He was a true patriot...and someone I always respected and admired. A man of integrity and honor. Someone who did not follow one party, but wanted what was best for America.
May he Rest In Peace..and may his family find comfort amidst the legacy he left behind.
What an unnecessary remark on a thread respecting one of America's own.

...as I have yet to find an accurate MSM
Account of anything COVID related.
It always amused me though, how Americans would pronounce his first name as "Colon" instead of "Colin".

Circa 1991 ish...saying ON CAMERA.. that he was still working through the valley of Decision
As to whether he was going to be a magical Dem.
Or a non Magical Elephant.
What I remember of Powell is the asinine decision to stop Desert Storm after 100 hours of action, as he was reported to have been horrified by the scope of the destruction on the Highway of Death.
Failing to exploit that victory, failing to use that momentum to drive forces right into Bagdad, failing to capture and/ or kill Saddam Hussein, gave rise to the need to do it all again, at considerable cost to men, material, and not to mention, the U S taxpayer.
Powell struck me not as a good military leader in any sense of the word. Patton, Montgomery, Rommel were great military leaders.
Powell was political. Militarily, he was milquetoast and marginal. I don't celebrate his death, especially that it was reported that he was double-"vaxxed." Neither do I think he was a great military leader.
He wasn't.
@Boh. Any chance you could go away again for a while?
You wish [ though actually not just you from what I've read.]
