BABY?

The pet name 'Baby' that is given to some women by the men in their lives comes a long way.
Where does this originate from?

A helpless baby, as he considers her as 'helpless', or maybe the most treasured life form is a baby, the 'future'?

Or is it just another handle?

Do the majority of women like being lovingly referred to as 'Baby'? conversing

No, I do not care for pet names, Dude.mumbling
Don't know where it comes from, but I don't like to be called baby... makes me wonder if the guy can't remember my name and it seriously lacks creativity laugh

Don't know where it comes from. Depends on the context in which it's used.
Us being guys and not thinking too well some time in the ability to communicate our "soft" side use that thinking it is something you ladies would like to hear. Were just trying to be pleasant and nice to our ladies.
And what about women that call their men "Babe" or "Baby"

My girl calls me that and I don't mind.

I think it is sweet.

Hey lil lady,
You shud try and slow down. You will find life is much more enjoyable then.
I gonna mad when someone try to call me "baby"!very mad
In bulgarian language we have a lot of very tender words, but cause my last bf was not from Bg I just called him "dear".
Jana, has anyone ever told you you look like Sopia Loren in your pic? Oop sorry kind of got off the subject.

Yeah Baby, ooooh Baby...yeah Baby... blushing
Personally I think that any Pet name is part of the courtship, and as long as love can be felt when hearing your 'special' name then the sky is blue.

Send you have got me worried now, all this time I thought I was chatting to Sopia Loren. Was on the verge of asking for her signature....but what the heck all cant all be as beautiful.
Send, thank you so much! Actually Sophia Loren is one of my favorite actresses, very classy and feminine! So I am very flattered! hug bouquet

Spd, you are right, it gives some special intimacy, that is much more exciting for me than exchanging silly pet names wink And in Bulgarian baby is just baby (newborn kid), so there are several other variants when we translate it :)

Stony, Sophia Loren is close to 80 now, but I am her (much) younger sister wink
Ok, you have convinced me.
When I first started chatting on the net, I was referred to as Baby. It felt awkward at first. But as we chatted along I began to get used to it. And in fact quite liked to be called baby. It sounded so loving.

Any pet's name is nice to hear esp if it's from someone close.
I totally agree with you.As long as one can feel the love transferred in the in the word. Thanks Honeybzz
I don't care what I'm called as long as it's not "collect"...cool
Mahal (means love) would be nice. But not baby.
I'd rather not be called any endearing names at all, but be respected and loved in the true sense of the word.

I can be the most romantic person, but all of that means nothing if there is no true love and respect.

Just my humble opinion. :)
I'm with you on that one @Rowdyrolling on the floor laughing
I came back from the place some person called their lover is BABY. now I understand that one man can called two women Baby at the same time. this is really folly... but it happened already in real life.not long before yay
@stony;

According to your ideas here, BABY is a valuble. But why SOMEONE can called womon more than two at the same time? It sounds horrible to women. THat means no any valuble of this word . It's just a normal symble. SO don't need to discuss here.

Only naive womon will be happy with this calling...doh
