Having fun with the client(s)
As some of you know, I'm a big believerin having multiple streams of income,
especially in the current economy.
It just makes great sense to have lots of sources.
Currently, I have 5 and some of those actually
have multiple streams within them.
However, this doesn't mean I necessarily work hard.
Quite the contrary actually.
Indeed, in each case I mostly work from my home.
This not only makes the daily commute mostly non-existant,
but also makes working extemely comfortable.
Actually, I have a lot of fun doing all the things I do
and meet & cybermeet some truly fun people.
One of the smallest streams keeps growing.
I sell a variety of quality items on eBay.
I've sold mostly my nature photos (I am also a photographer),
designer clothes, silk ties, books, new spark plugs,
and other items I find at deep discount.
I then pass most of that discount to the buyer and make some
profit too.
Two keys to maximum success at this are,
to list when eBay offers free listings
and to keep finding new sources of quality items to sell at discount.
But, the reason I'm writing this blog today is just to
share a bit of the fun I have doing this.
Take today for instance;
There's a guy who mailed me cash to pay for a 007 James Bond
paperback he 'won' from me on eBay this week.
I got the money last night as I checked my P.O. Box
coming back from taking photos at the lake in Princeton.
While e-Bay prohibits paying with cash (eBay owns PayPal),
I accept it, because it means more profit for me (no PayPal fees)
and some people prefer not to use electronic money transfers,
which I totally understand. There's far too much phising and
scamming going on.
Regardless, this buyer, Jeff, send cash adds a short note with his address included to mail the book and signs it "007 Jeff".
So, to just to have some fun and provide extraordinary customer service,
I e-mailed him back moments ago with the following message;
"Hi 007 Jeff,
I have just returned from a very perilous mission.
I went to the post office to mail out to you the top secret
document (code name Octopussy) you won on eBay.
I report that I upgraded the delivery from "economy" shipping to first class, because... that's the way Bond travels.
The agents representing the post office inform me that you
can expect delivery of said document next week, perhaps
as early as Monday or Tuesday. They could NOT say which day,
perhaps due to the secret nature of this endeavor.
Look for an overstuffed (lots of shipping peanuts included to protect against double agent detection) tan envelope.
As you know, I've already left positive feedback for you,
after Bond arrives, kindly do the same for me.
God speed you and protect you.
Jim"

Me i prefer DHL for sending documents that i want them to get directly to destination without not geting lost on the road it cost more but it worth it.
Yes, I mostly work from home.
How are you tonight ?
Jim Bond!....
