Teach me to hate.

Warning, this is not a lovey dovey blog.
I was raised to think kindly of all. Be helpful , non-biased, non racist and accept people as they are. Give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Be polite.
But, as this world has evolved, I am getting more hate filled towards people.
Once those of a different persuasion just existed in the back ground. Live and let live. Now everything is shoved in my face.
Blacks were around some. Whatever. Store clerk, professional, news caster. I was not really aware of them being black. Or Chinese or Mexican or whatever. A restaurant here was owned by a gay man. My first belly dancing teacher was gay. It was one of those things we knew and ignored.
Today blacks riot. Gays march. People DEMAND we acknowledge them. Promote them. Glorify them. You know what? It is having the opposite effect. I no longer listen to the black news caster without noticing his race. Or the Mexican cook. Or cross dressing man.
I am starting to resent them all. Just leave me alone! Stop screaming at me to pat you on the head for being. I do not walk down the street naked. Do not fondle and tongue kiss in public. Don't stand on a soap box and yell my beliefs at you. Dont smash your front window because you dont sell me stuff at half price.
So realize all this diversity shoved at me IS turning me bias, prejudiced, racist, anti gay and all of it.
Just go back to being one of those people living their lives and respecting me living mine.

Any sane humans left on earth?

Every generation rails against the new. But, unless we live under cave man rules, Genghis Khan or Caligula, this has to be one of the most insane times of all.
Just read on a case in Wisconsin where a middle school wanted to prosecute 3 boys for s*xual harassment because they referred to a female fellow student as a girl when SHE wanted to be called they or them. Besides being UN-grammatical, it also dropped because they were not to impose their teachers rules on kids.
Our state flies a flag now that is supposed to show we include everyone no matter what they think they are. Hey...I love my "people of the fur persuasion"...IE dogs, cats, horses..pets in general...so I want that added to the flag or am going to picket discrimination!

We have people who have grown up spoiled rotten. Get a reward for existing. Get a ribbon so you dont feel bad. Dont work for anything, expect you are entitled to a free ride.
Cant get your way? Riot, shoot, protest. Dont get a raise because you spend more time on your phone than working..racism, bias, sexism, homophobism, ageism. Just stick an ism onto any word and expect to get your perks.
Anyone tells you to flake off, arrest them for an ism.
Wisconsin has a senator who is a lesbo. You know what? She acts like everyone else. I have no idea of her private life. Has a partner? Every did? Attends gatherings? I have no problem with her. Her private life is her own business. She doesnt shove it in everyones faces and demand we applaud her. What ever happened to keeping in in the privacy of your own home?

People dont need to see a couple sucking face and pawing each other in public. Not LGBTwhatever, not those teens, not those drunk bar fly that picked up a drunk guy.
Acceptance means minding ones own business. And that goes for keeping ones own business too.
Gun control thinks if no one has guns, we will all be kind to each other. Yeah right. Tell that to the suicide bomber, the poisoner, the fire bug, the ax killer, knife killer, drug dealer, estranged spouse, the road raged driver, the drunk driver and the others who WILL find a way to kill.
This country is pumped up on violence. Movies, rap songs, gaming and the idea that fun is all that is important. That and spending money. I watch videos of unclaimed mail that has been re-sold. You have got to be kidding me!

Someone actually orders a dollar store item, pays shipping because they are so lazy they cant go to the store for it?

I see prices...farm stores or department. $20 for a basic t-shirt. $60 for ordinary jeans. Worse..for ones so full of holes I would rag bag mine because wont stop farm dirt. Saw some that consisted of waist band, side seams, zipper placket and hems with a couple of strips between. Gees lady, just go to town in a thong bikini if your desire is to go naked. Of course they rip off $50 for those three bits of fabric too.
What causes inflation? The idiot thinking one must buy. Dont shop around, dont think, dont use common sense..just flash that old credit card in front of the machine. Going into debt made easy.

Business etiquette

I know manners have flown the coop. But, when running a business and making money off customers, wouldn't you think the old rules would still be a good idea.

I am used to no service in many stores. Find it yourself or try to find a clerk. "help in aisle 7" is code for "not my job, head for the bathroom and hide".

Of course that is almost better than the clerk who follows you all over trying to help. Please..just looking!

I'll call you if I need you!
I need to get a roof on my barn. Started last year and still looking. Call companies. Smaller have a machine. Leave name/number/message. And NEVER get a call back. Or promises to come look. And never see nor hear them again.
Got hold one of the roofers awhile back. He called back. Said he could do a prelim off satellite views.

Okaaaay?!

And still waiting to hear back. One company does it right, their message stated not til Oct for opening. THANK YOU!

