Twister...

We are getting some severe weather this week. About 20 miles north, in Palm Beach Gardens, a tornado touched down flipping cars and damaging houses. The National Weather Service in Miami said the tornado that hit late Saturday afternoon had winds of over 100 miles per hour.
Luckily, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities.
I watched radar a few times today and areas 30 miles south of me were under tornado watch. As far as I know, there were no incidents there.

I'm not sure why the news reported it as a 'suspected' tornado. It appeared on radar as a tornado, damaged as a tornado, people were warned we were on a tornado watch and the news posted video of the tornado.

I have seen pea-sized hail in thunderstorms...But, never anything like this.

I follow a local weather station..I saw some of those pictures.

Crazy having hail that size and so much....
I took a video of some marble sized hail in Boca Raton 4 years ago. I was in the parking lot at work and you could hear them pounding on the roof.
The news said it is rare to get tornadoes in Florida. Somewhere I have a photo of my ex standing on four feet high of hailstones that ended up in the creek where we were rock hunting. The storm blew up so fast..he said what do we do? I said nose the 59 Ford wagon into the cut bank of the gravel pit as tight as you can and we turn tail to the storm and hunker down. Talk about noise. AND..not a single dent in that old steel wagon. Nature is the one thing we all should fear.wow
Right now even hail might be welcome, we are heading into our dry months without having had wet months and it is becoming a real problem, the local reservoir the lowest I have ever seen it and some areas in Spain haven't had rain in years, others that don't usually get rain had houses flooding again and again and here ... well, I had new gutters fitted a couple months ago and the guy said he'd come back with the first heavy rain to check if any adjustments were needed. Still waiting ...
They should actually do some research.
3 communities where I live were torn up less than 6 months ago.
If it was rare, our cellphones wouldn't light up with severe weather warnings.
Cleanup is underway:
