I wish I lived in the 1930"s

Marriages where strong.

Things where simple.

No drama and non existance of all these insane illegal drugs that has made the world go mad.

Homosexuality was rare.

People where not so dramatic.

People had well managed lives.

I swear I rather be alone than marry a irresponsible woman.
God where is the normal, non dramatic easy going heart of gold.
I am wondering if she exists, I am hoping<<<<<<<<<.

that would only work if you know what you know now and you were able to travel back in time , but if you were born back then it would have been the normal way of things

that's true virgo i think it was dog eat dog back then. especially getting money but people had different ways of thinking back then old school.laugh
Yes those things existed, but it isn't as bad as it is now.
I have to agree people seemed more real than, deceit to some people is just like brushing your teeth. If I know where I stood with someone I can have more tolerance towards them. Watching your back 24/7 isn't what I call a want.
yeah from that perspective goatee people were more down to earth back then. but they had to be my dad was born in 1928 he told me stories about back then. i would say i wish i lived back then he said no you don't.laugh it was "hard times" but i will say they don't make people like that anymore they broke the mold.

Its not all bad nowadays. A few things has improved or at least never got any worst. Depends on how you look at it.

I think most women would agree that back in the 1930's was at the very least, repressive.

Many homes never had electricity in the 30s, not much fun in the winter months. Outhouses were a common sight as well (imagine in the middle of a snow storm having to walk to the outhouse up to your waist in snow at 2 in the morning).

The world was always volatile, there was just less press and information availability.

It would not be possible to go online and write a blog.

Typical punishments for when a child done wrong usually involved a belt, length of rope, or a stick.

A trip to the dentist was best described as a experience not to be forgotten soon.
Yes, I do remember that movie. Hot car! Burt with his "rug" but he had a wonderful goofy smile. One of my favorite movies.

My grandmother told me about the start of NASCAR. I lived with her for a time when I was young, and the memories are great! She lived through so much, having been born in 1891.
there is a wholesomeness in the 1930's that is just not in most of society today, no one can argue that. I wonder though if the ends justified the means. Repression in all forms was very common as well as capital punishment and other things we either take for granted today, or never had to deal with.

In the meantime, society today may need a few more generations before we really learn to integrate the best of both worlds. The 1930's did have a wholesome theme which if was a theme for our society today, would be welcomed.

Take the best of our society today and the best of the 1930's and it would be a step closer towards a utopia.
rite kittens smokey and the bandit laugh thumbs up but i was thinking of the sequel to white lightening i just can't remember it doh laugh the lv that music head banger dan peek, from the group america died thursday.angel that's real, music im always watching AMC lol i lv those old westerns and old movies classics.grin all my grandparents are from ireland my uncle sings irish song the wild colonial boy he is.laugh
marriage was 'enforced' (not litteraly) and people didn't speak/act their mind ... all due social pressures.

Not thanks, I'd rather have it bad as far as honest ... I'll opt for present day style.... wouldn't want anyone to stick to me unless it true is outa love and free-will ..

dunno
*unless it's outa love and absolute free-will

The 1930's was a time of depression, Great Depression. During this period, many people were unemployed and many families didn't have much food. Daily life in the 1930's was hard and stressfull. This was how most people were in the thirties, miserable. The jobs were very hard to get. Imagine if you had to live in the thirties.

I prefer the way we live right now.
Goatee, i'd chose a diff time then now also.
