Love love love, oh the enemy of humanity, turns
men into fools, wanton creatures worthy of
nothing, imbiciles staggering lost in a wilderness
of their own doing, I have no pity for such beings
it serves them well, to fall headlong into its trap
for they deserve no thought , cast them away
from you, leave them let them suffer the pains
of such foolishness,, love, cloaked,the great
pretender, laughs openly at mans guillable
misfortune,,,and he would invite it in, thinking
all the time how wonderful it was,,, an idiot in
the making,, a crusader of lies.. this is how it
goes, and on and on and on,,,an eternity he
would not learn, there can be no reprieve,,, love
is the enemy,, build your defences now,,,,lest
you leave it too late!

I've redesigned, I looked at the plans, they
didn't fit with my demands,,

I've knocked down the walls and diverted
the halls,

I've demolished the floors and removed
all the doors,

I'm now on one level and its open plan,
I've done what I can,

I've cleared all the mess and removed excess
baggage,
now airy and bright,,,a perfect marraige,

I'd really like to invite you in,, but I'd need
assurance as to where you've been,

I'm afraid I'll have to vet,,no visitors allowed
just yet,

There's work still in progress,,,with access
and egress,

But come back later when the workmen
are gone, dont be impaitent,,wont be long,

Then we'll have tea for two,,,
just me and just you.

The weatherman says sunshine and haze,
spreading in from the west in the coming
days,

The rain abates, the clouds dispel, the
river loses its swell,
the floods go down, then people frown
see the damage to their town,

Homes abandoned with the rising tide,
as water crept inside,
can now be seen, they show their wear,
the damage there, where natures life
had been

And now I see as I pass by, beneath
a clear blue sky,
faces worn with hearts torn, for what
was lost,.... there's no return,
... no matter what the cost,


An old teddy bear, that was cradled
with care,,,or an old photograph
that was one of a kind,,,now
committed to memory,,,now
committed to mind,


And its clear to see,, to you,,, to me,,,,,
that possessions may be gone,,
but memories will stay with you
,,,and life will carry on.

The bars of steel that hold my heart
wont break or bend or fall apart,
there's nothing left that can get in
ther're marked but strong from
where they've been,,

Nothing now can penetrate this ring
of steel that I create,
their substance, their form, will
guarantee,,,nothing,,, will burden me,

They're made to last, are holding fast,
they wont allow,, they dont know how,
to bend or twist,,,or fracture there,
emotions lost,,,, no one to care.

Is it guilt or fear, why exactly am I here,
whats the defining factor, ready to explode
reaching critical,,, like a nuclear reactor,
to take the obvious leap, shouldn't be in question,
am I in too deep, maybe too much reflection,

Is it loyalty or faith,, pity or care,, not
too late,,,,to get from here to there,
its been touch and go,,,fast and slow,,,
now time to decide,,,,,step up,,not hide,,,
its not a life to be living,,,,cant continue
not giving,,,,,enough of this game,,,day
after day ,,,always the same,,,nothing
to say,,,,,,,,time to drive away.
Today!

Something thats constant, that
doesn't flicker or sway,
That keeps its own balance
in a masterful way,

That holds to the truth and the
way it should be,
not youth, but the vision to see,

Something thats stable to
anchor us to,
To keep us in line and help see us
through,

Just something!

Secretary's Memo


Poets Corner will accept applications for
contributions, only when all criteria is fulfilled,

!: You must be constantly drunk on spirits not
properly distilled.

2: You must be mad, half mad won't do,
you must be completely cuckoo

3: You must agree your totally free
of normality.

4: You have to stay, no running away for
the time agreed.

5: You cannot plead.

6: You abandon all hope, give in and
dont try to cope.

7:You must think in rhyme,,, all
the time.

8: No sleeping allowed,, you must stand
up in a crowd or fall down from exaustion
either way you can then stay

9: You must submit at least something
of no value, completely insane,,and write
it standing out in the rain

Abagail and Alexander played footsie
under the table,
Maurice and Martha got cross with
auntie Mabel,
Felecitiy and Felix spent sunday at
the zoo,
Jasper and Jennifer got lost in
kathmandu,
Collette and Colin kissed under the
mistletoe,
Benjamen and Bridget got a call
and had to go,
All of these people belong to
something good,
They spend their nights swinging
in our neighbourhood!

Oh,,I forgot Timothy and Tessa,,they're
up for a lark,,,they like to go dogging
at our local park!

There's two, there's me and there's you,
together a pair, soo interesting they stare,
we talk aloud and sing in unision, a
conflicting complexity of pathetic derision,
you speak, say the first line, I complete
thats neat, its yours and its mine,
we're never apart, always the one,
if you're not there, I'm also gone,
I've said it before, dont need anymore,
just me and just you, that makes us
two, we'll carry it on, until we are gone,

or the doctors discover,, new treatment
to help me recover, its all in my head
strapped to this bed,, there's one,,not
two,,,thats you,,,thats what they say,
when they take me away,, electric
shock treatment,, the only way!

Resolution sinks in,, let the future begin,
a new dawn,,,,a new day,,,,never the pawn,
a whole new way,,,,,

A whole new life thats open and clear,,,
nothing to hide,,,and nothing to fear,,,
the past dont exist,,,tomorrows not near
todays the beginning,,,, its,,,here,

I'll live for the now,,aint no other way,,
I've learned how,,,,,my dues I did pay,,
Its short and sweet,,, age and wisdom
did meet,,,, youth passed away,,, that
was yesterday!

The brightness of the morning sun has changed
its hue from gold to blue, stormy clouds hang
overhead to emphasise my aching head,
and I look out upon this day, a gloomy start,
charcoal grey, visions of the night gone past,
twirling, swirling moving fast, body wrecked
no mind control, cant concentrate just
deviate, did I do that? did I say this?, recollection
gone amiss, lost in space,, a mind race,,,,can't
muster up the energy,,,,,resigned to it,,,what will
be will be,,,, cocooned in isolation,,, this sorry state
thats my creation.

Reaching out for someone to help
you on your way, finding its impossible
to orgainise your day,
absorbing all the suffering you find
along the way, will keep you lost
and lonely no matter what we say,
the sorrow and the sadness that
invade so constantly, will take you
down and keep you down...ultimately

So take the time to realise,,, the truth,,
avoid the lies,
take control and clear the way
create your better day,
open up your mind, let the power
from within, wipe away the negative
and let the positive begin.
