The pain of disappointment

How many times have you found someone you really like, you get on well, the mail is fun to read everyday then one day the person you are talking too either says something or does something that hurts you and that is the end you stop writing.

@The two above
As usual your really useful comments are appreciated.
I cannot change people, I can just change my approach to them.
It helps me to get over disappointments.

Take it easy, we are given so much great things in our life,music, arts, books, films... we are rather healthy, we all have somebody we like and somebody likes us.... let´s enjoy a bit.wine
It has happened a couple of times... I'm glad if I haven't lost too much time until I find out something that turns me off...
You haven't even met these people yet so at the most you should feel is minor disappointment not actual hurt.You're letting yourself get way to involved way too soon with complete strangers.
@mary
You mis-read the blog...... it says "How many times HAVE YOU".

I am not stating whether this happened to me or not
If you are the one that stops writing, maybe you give up too easily on people. When you are "talking" online, it is very easy to misunderstand-you should always try to clarify what the other person meant to say when they hurt you. One of my very close friends stopped writing to me and it does hurt because we had shared so much and he never gave me a real reason to end the friendship- I will never know the reason.sad flower
Sorry but it really looked to me as if you were speaking from personal experience.My apologies.handshake

How many times has this happened to me? Never.
I've lost count , how many times , but I find it can take minutes to fall in love where my heart is beating madly for the next word , and then my sences kick in and ,its all over ,when reality sinks in

@frees
Thank you for that…. My heart goes out to you to ease your pain.

@mary
Pleased to hear it …. I hope you never have to experience this
freesparrow - I agree people do give up too easy and it's easy to misunderstand what is being written. Maybe they had a disagreement but had the basis for friendship.

Not many times, well once to be exact. But enough to know how it feels.

It happens pal, for a reason or whatever you see it as.

We just move on and get stronger!
@itz
I hear where you're coming from!!
it was happening to me long time ago. often gets hurts by this. they were saying they love me and wanted to keep writing me until we grow old. but then, they just suddenly gone and I never heard from them anymore.doh
Never confused dunno
I've had it happen enough to know its infatuation with an idea or a hope. But if you really care enough you will push forward and keep striving to actually meet in person. Someone has to take the next step forward or its all in vain.

Its a big risk especially if they live a good distance. Talking online is just that, talk.
It's happened to me. Not on this site, but on other sites.
