The Most High God

In your pleasure you
woke me from the dust
And for a moment I
breathed the breath
of life
Yet a whispering wind
chanted gently that my
days would be as the grass
But thoughts stirred in my
heart..that before I sleep
I might say..
Thank you for the gift
of life..
Thank you..to The Most
High God..~

Scare the Ghost

When sticks brush
against your window
pane
And moon peaks
through mist
and rain
When shadows glide
accross the
walls
And clinking chains
drag the
halls
When weird figures
walk through
doors
And nails push
up through
hardwood
floors
When unseen things
start playing
that game
And you're about
to go completely
insane
Don't worry
Scare the Ghost!
That's right
Now You're
the Host!
If you call
his bluff
He'll vanish
in a puff
Cause he's
one big sissy
just throwin'
his little hissy
Scare the Ghost!
You'll be glad
you did
Scare the Ghost
He just ran
and hid..
BOO!!

The Countenance of Character

All that we
are
The sum of
the soul
The joy and
pain
The living and
the dying
Is recorded as
a living testament
within the
countenance
A mirror
of innumerable
reflections..
character..
At times, glancing
through the windows
of the eyes..
At others, a gesture,
a pose, a half
hidden smile
Telltale signs of
an entity born
of blood and
sririt
Yet whose habitation
is veiled to
itself and hidden
under the wings
of eternity
Yet, how does
one survey so
vast a panoply
of mind and
spirit when
the soul yields
not its secrets
readily
The soul may
reveal to the
disinterested
passerby a
momentary face
of stone
while to others
the key to its
inner universe
is offered with
a smile
Who can know
it?
Perhaps the tears
of a mother fall
through doors for
which there is
no key..save the
master locksmith
To gaze intently
into a face
To look
To turn away
then look again
And alas!
The face of a
thousand sorrows
have vanished,
and the visage
of a settled
contentment befalls
you
Strength molds the
chin of the
father
The frolic of
indecision flush
accross the faces
of undying youth
The never never
land of children
will be summoned
by the nature of
time and character
will awaken them
to become warriors
The face of the
moment is characters
living clock where
minutes become hours,
days, and years..
and years bow to
to the dust as
all flesh must
And who knows
that character
will not sit
in columned halls
of the master
locksmith..

Hard times

Life is tough..
I mean really, how much
can a human really endure?
I was cut off in traffic
at 7:00 am..
Stuck in traffic, a policeman
glanced over at me and stared
deeply into my eyes
I knew instantly that he knew
I had over due library books
from the fifth grade..
He yanked me out of my car
totally furious that a miserable
scoundrel like me was even
walking the streets..
He called for back up and a dozen
cops stormed the scene..
They ran a check on me and sure
enough my old elementary school
confirmed that I had in fact not
returned as many as 34 books..
I was rushed downtown and handcuffed
to five other hardened criminals
who also cursed the day of my birth..
One cop had to be restrained from
shooting me because one of the books I hadn't
returned was 'The Silly Duck Who Could,' and
he had searched for that book for his own
little girl..
Arriving at the jail I was thrown into
a damp cell where I could only see the
outline of a big fat man mumbling stuff
like, 'I'm gonna make you talk white boy..'
He had a big stick in his hand that had
thick nails sticking out..
I spit in his eye in total defiance saying,
'You slops will never get 'The Silly Duck
Who Could..'
Professionals were flown in from the east
and carved a piece of my ear off and made
a tomato sandwich out of it, but I was not
moved..
The CIA was called in a promised to beat the
living Duck out of me, but nay my dear friends,
I was not dismayed..
And in the midst of this terrible tale you may
be wondering from whence comes my strength..
Because..It's almost..
FRIDAY!!

