Bayer AG bids 62 billion for Monsanto....

Monsanto, is a US company that is big in crop pesticides and GMO seeds. Europe has done so well without GMO and pesticides. This can not be good....I can't chat about it, but will come back later........Oh, Bayer AG is a German Company......

Narcissistic Supply

right off the presses from Wikipedia:

Narcissistic supply is a concept introduced into psychoanalytic theory by Otto Fenichel in 1938, to describe a type of admiration, interpersonal support or sustenance drawn by an individual from his or her environment and essential to their self-esteem.

The term is typically used in a negative sense, describing a pathological or excessive need for attention or admiration from codependents, or such a need in the orally fixated, that does not take into account the feelings, opinions or preferences of other people.

Hope this helps ya.........are you orally fixated today?? laugh

Red Flags!!!!

Last evening I engaged in conversation with a woman from Europe I've never contacted previously. As a matter of fact, I rarely look at who is online. I just will comment on blogs when I come on CS. But last night a woman's face profile caught my eye. So, I read on and found the woman's profile interesting enough to facilitate an email chat.

I will describe the adventure to my days of being a recreational pilot, it has significance in the realm of take off and landings. Before take off a complete physical of the outer craft must be made. Looking for any stress fractures while checking the prop to the tail of the plane..including gas tank levels since gauges cannot always be trusted. After the outside part is accomplished there was an 18 point checklist in the cabin that needed to be made before taxiing to the runway.

So, I did my physical check on her, one profile picture of her face and that was it......semi

So, ready for take off...

The windsock lied, (it shows wind direction), I went right into a headwind after my first email. She made a comment that I didn't read her profile carefullyvery mad (I read it twice). After explaining my comment she understood where I was coming from. I needed to speed the engine to get it off the ground. Whew!!! made it. Started climbing to 3,500 feet, so far smooth no turbulence. Arrived at altitude, leveled off and started looking for other craft. One spotted above me, so I veered in the opposite direction. All is well, until she says here's my email I'm not here all the time (Red Flag). Her last comment was a kiss goodnight (Red Flag). Then coming in for the landing I hit a little high on the runway and blow a tire. The plane veers to the left out of control hits a ditch rolls over and explodes into a ball of flames......

After our chat I went back to look at her profile and it was most likely hidden (not deleted). (Red Flag) So, I googled her pic and found another CS profile with her pic and a different name, but all the details from age to sign to hair/eyes were all different. (Red Flag) So, I google her email address...nothing found....I then searched FB and once again nothing.

As some are aware here, I made a mistake a while back, so I am extra cautious going forward....We exchanged some 20 or so emails and I enjoyed the chat. Her english was perfect and you could tell she was an intelligent woman......does anyone tell the truth online??? or are we so busy trying to outwit the scammers????

Moral of the story: if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.....it might not be a duck.......

One Solitary Life

One Solitary Life...

He was born in an obscure village
The child of a peasant woman
He grew up in another obscure village
Where he worked in a carpenter shop
Until he was thirty when public opinion turned against him

He never wrote a book
He never held an office
He never went to college
He never visited a big city
He never travelled more than two hundred miles
From the place where he was born
He did none of the things
Usually associated with greatness
He had no credentials but himself

He was only thirty three

His friends ran away
One of them denied him
He was turned over to his enemies
And went through the mockery of a trial
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves
While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing
The only property he had on earth

When he was dead
He was laid in a borrowed grave
Through the pity of a friend

Nineteen centuries have come and gone
And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race
And the leader of mankind's progress
All the armies that have ever marched
All the navies that have ever sailed
All the parliaments that have ever sat
All the kings that ever reigned put together
Have not affected the life of mankind on earth
As powerfully as that one solitary life

Merry Christmas everyone

R. I. P.

Will you Rest In Peace?

