About this poem:
Impressive feat being the first Ukrainian Got Talent champion but more so for her gentle nature and humility...giving the glory to God instead of her own abilities...and for having a heart...a giving heart to those in need...

Life

like a yatch
out in the ocean
on a glorious day
you can sail as slow or
as fast as you want
in anyway the wind blows
so don't forget
to take the time
to have a splash,
dive, jump and
just enjoy
the ride
while it lasts!

Winter in my heart...

The bitter ice welcomed me outside
Where it's cold and wet at eventide
Trembling hands saving a crippled heart
Just a drop of crimson blood from anyone
Is warmth that could save my fading life
But unseen, my sighs inaudibly insignificant
In your eyes just a shadow without light
Cast outside naked, blind to the beauty of icicles
For in the darkness of a cold winter's night
Beauty brings no Joy; spirit only matters
As body trembles, wail; my spirit screams
In anguish I beg to be cradled in your warmth
Next to your heart; to be bathe with your charm
Awakening a dormant seed, sprout to evergreen
But alas insignificant I am, out of sight
Frost- bitten toes now blue, fingers too
Bloodless lips crumble and split in two
There's no feeling left; not on nerves or flesh
Light now fading through hollowed
half- closed eyes
Hear my prayer Lord, Please
Hold the Wind! Reign them!
Let this bitter cup of the night pass by
That I may last to see the warm rays of sun
Soon to cocoon my heart;
And your glory
will soon around me cast!

About this poem:
Just realised winter is just around the corner... It reminded me of those cold nights... especially when I was at my lowest....I tried to put it down to paper and I came up with this...

Reminiscing

Chat me up
Buttercup
Till the wee hours
Or at sunrise
Fill me up with
Fun, Laughters
Let me giggle
And soon out loud
Make me laugh
Pour your juice of life
Let me sip it wild
Quench my thirst
Satiate a voracious mind
As it craves for yours
Waiting for the rebirth
Of dormant seeds of love
As each and every night
Without fail you
Bring me heaps
Of dopamine delight
A bucketful of lust
Allowing me to swim
In the raging river
of mighty pheromones
I can't promise
I will last all night
But will hang on
Until morn arrives!

What matters.... Cafe's Challenge

NB: hope it's not too late cafe...

When garden-like Christchurch was made to tremble
Forced to go down on her knees t'was terrible
I listened to their cries of anguish and hopelessness
Watched fear and pain etched in faces I won't forget
At the end of the day... The things a man would utter
Are names of love ones , God and none other!

When my beautiful mother in law at 100 was about to go
The Book of Psalms chapter 23 she asked us to read through
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want......
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me; " testament to her faith
Alone with her, I witnessed in her eyes she was someplace else
In her last dollop of strength, she smiled as her grip went away!

If I had just a day left In this world full of pain
I will smell the flowers, feel the rain
Bask in the lie-giving warmth of the sun
I will raise my voice, sing praises to my Lord
I will kiss my love ones' faces once more
Let them know by their's my life was blessed
But most of all I will hold the hand of my beloved
And thank him for the peaceful life he offered...

About this poem:
Only two things matter at the end of everyone's day: God and the people in our lives! I have seen atheists and agnostics pray nearing their passing away...and it made me wonder ....Life (the spirit that makes us human )must return to where it came from......

Tropical Depression

The wind was strong last night
when I came to bed...
And the thought of surf
in the harbour
wouldn't leave my head...
so I knelt and prayed...
for the tropical depression
to bring to our waters
some good decent surf
I woke up this morning
with your kiss on my forehead
I noticed as you left
wind had died down
no chance for a surf
Even now as I write this...
It is so calm ...
It feels absurd
Then Easter flashed
thru my mind...
And somewhere in the distance
Agnes Waters visited my head
I hope you'll take the chance.
Dip your hands into your bucket list
pick one that you can tick
To give your loving heart and soul
that much needed push and lift

To Die... Quietly

Lament my soul,
Lament and watch
black trickles
of sweet poison
flows quietly
into my river
that accumulates
in a dam now full
drop after drop
until it gives in
explodes, expose
Wound in my soul
festers in sight
as maggots arise
a horrid stench
from opened heart
left to dry out
under scorching heat
of a raging sun
only to be flipped
engulfed forever
by the darkness
of a cold cold night,
to freeze
to numb
to die
quietly

Tomorrow torn
by savage beaks
of vultures mean!

