A Bridge To You..

If I could build
a bridge to your
very heart

This is the
day I'd choose
to start

I'd build it high
above your ocean
of pain

With pillars of
steel against
the rain

I'll battle the
wind, the waves,
and the sea

If that's what
it takes for us
to be

I'll labor hard
both day and
night

Until at last
you're in my
sight

You'll pay no
toll to cross
this bridge

My love to you
I freely give~

What would be your last poem?(Challenge)

You only have a day to live..
You need to summon all your
powers of being and come to
grips with the last poem you'll
ever write..
The field is wide open..
What would you express to a
world seemingly bent on self
destruction..
Or might you share something
simple and personal..
Or..something else?

knock knock..

knock knock..
It's time to
listen to your
heart!
This scene is
gettin' old
It's time to
be bold!
It's time for
a brand new
start!
Are you willing
to do whatever
it takes
Have you courage
enough no matter
the stakes
To break through
the wall that
blocks your way
If this speaks
to you then
start today
Mabey one big
move might do
the trick
If that won't
work then you'll
have to pick
Between tiny steps,
but at least make
one
It's better than
rotting..better
than none
Step out-break
through-break free
today
Forget about your
fear or what others
say
Cause when tomorrow
comes and you're
still stuck
You can lie to
yourself and blame
it on luck
" Hero's die once,
cowards die daily"
Prepare for battle!
No evil fights
fairly!

Blackstone Bridge

The sunshine that shone through the
Dirty Windows of her old farm house
Warmed her cheek, resurrecting her
Heart of tears
Tired of thinking of her haunting
Regrets, of a love she threw to
The wind, she turned her gaze
Towards snowflakes that fell
Quietly on her doorstep
The sound of the hindges
On the broken gate
Swinging on a cold morn
Was the only voice that
Came without a curse
So beautiful was she,
The talk of the tavern
And of every hungry
Heart that peared at
Her through cracked
Doors
To many nights had
I dreamed of her kiss
No sunrise could match
The long flow of her silken
Hair
Nothing between me and
Her but time and space and
Wisdom that vanished from
My tongue
I felt as nothing in her
Presence yet she was
Never unkind
Her smile nurtured me
In a hope against all
Hope
She was the courage of
Every war I'd yet to fight
The mountain I might
Never climb
Between heaven and
Earth there are stars
And cool rivers and
She stood between
The two enchanting
Me as Venus with
Breasts afire
A massive stone
At the entrance of
My unmarked grave
Was the only testimony
Of my vanquished existence
I found myself often slumped
Over the cold rails of a lonely
Bridge that separated the small
Town from the vast stretch of
Snow covered hills of a vast
Stretch of farm land
My gaze set upon and ice
Covered lake, my destiny
Carved in forgotten
Footprints in a heart
That time forgot
My hands numb from
The cold, I loosened
My grip from the cold
Rails to walk away..
Walking slowly she
Approached me wearing
Her fur coat and hat
With a smile she wrapped
Her arm in mine and saw
The terror of my every
Forgotten dream
She melted every
Desolation of my
Heart and gave me
Absolution
On Blackstone Bridge..

Morning light

On this chilly December morn
branches and tree trunks are
bathed in the resplended light
of the rising sun
With every passing moment tints
and hues of spectral magic carress
my adoring eyes
There is a subtle whisper beckoning
me to dream of worlds unknown in
the changing coulors of dawn
I drink the deep quiet of soul with
every cup of morning mist
I take a breath and my spirit bows
to the morning light and to Him
who commands the day**

Lil' Christmas tree

Lil christmas tree with lights
so bright, shine your star for
me tonight
Let mommy and daddy not
fight so much
Let them hug and kiss with
a gentle touch
Oh twinkling lights wash away
my tears
Fill this little girls stocking with
joy not fears
Lil tree I must whisper now
cause I hear shouting in the
other room
Oh twinkle twinkle come real soon
I must hurry now to my secret
room!

