FISH AND CHIPS
I'm not an expert on this subject but I thought I'd treat myself at the half way point when walking my dog.The bill looked somewhat higher than I'd seen on the menu.
The Barman had asked me if I'd prefer small chips or chunky chips and I'd said the latter.
He explained that they charge more for chunky chips because they're healthier and use less fat. I argued, 'Surely they should be cheaper if they use less fat!'
Next time I'll catch my own. Well the fish anyway. The chips I can live without.

Take a warm fresh bread cake with lashings of best butter.. put your fish on it and then salt and vinegar .. top on and BITE..
I still maintain fish and chips are best cooked in lard.. as fattening at they are...
Yep, I remember when fish and chips were 1 shilling and 3pence.. now that is going back some..

W and C it all sounds yummy to me!
During the winter months here I bake them but in the summer I deep fry them.
Eh, what about the Scottish with their deep fried Mars Bars... Ohhhhhh would like to try one of them..
Though Swizz chocolate is so creamy and yummy.. I love Lindt
CC, my home made fish and chips just don`t turn out as good as the ones from the chippy
Like i have previously said, i would be seriously fat, living in England!!
I personally don't really care where they come from, I just love love love fish & chips!
I think I'd rummage through my fridge and see what I can find. I think I have a bar of chocolate stashed away somewhere inside there!
Oops sorry Cal!
No, seriously we do do good fish and chips here.. but I guess where ever you grow up with them you enjoy them.. but I have had them all over and would always come home for them.
Zman, its a well known fact I'm a lousy cook but I can whip some some mean curry when I'm in a good mood!
Well my dear Wallops, if I ever get to see my Bobbikins and you come to visit me there, would you be so kind to bring over some of your yummy Yprkshire fish & chips??? Please??
I know right......
I shall stay up the whole night/morning.....
How 'bout 'deep freeze' and then vacuum packed it?
You just gotta pour it in a pot and heat it up on a slow medium heat.
What do you think??
Or, I've got a better idea. We go on Skype and I'll teach you step-by-step on how to make the best Malaysian Indian curry?
Calypso, are you working in Switzerland then? Pretty expensive over there I have heard. Was going to go in Aug but my friends decided to move back here.
I'm afraid it would take you approximately 1hour 25mins to prepare it from scratch
So, it's out of the question then, huh?
As for the ingredients, we could improvise on that a bit. Don't you have any Indian settlers there? How 'bout Chinatown??