Leave voice mail. No one calls back. Now onto tree service. Called back. Made appointment. AND...never showed. Never called.
Talking to lawyer for trust. Started last year. Secretary says he will call, has questions. Yep...still waiting. Good thing I dont have one foot in the grave already.
Seems the norm these days is never keep a promise. Never be where you said you would. Never pick up a dang PHONE to let someone know change of plans. Glad all these folks are so dad gum important. Hope you are late for the prize drawing and your business goes belly up.

Why books?

First off..I AM a voracious reader. All over the place..sci fi, westerns, history, fact and fiction. Catches my eye, I read.
And yet wonder why do we read books. They are ramblings of anothers mind and imagination. Humans write on all kinds of subjects. Some are instructional and that makes sense. Others are out of another persons mind.
Do they really matter to our lives. And yes, I write too. Not that anyone will ever publish or even bother to read it. I guess we have a need to live in a world that doesnt exist.

Come along on the ride all over the place. Where to start?

Farm...kittens have grown and except for one, where on earth have they disappeared to? They need to be tamed and given to new homes. Tom cats..I swear I am going to start carrying a spray bottle of vinegar. Spray on my house corner, posts, lawn chairs, bushes and anything and everything and I am going to retaliate and spray YOU with vinegar! Peeuw!

Got one hoof trimmed on my ancient mule. Two to go. He actually behaved for once. I am getting too old for this. But, no choice. Call farriers. They do him once and I never see them again. Me he tolerates if tied and has corn to occupy. Other humans?

Started to clip the ewe. I use scissors. I should get brave and try the electric and see if she can make it all the way to the roof.

I swear she can grow a foot of wool a month. Too bad she then fills it with crud and hay so not worth collecting.
New hens are going in and out and finally a rooster guards them once in awhile. One hen setting well, see if hatch happens.
Field renter is re-breaking the one field of mine that has been fallow for 30 years. Great..I wont have to mow that one too anymore. And can hunt for arrowheads and chips again.
People are going insane. Shootings and more shootings. Maybe some of it is cause people are to the breaking point? The spoiled gen cant stand growing up and finding out they have to actually WORK!?

And dont get praised for existing. Guess what..you are just another brick in the wall to feed the one percent. And seniors get fed up and say this is my retirement? Screw it, put me in prison. I cant afford rent nor a nursing home.
Handouts to everyone has OUR deficit so high it hurts. But, hey our govt. can print more. Or borrow from
China our enemy.

Govt is like a person who maxes out the credit card. So gets new ones. Until no more banks will give them a credit card. Hey..no prob! We will just print our own credit cards.

Do any of us really know the truth about ANYTHING going on in the world? My dad went through Germanys inflation after WW1. He predicted the US would go that way some day. He was right. Lets make $15 an hour. And corporations go fine..let US jack up the prices of the goods you make so you
STILL cant afford them.
For now...global warming...then why am I currently freezing?

Do women own themselves or not?

Roe v Wade. This issue is being dragged this way and that and way over there!

I am pro. But, do agree that limits make sense. That embryo has the POTENTIAL to become a human after it goes through its evolution. So giving 15 weeks makes sense. One month to find out one is PG, one to think and a third to follow through. I would also tack on, 3 times done, tubes tied. It is NOT birth control. If one hasnt figured out where babies come from by then, she is an idiot.
But, what I see is there are reasons to not want a baby. Most women know the answer right away. If they cant decide til 6 months, they wont ever not wonder and cry. And often it is severe problems for a baby that will doom it to a life of pain and suffering and limits. Banning a way to safely end that pregnancy is a way to put women back into back alleys, wrecking their bodies, tossing babies into dumpsters or beating it to death at some point. Or the sire doing it.
Since women found themselves in a situation, they have used some method to terminate. Coat hangers, herbs, trauma, suicide even. Instead of imposing some others will on them, regulate it.
And leaving it up to the states makes a modge podge mess. The richer travel and pay and the poor end up with another mouth they cant feed.
I see that those who order a woman to bear a baby, no matter what, cling to the saw, adoption. Good. So will you take that infant who is drug addicted at birth with severe medial issues. Oh..sorry..too busy, not available. BUT, someone ELSE will. Will you adopt that high risk baby that will need you to be a caregiver for the rest of YOUR life. Uh..well...uh... someone ELSE will. Yeah..thats what I thought. Like that home where the child will sit unwanted til put in another institution or kicked into the street at 18.
Is this country going to emulate the Taliban or Isis..or China? Or the Handmaids Tale. Or are women the best judge of their lives?

Birds of a sign.