Island women

My flight on the way to
Hawaii from the US was
caught in a terrible
storm..
We veered off course and
for hours no raido contact
could be made..
The pilot finally had to
make a crash landing in
the sea and of the 240
passengers on board only
I survived..
I awoke on a sandy beach
on an uncharted island
where a tribe of beautiful
women had nurtured me back
to health..
After regaining my strength
the women carried me to the
tribal chieftess who was
called Shanlee..
Shanlee had her women servants
bathe me in island oils garnered
from the huge plants that grew
deep within the islands interior..
She regaled me with the islands
history as I was fed exotic fruits
by women dressed in palm leaves..
Some 200 women now on the island
were the sole survivers of a war
fought with an all male tribe from
another island that had sunk..
The male warrior tribe called the
Macholians had been defeated by
the women and the last male slave
had died six months ago, Shanlee
informed me..
The women were in desire of repopulating
the island yet the men of the Macholian
tribe were of bad blood and considered
not fit for wholesome society..
After some months had passed Shanlee
thought me an able male worthy of
fathering a new race on the island..
We would in effect begin a new Eden,
and she renamed me Adomelian..
In the years to follow I had fathered
1200 childred who in time would begat
their own childred..
I carried a golden septer the women artisian
had fasioned for me and they carried me
about the island as Caesar had been carried..
Yes, I was the lover of multitudes of women..
I was as a God..
I was clothed in a silk robe spun from seashells
and attended by the most voluptous women the
heart could desire..
But then something strange happened..
My arlarm clock went off and I had to
go to work..
Another Monday morning~

My Pirate Queen

A lonely voyage
with direction lost
when out of the fog
she appeared

Stranded in deep waters
when into my path
she steered

She captured my vessel
taking me aboard where
she fed me her stolen
delights

Now with my Pirate Queen
I'm sailing the seas..
we vanish into
the night..

i'm ok with You..

This restaurant could
stand some better
paintings
And the waiter
needs a shave
And the doorman
could be a lil'
more alert
And not stand
there in a
daze
The cook
must have
fallen asleep
Judging by
my clock
We've had time
to drink ten
coffees
And jog around
the block
But I'm ok
with you
my love
You make it
all worthwhile
You're the
masterpiece
hangin' on
my heart
You're my
Mona Lisa

The Trumpet Angel

'Stay your hand!,oh mighty Angel
For wisdom falls on a dry land'
A land, where mortals strut and
strain against the winds of time..
Mere clay that stands errect and
shakes his fists at the heavens, and
curses as though diety was his debtor..
Yet stay your hand Trumpet Angel..hold
back the the four winds of destruction!
Man who will drink the full measure of
his violence may yet repent..
He will slaughter..He will kill, and
innocent blood his drink of desire..
Oh, that he turns his eyes towards
trancendent rays of divine light..
Oh, that the that truth would burn
through the blackness of the abyss..
The earth groans within itself, and the
sun yearns for the morning star..
But look to the heavens oh man..
For there stands an Angel on the
precipice of time with outstretched arm..
And with the voice of Eternity utters this
warning..
'Take heed ye inhabitants of the earth''
That for every falling star, and for every
passing shadow shall be a strike of the clock,
and a reminder that man who chases a foolish
vanity shall once again..become dust, and all
dust shall be gathered for judgement!

Love Note

I tucked this lil note
between your fingers as
a ray of sunlight graced
your lovely cheek
You were sleeping when I
wrote this darlin' and I
didn't want to wake you..
I paused for a moment to
gaze at your blissful
slumbering smile
I kissed your forehead and
prayed my kiss would take
wings as a tickling whisper
in your ears
I fastened my belt, tied my
shoes, and buttoned my jacket
Quietly, I closed the bedroom
door behind me and with a smile
raised my eyes to the heavens..
I could only think..
God, I love this woman~

A few good women (tribute to SCatlyn)

You know a man can sometimes speak
a strange and mysterious language
Yet, I believe it is the woman who dots
his 'I's and crosses his 'T's..
And for my part, I like this mystic
symbiosis
Yet, woman is much more than a proof
reader and an old haggard english
teacher who helps him 'make the grade'
She breathes into him the soul of her love
And man would do well to pay heed to the
vitality of her spirit
Put his hand to the plow and from across
the field her bakery lures him back to
the cabin
Though the sun beat down on his back
Her hands will sooth the aching
toil from his dusty flesh
She listens to his stories with bright eyed
interest
She believes in him and the wise man
peers ever deeper into the mystery of
her love
He honors her when the day is long and
when he sees the test of her faith in her
down cast eyes
She needs his strength too
His validation comes in so much more
than the warm fur he has wrapped around
her shoulders
She needs to feel his strong hands cupping
her face to be sure
But she needs him
The essence of him
Her man
I have found this
in..a few good women
