Dying to Be Apart...

Got 48 minutes? I suggest you watch this very moving video about twins Ladan and Laleh Bijanic conjoined at the head, who went through a pioneering surgical separation.

"Will you stay with me after separation?"
"I'll get rid of you and escape... No, I'm kidding. I'll be with you where ever you go."

Aspirin Is Good For Your Skin..1

The power of aspirin does not just get us through a cold. Its new power is only just being discovered by women around the world and it’s sweeping the nation: aspirin is good for your skin. The little white tablet that we all have in the bathroom or keep in the cupboard has amazing benefits to the beauty of our skin. Are you wondering how? Let’s take a look!
Few people know that the main ingredient used in aspirin, salicylic acid, is also found in apricots, oranges, red fruits and white willow. The latter are often used by cosmetic companies in a variety of skin care products and beauty masks for their beneficial effects. In most cases, it has the ability to regenerate and hydrate dry skin, remove wrinkles and fight oily skin. Here are some of its other properties and how you can use them to your advantage!
Benefits
It has been shown for some time that salicylic acid when used on the skin has a keratolytic effect and can remove the outer layer of skin, cleaning it from the impurities it’s accumulated. The acetylsalicylic acid content in aspirin has this same miraculous effect as the salicylic acid in beauty products, but with a slight difference: it has an additional chemical reaction called acetylatio. The acetylation of salicylic acid reduces the side effects on the body, but still boasts its awesome properties. It’s in this way that the simple, common aspirin makes an excellent base for the preparation of a powerful facial mask.

On reflection.....

17 years ago my son was born, I couldn't have kids in the normal way so had to have IVF. If I'm totally honest, i didn't want kids, as I was content with my life, my hobbies, never felt the need.

Of course women are different, they, well the majority, need them to fulfill their lives. June 25th 1998 my son Louis was born, and of course, I never say I wished I hadn't had him, the shear emotional feeling you get when your first child is born is an overwhelming felling of protection.

Recently there was a blog about the word sluts, and a story of how the dad congratulated his son for getting his nuts wet !!..and of course, if it was our daughter, we would have reacted differently.

7th of April 2007 my daughter was born, Lucy, now aged 8. The thing is she was not IVF, and as I found out 18 months after she was born she was not of my blood. You see my ex wife, after we tried 5 times for IVF again and failed, decided she wanted one by hook or by crook, so she had an affair got pregnant and passed Lucy off as mine.

I was always suspicious about her and eventually did my own DNA. It took me 2 years and a lot of soul searching to get over that, and finally in January this year, I allowed her to be adopted by her now step dad.

I've never had any contact at all with her since 2009. As I'm turning 50 this year, and hoping I get to a ripe old age, I have been reflecting, as you do in certain circumstances. My son is one of those boys that will disappear and make his own life, only ever contacting me when he wants something, but a good lad all the same. But as Ive seen Daughters with their dads over time, I now know I miss not having a daughter more and more.

Daughter are girls, women, compassionate, sensitive, caring and become mums, mums never stop being mums. The dad daughter relationship is different than it is with sons. There is always this sense of protection throughout there lives. I watch the way they play, how their imagination and creativity is at a young age.

As we have read, recently the awful story of the indian Daughter and how women are seen in certain countries, it just makes my blood boil. Yes men go out to work, are the hunters while women are the gatherers, yet i find it so distressing when men treat women in such an appalling way, if they really knew what joy a daughter can give in terms of love and affection, caring to everyone and anything, the world would be a better place.

So for the dads that have daughters, i'm sure you know what i mean.

I will never have the chance to walk my daughter down the aisle, see her on her happiest day, and give her away to what I would hope, to a man that could give her, what she gives in return.

Time is a good healer, but with it comes age,and reflection.

flossing your teeth is important

I once had an old timer dentist tell me, he told me that cavities start from in between the teeth. He said, that is why flossing is so important.

I just had my latest check up and cleaning. Many times when I have went in, I have the hygentist ask me what I do with my teeth. I tell them floss once a day, brush once a day, and use a whitening mouthwash. They are always impressed.

I never learned that cavities start in between the teeth...I thought that was very useful information.

