Yes to my experience and knowledge they creat employment, but there is downside on that. You just a number

What they do is lower purchasing power but also(partially)lower the cost of living by lowering the cost of consumer goods. However, the major things in life(such as a house)do not come down in price and the citizens then become reliant on bad credit to pay for such things(i.e. the mortgage crisis leading to the financial crash).

better check premises... there is a contradiction. i suppose you want to say that by lowering the costs of goods, it will increase the purchasing power.

Anymore, government create jobs in the USA. They set wage and opportunity standards too. They are the alpha and omega uniting all people, enabling them to spread their wealth without arrogance to better all current and future generations' living standards, that they hope will wipe out any memory of past failed socialism attempts. We need to revive capitalism soon!

Corporations are the Effect, Small Business are the Cause.
Corporations have efficiency of scale and pricing power. They employ mass production which requires fewer workers, more machines. That is why they are more successful than Small Business. Think Walmart compared to a small family owned grocery store. One has low prices the other has great personalized service. People today don't care as much for service as they do for cheap prices.