Stonewalled...and Alone!

You wake up each morning
Without a face to look at
Each day a challenge
But patiently you gear up
A block of courage to fight
A solid goal to lock your eyes on
An ounce of faith to trust
A barrel of strength to last
Some nourishment to keep you
Stable and firm in your steps
As you navigate your way
One small step at a time
Determined to climb over
Stonewall, lifeless often cold
In your bid to last another day!

Stonewalled....and alone...

A Sunday to Remember

Wandering souls wearing itchy feet
Early on a Sunday 'morn what a feat
Down the highway, round the bend
Houses lining dusty road seems no end
Further afield into the forest deep
Driving slowly on roads a-curvy
Like a snake, winding along graveled road
Soaking in never ending glades so broad

Suddenly a creek so beautiful looms in view
Places and moments like these few
Eyes feasted; as brake made such a screech
Joining campers wallowing in sublime bliss
Of Mother Nature's lush and lavish gifts
Not a minute wasted, they are charmed
By the water's song, hard to resist
They followed where it wants to lead!

Down a quiet pool, spent time, meditate
Tapestry woven above only nature can create
Fresh leaves on fragile twigs and branches long
In sync with a verdant velvety carpet down below
Coming together, touching each other ever gracefully
Casting shadows onto coolish still waters
Dancing, bouncing, swaying like ballerinas
Yet serene, this place; Serene it seems!

Up ahead a log lay across the gentle stream
Foot bridge to reach other side, don't dream
Ever inquisitive, this little child within
Off she went away hoping to get a glimpse
Of the beauty waiting across the water to be seen
Stopped on her path, eyes on camera screen
Freezing this beauty for a lifetime to be seen
But the ground moved; and slithered it seemed!

It's a ssssssnnnnaaakkke! The word flashed in her brain!
Though hard-wired to either fight or flee
Yet this time feet locked-in; frozen they seem
An auto-survival strategy God's gift to us peeps
Here she felt a whole life-time flashed
Before a scream and a shriek broke the silence around
Her brain hopelessly ordering her able hands
"Take that photo you silly b*t*h" but her hands too froze in time!

Another step taken, her foot would have landed
Mid-body of what was thought a fat brown snake
Lunch soon served under a canopy of giant trees
Whew! What a way to work an appetite she thought!
Behind them, the creek her sweet symphony she plays
Heard across the verdant meadow by a few campers
Basking in the warmth of the sun's afternoon kiss!
In this beauté of a place named Boulder Creek!

About this poem:
We have snakes where I came from but have not seen or been anywhere near a snake outside a zoo...I'm scared of them! But I was even more scared when I described to my husband what I saw. It looks like I stood an inch away from a Death Adder...He said I'm a very lucky girl...I have since reminded myself that I am no longer in NZ where I use to roam around the forest on my own without fear (no snakes in NZ - except the occassional two legged species that comes out after swigging far to many bottles in one day ;-D

NB: I just want to take your attention to that line: "take that photo...... silly b*t*h". I didn't really say that.... First I try not to swear... I'm not perfect though... But it's not part of my repertoire ... Second I would not start calling myself silly coz I don't want everyone else following... It just sounded better that way.... Thanks guys...just couldn't let you start thinking I'm a swearing cursing old trout ;-)

Gotta Simplify

Cluttered, Psychologically cluttered
With material objects in our lives
Chaotic moments. restless souls
Mental clarity a thing of the past
Elusive, unattainable, won't last

Universal law, ancient and true
We've been told get rid of old
Make room for blessings new
We all know, practiced only by few
Gotta have space for more blessings to flow!

Take a tour in my closet full of clothes
Trousers a plenty; tops too many
You said haven't worn for a year? Bin it baby!
Or at least hit the road to nearby Salvation Army
Be a blessing to others, let it flow lavishly!

Peace

I will come to you and ask questions
That I may know what's in your mind
I will come to you and listen to your words
That I may understand your pain

I will come to you and acknowledge your emotions
That I may empathize more than sympathize
I will come to you and hear your full story
That I may offer solutions if required

I will come to you and treat you the best I can
That I may prove myself and take away unfounded doubts
I will come to you that you may see what's in my heart
Working around with rules, never breaking nor bending

For when we speak, we are heard...
when we listen, we understand
when we acknowledge, we show respect
when favours we extend, we lift hearts and souls!