Happy Saturday to all.

Fact not fiction.

(Germany) (AFP) –

With intensive care beds filling up and health staff running short, a hospital in Bavaria's Freising made an unprecedented decision to transfer a coronavirus patient to northern Italy for treatment

Through the highs and lows spanning 18 months of the pandemic, Germany had on many occasions taken in patients from neighbouring countries as hospitals elsewhere ran out of space.

But a fourth ferocious wave has sent infections to record highs in Europe's biggest economy, putting hospitals in parts of the country under immense strain and forcing some to look elsewhere in the EU for help.

While the absolute number of patients in intensive care still lies below the peak a year ago, this time around, hospitals are also ailing from the double whammy of a shortfall in personnel that has seriously hampered their ability to cope.

"Last week, on Wednesday or Thursday, we had to transfer a patient by helicopter to Merano," said Thomas Marx, 43, medical director at the hospital in Freising, a town with 50,000 inhabitants that is about 350 kilometres (220 miles) away by road.

"We had no more capacity to receive them, and the surrounding Bavarian hospitals were also full," he said.

Germany hospitals' ability to cope with the new spike in Covid-19 cases is being exacerbated by shortages of qualified staff as people desert the sector .

The hospital also had to send another patient to another Bavarian town Regensburg over the weekend.

"We are at the limits of our capacity, which is why we have to resort to these means," he said.

Marx's service is handling 13 intensive care cases at the moment, three more than it has capacity for.

Five of them are coronavirus patients, all of whom are unvaccinated.

With Germany's vaccination rate stagnating at under 70 percent in recent weeks, top health officials have pleaded for more to get the jab to stem the surge in infections.

Chancellor Angela Merkel made a new plea on Wednesday for the unvaccinated to get jabbed, saying "when enough people are vaccinated, that is the way out of the pandemic".

In a bid to get more to take the jab, Germany's parliament is poised to vote through new regulations for more curbs on the unvaccinated.

Under proposals drafted by the three parties in talks to form Germany's new government, unvaccinated people will soon have to produce a negative test to use public transport or go to the office.

At the intensive care unit of Munich Clinic Schwabing, senior doctor Niklas Schneider voiced frustration over vaccine resistance in some quarters.

"I find it really astonishing that vaccination is not accepted by the masses even though we have the possibility to get it. It is not completely understandable to me that so many people are allowing themselves to be misled by some horror stories about vaccines," he said.

Like the hospital in Freising, the Munich clinic is at full capacity.
"The team is holding on, but we are incredibly frustrated... because at the end of the day we are the last resort for everything that is wrong with society as a whole," said Schneider.

"The sick people who come to us, who are in mortal danger, we have to treat them, they need help. It doesn't matter if they were previously anti-Corona, anti-vaccine or double-vaccinated, although we don't have any of the latter in the ward."

Besides the relatively low vaccine takeup compared to other parts of western Europe, health staff also complain that more should also have been done to bolster their capacity.

AFTER DARK!

Officially, my forced labor season ends today; working 18 hours a day, seven days a week, for 45 days.

One of those days I met a gentleman of advanced age and successful seller of fine watches, Rolex; today at 2 o'clock in the morning, driving on a mountain road and brooding bitterly over the short novels of H. Murakami, suddenly, a comment came to my memory, from this merchant: "- Luis, men are children until they meet 120 years old- "; On the radio a Louis Armstrong piece sounds, suddenly the news cut of the time, interrupts the programming and something especially disturbing, spooky is heard in the baffles of the pick up truck: - "Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it's a lot bigger and more powerful than his, and my Button works! " Trump tweeted.-

WTF, mine is bigger than yours! After dark, a brutal disagreement with reality.blues

What is with guys who are 60 plus and older, they have kids but not sure if they want more kids.

Seriously people, there is an end for women to produce trophy babies for some old fart! Its called "geriatric pregnancy". If you start a pregnancy for a woman at 60 please do the math. I find it a bit ridiculous.
The question on the profile is Want kids? most of answers are" not sure", really at 60 years you don't know if you want kids? what planet have you guys been visiting? Just because technology allows people to play God, is this a mentally health issue? ego? .