Does anyone else have this experience? I am an Aquarian.February baby. Ex was an Aquarian. Now my guy is one as well as his twin. Twins gal is and even the same day as mine. My guys ex girlfriend was Aquarian.
So how did it happen that all of us Aquarians end up together.

Do we attract each other? Nature gets us together?
How many of you have the experience of having the people you know have the same sign as you?

Mandate by Dictatorship.

Last I knew, Americans were a Democracy and we had freedoms. But, our dear Kings and Queens of elected officials say bah humbug to that idea. Now the Mayor of New York city decreed via mandate, that all PRIVATE businesses shall toe the line ordered by him. Every worker must get a shot. And, after 45 days a second one. Employers must post proof and may get fined. They dont have to fire any worker, just not let them work.
Now a mask mandate doesnt affect a body for years to come. No issue with clothing rules. Otherwise we might run all over naked and that would open a heck of a lot of issues. Please stop sweating on my lunch! A mask is clothing. Not that mandates do much good when people hang them loose, under their nose or chin. Better than a mandate, teach dummies how they might do some good if worn correctly.
But, when government orders people to take a "drug", that is against the Constitution.HEPPA laws were made to prevent others from invading your health privacy. If a friend is undergoing medical care, I have no rights to ask their medical personal anything about it or their condition or even if in hospital. A law against domestic partners.
Yet government in a time, NOT of war, feels the right to tell people they must take a vaccine with so many questions against a virus with so many unknowns.
Give politicians an inch and what next. You MUST take statins so you don't end up in hospital? You must take blood pressure meds for the same reason? And the person you work for has to be the servant of the government to see that you do?
Maybe next Sir Mayor decides that no one may be a customer in ANY store unless vaxed. Not just entertainment venues, but things like grocery stores and drug stores and gas stations.

Or perhaps birth control orders so commerce is not interrupted by pregnancies or parental leave.
Guess what, when Big Brother says its for your own good..they are NOT your parents! They are your rulers.

Farm heading into winter.

And another summer bites the dust. What was it?? 6 weeks long.

Some stuff didnt get done and some did. Too late now to worry about it. Neighbor came with his mower vacuum and got the pine needles off my lower driveway. I had the upper raked.

And then wind and those hated two oak trees decided to do what the Catalpa did and give me a carpet of leaves. ARGH! I mentioned it to him and he said he noticed. Uh...AND?

I got the end of my dogtrot to the barn fixed. Got the 20x30 hunk of old billboard tarp out of the barn and boarder and I wrestled it up on this end. Then took plastic piece on barn end. Done. NOT. Hello wind so we had to put barn plastic up again.

Not I have a baling string over to hold it.
The joys of farms. Peat and Repeat. Tied the mule up in the spot I use, dumped corn on floor and sawed off his curled hoof. Nice part of him being 33. He puts up with it now. Mostly. Only 3 more to go. I said to him you HAD to inherit your fathers hooves..the jackass. No..he was a male donkey.

I left a message for the farrier last summer. He never answered. Story of my life..once with the mule and they avoid me like the plague. So I do the best I can. An old woman killing herself on an old mule.
Started the forced air outside wood furnace finally and gave up on fireplace. Now it will run til April. I fill at 11 or midnight. Boarder does at 5 am. I do at 11 am. And 4 pm. And maybe at 8pm. I feel like that old ad..I MADE the donuts!
The last 4 kittens are taming some so maybe can find them homes. The one I am keeping..Pippersqueek is getting smart. Came up from barn and she was in loggia. I said what are you doing on this side of the house. Cats live by wood furnace in winter. I squatted down to do something and she climbed to my shoulder. Sat there all the way into the house. Jumped down and went back to eat the food she had not finished earlier.
I went to put cat chow out..BLASTED %^**(%^#$&& possum! Back in for revolver and gone! I heard meowing. Opened kitchen door, Pipper walked right out, over to step door..I opened and off she went. My aren't you getting big and smart little one.

So carried live trap over by woodshed area and set. I will put an apple in tonight. Cats dont eat. Told boarder check and leave kitten out. Big cats know to stay out. lol.
Went to start truck to put in its carport and of course, rrrr, rrrrr, r r r. Shoot! So put trickle charger on tomorrow. Got plastic up on back of woodshed to block wind. Found out I had used the piece I wanted.

So cut new. Got nailed to 1by. Came in for drill...why is it wet and dirty on edge?

DANG NANG tom cats!! Geeze you cant wait!? Put in screws. Found out I did it backwards. Take OUT screws.

It is up and pulled up til they bring last wood up.
Not much to do anymore. So back onto the 8 craft projects I have going at the same time. And filling wood..filling wood...fillin......

Tofu is destroying the Amazon rain forest.

