogging the covers either and no-one waking you up with movement. So it's the best of both worlds.
Perfect apart from two mistakes. Take out the space both times between the you and the tube. So it will look like this: youtube between the two brackets both time.
Second mistake is you forgot the slash this one: / which goes just before the y in the last youtube.
Honestly, if you do the above it will work - I promise.
Seriously, if you want just one link have a look at the following. Conrad posted it elsewhere and it really puts the history and the situation if very clear and easy to understand format. It won't take too long to look through and you will have a much better understanding of what the problem is.
Your first link doesn't even mention that since that historical piece was published, Israel has now pulled out from Gaza, so yet another concession was given away to the arabs.
History since when? Of course even the history of the last 200 years is relevant, probably most relevant actually.
I don't hate Muslims, but I hate what trouble is being caused in Israel by some Muslims in the name of Islam. In Israel I have several Muslim friends, and even here in London. The Muslims in Israel are upset and wonder why there has to be continuous trouble. As I said it is only the radicals that are like this. Most families simply want to get on with life, work hard, raise their families, vacations etc.
I hate the violence, but I also have the belief that Israel should not be anialated, and that is understandable, don't you think?
Yes absolutely right. They are unfortunately victims of power hungry leaders and things could have been different had they accept the land offered and not refused it. It was a sizeable portion of land too.
In the cafes and bars in Israel the Jews and Muslims get along fine - as I said here or another thread it is the radicals that are spoiling it for their bretheren muslims. Jews and Muslims just get along great on the whole in Jerusalem. I suppose it is a case of the muslims living in Israel proper being lucky to be living at the right place, on in the wrong place at the mercy of leaders who simply do not know how to run their government well and are corrupt.
As I said above, the muslim arabs are indoctrinated to hate the Jews. It started during Mohamed's time when he massacred about 800 or so Jewish men and there has been trouble since. Also Abraham - the first of the Patriachs had a son by his wife and a son by his wife's handmaiden. The son by his wife Issac, and the son by the handmaiden Ishmael. Ishmail and his mother the handmaiden were cast out and therefore there was bad feeling from the start - 4000 or so years ago. Ishmail is considered important to the Muslims. So it is a case of two half brothers and jelousy, as well of course as what followed 2500 years later with the birth of Islam.
RE: In and Out Thread
That's because you aint shaking it about.