There are several choices in how one can spend eternity after they die:

1) Mausoleum buried in an above ground tomb surrounded my others (indoors)

2) Traditional buried 6 feet underground

3) Cremation

4) In an above ground cement casket outdoors (seen in Greece)

Recently I've been bombarded with marketing materials for a cemetery nearby my home. Once a week for the last couple of months I receive this brochure in the mail telling me of this special offer for a cemetery plot 50% discount. Now seriously who doesn't like a deal??? They have a plot with a nice babbling brook under a shade tree....ON SALE......

So, I start thinking, why do they keep sending me this literature? Do they know something I don't? What if the babbling brook overflows in a heavy rain and my casket starts to swim downstream? What if when everything dries out and they put me back in my spot they put me in the wrong spot? Now my headstone says Carol Crimshaw instead of Sands88......now I have people visiting me placing flowers on my grave because they think I'm Carol Crimshaw.....

Not sure if I want to invest in a grave there. What if I move? What if I get married again and she already has accommodations for two at her location? I don't want to have cemetery plots all over the country or world for that matter. I would start to feel like a male whore, sleeping all around......

I liked the one in Greece, I believe it was on the Island Crete. They had about 25 concrete caskets on the side of a church and over each casket they had like an enclosed bookshelf for their special memorabilia there were eye glasses, jewelry, coffee cups, books and other types of artifacts that the deceased person felt were special. I was thinking that I would have my IPhone along with my tablet, and a universal remote control in my little bookcase.....and my favorite cufflinks ( I like cufflink shirts).

My parents and sister are deceased and they were all cremated with their ashes spread over the same lake. But, what if I'm not a good swimmer, I could drown. Or just have my ashes blown in the wind like a song by Kansas called Dust in the Wind....

For those that like planning ahead, what would be your selection?????

For the Lurkers out there....

when I've written a blog I see the numbers of views that took place. The comments are just 'the comments'......usually the views outnumber the comments by 10 to 15 to one. I wish to know who are you viewers, are you shy to post, is your English not your first language????? Are you afraid to write that first word??

A ONE word answer is JUST FINE....an explanation is certainly your choice.....here goes...

What profession did you wish to be when you were a child?

For the more risky lurkers did you achieve that childhood wish??

I'm not excluding the regular gang, just trying to see more people contributing.......wow

Things I miss from the younger days.......

Things we did in our youth are disappearing......for example Drive in Movies. This was the best way to be safe with your girlfriend and have all sorts of fun in the car..alone.......The first movie I went to was the French Connection the only Frenching and Connecting was me all over her. I could not begin to tell you one thing about the movie...I never watched it..laugh Then bowling lanes, now a thing of the past they torn down the bowling alley in my town 15 years ago, I enjoyed balling bowling a lot, I even took it as an elective in college to just gym class. Now, gone the way of the dinosaur. Ice skating on a frozen pond...thanks to global warming ponds don't freeze sturdy enough.....what things have changed in your world since your youth????

It's OFFICIAL

Received the Judgement from the court today, I am offically divorced. Took a painstaking 9 months to finalize and several trips back and forth to the court house..... (one day after my mom's passing...thanks mom)peace

Ok, they say things come in 3's, so here they are: Last night my baseball team won their final playoff game to appear in the World Series. In their 54 years existence they have gone to the big dance 5 times. This may be the last time I see it in my lifetime....oh, it's the New York Mets. Sorry for you guys from Chicago who haven't been to the dance in 70, yes SEVENTY YEARS. If you beat the Mets I was ok with that, your so overdue.

Great stock trading this week (still one day to go). So, there it is 3 good things in a short period of time. Now, I know three good things are followed by at least a couple bad things, so I'm ready for ya....hit me with your best shot........

So, all in all 11 months of marriage (cost about 50k) not bad....grin
If you recall, I met her on another dating site, Skyped for 9 months and met in London and brought her back to the USA. Beautiful woman, very intelligent and 17 yrs my junior....who could ask for anything more.....ughh!!!! My words of wisdom......watch out what you wish for.....And I thank the friends I've made here on CS and totally don't like the in fighting....life is too short to fight with people you don't know....save it for the ones you do know.......grin