A big joke is that if we all became vegan, the land would gain. Baloney! A major crop used is soy. As in soybeans. Fields of it used to feed livestock. To make cooking oil. And is darn near every processed food people use. I can only use International Foods coffee creamer because it is the only brand without soy. Soy make my stomach hate me. Lots of people cant use soy. Funny thing is if I take soybeans from my field and offer it to my mule, sheep and chickens..they refuse to eat it. Yet, it is put in pet foods and animal feed and they are forced to consume it.
Brazil grows acres and acres of soybeans. Their idiot Pres pushes it. So farmers steal land from the indigenous, burn the rain forest of old growth and plant massive crops of soy. Climate change is the result of tofu eating people who think they are saving the land by not eating meat. So, instead of razing the forests to run cattle on grass, they instead raze it to mono-culture soybeans. Either way, humans eat and the land suffers.
When someone brags about eating vegan to save the earth...look again. Those veggies and crops need bare fields to grow. You are just exchanging one destructive practice for another.
Soy is not edible. And yet corporations feed it to us. Soy is high in estrogen. Reason they think why boys grow bosoms and girls get bosoms and menses at age 11.
The other thing foisted on us is palm oil. Cut down 100s of year old trees to plant palm plantations. You know what..I went back to lard.

Blasted trolls on craigs.

I found out that one can do pets on craigs. Go to community and pets. They warn about jerks who take free pets to feed to snakes or train hunting or fighting dogs. So they say one can do a $10 adoption/re-homing fee. So I post my 5 kittens...farm kittens, fall batch. I told the moms didnt think about winter and bred again. Asking ten. I got a couple replies and then notice, flagged and deleted. ??? So post again, fall bunch. Same thing. Now I am getting peeved. Do again, and against all I believe, post cell for text ONLY in body of add. Got a couple replies and..

flagged and deleted.
I looked at their feedback and saw some jerk said breeders and sellers like mad and bragging he flagged 10.
FINE! So change ad way up, say FREE and put in cell. Like I feared...gals who cant text more than ONE sentence at a time. Anyway..the up shot is I found homes for the 5. Have 6 but, against my better judgement, I cant part with the white one I call Pipper Squeek who likes to climb me and sit on my head.

Now I got..flagged and deleted. WTH!? So I dont understand the process. Any person can flag. Can they delete? Or does the robo do it without even checking why?
What is it with people who spend their time checking out other peoples business and companies business.
Man if I could tell them off.....

Farm September

Corn is at dough stage, beans just starting to turn yellow. New batches of kittens...sigh.. Hay is all in. Neighbor brought it in 25 bale loads. Beautiful hay. 40 pound bales or more and only $2 a bale. He always gives me a break. Maybe cause he gets paid right away. And is a friend.
I decided enough with plastic sheeting. Costs me $120 for 20x100. Lasts 3 years and shatters all over. Stupid idiots in environmental brigades. Plastic doesnt rot. So lets make it so UV rots it. Yep. Now farmers have to buy new every few years. And chase bits all over. Then toss in trash so it gets buried OUT of the sun so it never rots. Anyway..I paid the $24 a sheet for corrugated polycarb clear. Made removable panels for the back of the pergola. And a hinged door. I can take them down in summer. Of course Pa Kettle syndrome will hit and yep..ought to do that one of these days.
Woodshed is half full. Winter is supposed to come early and be snowier, colder and polar vortex. NOOOOO!!!

I know winters are easier than when I grew up. But, with old age, seem longer and harder.
I lost my black ewe. No idea why. Hard to tell with sheep. They like to die just because they want to. She was sick one day, down the next and then got pneumonia and dead.Bad part is there are no vets anymore that do farm animals. Just pets. My guy was here so helped drag her out before he left. Tenants son helped me dig a grave and bury her. I swear this hill is a mass grave yard. Have to keep track of empty ground for next graves. Some day a paleontologist will do a dig and wonder WT?

Hey, its a farm. I feel like I have dug a 100 or more graves in my life. Glad I live on sand. My usual idea is I could go dig a hole in the Sahara and either hit a boulder or tree root! The barnyard is clear of them. But, running out of room.
Two more possums shot. Hen still sitting but question if they will hatch. Too late in the year anyway. Poor chicks run around in cold temps in their BVDs!

Tenant was asking where the black walnut trees are. Uh..EVERYWHERE! I went in my "park/lawn" and gathered a bag. Put them in the barn. Have fun! They are tasty. Only issue is get the black husk off..wear gloves or be dyed for days. Then crack. I told him a hydraulic press works. Or put them on train tracks and let train run over them. I never tried that method. Afraid the walnuts would derail the train.

See if he wants more.