Jesus and the Old Man

I am very old now and with much difficulty
I try to climp these hills through the press
of this mulitude
So many people clamering to see this man that
I fear I will never reach him
From every quarter in Jerusalem I hear shouts..
Some shout crucify, others are shouting praises..
I don't understand what's going on..
Why have the Romans taken him?
He was such a good man and I know what he did for
me..
A younger man held me by my arm and helped me
up the hillside..
'The days are violent, he said. It seems the God's
have come down to us.'
With trembling voice of age I pulled the young man
close and feebly whispered to his ear, 'I must see
him.'
'With this mob he said, you have little chance to
get close enough to him, and the Roman guards will
trample you if you try to get close.'
Still I pressed on into the way of the oncoming crowd.
It seemed the events of the times were forcing tears
from the debths of my soul yet I had not summoned them.
A rock on the outskirts of the city was elevated enough
above the crowds heads that if I could get upon it I
might catch a glimspe of him.
The guards kept hitting him as he kept falling in the
streets and my soul was crushed with sorrow.
He would never see me now..how could he so beated and weak
He would never hear my words of thanks and how could I
ever let him know?
Who was this man this he could make me see?
I leaned foward on the rock and strained to speak out
his name as they dragged him past me...but I could not
I have to tell him..
He must know how I love him..
My tears were flooding down my face when suddenly this
beaten and broken man looked in my direction..
He paused and gasped for his breath and though the torment
of hell racked his face he spoke words looking right at me
but I couldn't hear him..
When he passed I summoned the young man who had helped me
onto the rock and asked if he had heard Jesus' words..
The young man said,'Yes I did..'
'Jesus had said,See I make all things new again.'

From Glory to Glory

Man seeks a world that
will glorify himself

To seek the praise of
another is alien to
his nature

A religion that will
enthrone us

A personal wisdom,
beauty, and strength
is his entitlement

A politic, a country,
is his natural right

And, alas! He's blinded
by his own glorified
light~

'I..Sun'

I was created to
rule the day..

Do not look upon me
for I am fire..

Surely your flesh has
felt the warmth of my
soothing rays..

But many have mocked me
and suffered a burning
fate..

I relish to nurture the
tender plant..

The new born babe is kept
at a safe distance from me..

I give light over the face
of the whole world..

The lion sits upon the rock
proud in all his majesty and
I can change the colors in
his stately mane..

Can you stand toe to toe
with the lion?

Can you intimidate him as
you can a man?

Surely he will not flinch
at your rantings..for he
knows no fear..

If you cannot look upon me..
a burning fire..if you cannot
look into the face of the
mighty lion whose muscles are
wrapped like layers of steel..

How shall you look into the
face of the one who created us?

How shall you consider the one
who truly commands the day?

Turn away and kneel..for you
are mere flesh..

Put your hand on your mouth
and pray that you vain thoughts
have not be heard..

Pray that you will be shown
mercy from the one who is from
everlasting to everlasting..

The Almighty God!

The World is Turning

My thoughts are being
tossed by the gentle
winds of time..

'The world is turning
I thought..

I ponder four horses
grazing in a field..

Surely the horse is
a symbol for something
greater..

Then I thought..

Everthing is a symbol
for something else..

We dance on the fringes
of space and time as
living symbols of the
ultimate real..

But why must we think
in such terms?

The eye is not satisfied
with the mere fact of a
blue sky..we must seek
the ultimate blue sky
behind the veil..

Behind the impenetrable
veil we trust for the
meaning behind every
symbol

We are creatures of the
symbol..

Everything in terms of
something else..

And something else is
something else..

The world is turning,
but we can weary ourselves
trying to comprehend it..

So be it..

Whatever I discover..will
it not be the truth?

What is there to fear when
we finally discover the
truth?

Will we lose everything?

Will we gain an unimaginable
inheritance?

All symbols..

Still..I am what I am..and
you are that you are..

And we both know..that the
world is turning..~

Poem Without Words

You can read it in the stars, in heaven's celestial light, When time churns under the Masters clock, and the spirit of life stirs within,With the quivering voice of the old man, and the cry of the new born, Come! Read the words of life and of death, May justice reign in the earth, Children playing in the sun give utterance to majestic phrase, when jewels of praise roll of their tongues, and glisten in the haze, When the winds of war blow turmoil upon the shores of a tranquill land, then will heaven's valiant march as lions, and the vanquished will be no more, Hear the words written on the heart that speak of better days, and the sublime peeks over the eternal horizon purifying the soul, Sleep on my children and I shall awake thee in white raiment, Golden crowns shall adorn thee, Oh, have you not heard my words, how the mute proclaim my counsel? In the night, I stole the wise mans pride, and he arose to hear loves song, Take wings now, and fly my child, for a mighty thing is coming...
