Sad news for Animal lovers

I dont know how Familiar you people are with the story of Lobo the Wolf,
and his apparent role in the formation of Yellowstone National Park Sanctuary. It was one of my Favourite story's as a kid.

It formed for me the notion that We as humans have somehow removed ourselves Partly from the guiding hand of nature to become Trespassers on this planet neglecting our role as guardians of it.

Anyhow enough of my ramblings confused
Another Wolf has meet the same fate as Lobo moping

Good Man Teddy Clearly you are on the mend back to 100%. I Imagine this is due to all the TLC from your CS Friends thumbs up
Australia's own indigenous dog the "dingo has received plenty of bad press because of what happen at Uluru (Ayres Rock) 30 odd years ago and on Frazier Island as well.
People should be aware that these dogs are scavengers when it comes to food and to stay away from them, most attacks on people by dingoes are due to the fact that people have teased or wandered to close or have thrown objects at them, But the press will never report that the dingo was protecting itself or its litter of pups.
i have no idea what tlc means... Well i know TLC (tables ladders and chairs is next sunday on WWE) but doubtfull if thats what you meant. But i'm sure the support of my friends here helps allot

wow
Non, Jac, I took Scooby my dog to vet a couple of years ago as he seemed to be limping slightly, the vet took an x ray & called me in to see the photo, he'd been shot, the vet said it was best to leave it in as due to the temperature of the shot when it entered there was little chance of infection, he only x rayed one leg so we don't know if there are more, the dog I had before that was poisoned by hunters who had laid it to kill foxes that might have eaten the birds they wanted to shoot, fortunately I noticed something was wrong & the vet opened his surgery specially, he told me another 20 minutes & it would have been too late, he survived but died of cancer aged 7, cause unknown.

Wolf Print is the UK Wolf Conservation Trust’s internationally recognised triannual magazine. It brings up to date information on wolf issues from around the world.

It would be interesting to have a detailed account of the psychology of hunting an animal like the wolf.

It strikes me, if its for enjoyment rather than any practical reason, then therein lies your means of stopping it.

If its for a practical reason, like attacks on livestock, then surely there are solutions there as well. I recall seeing a news article about badger baiting and its supposed link with the spread of TB to livestock. Farmers feeding badgers food supplemented with the kind of vitamins and minerals which helped to protect badgers from contracting TB and changing livestock practices was estimated to a cheaper and more effective way of controlling TB in cattle from what I remember. I realise that education is a slow process, however.

I just think tackling issues at their root and making the alternatives more attractive is more sustainable than anything else.
Sorry to here about your dogs, zee.

I still think getting into the minds of the hunter, or destructive person is key. They may not understand their impact, or know of alternatives.
Was Wolf Print where your previous link was from, mtn?

I haven't looked at that yet.
Jac If you really want to get to the Roots of this then you need to examine the need for Humanity to bear arms. It is a need born of paranoia and fear. IMO

Every thing else is subterfuge to this addendum .
Paranoia and fear, yes, but also power and control.
Zman I had no idea of the level of hunting going on in Spain.
Just googled it and found a load of sites offering
holidays with trophy Guides.
This is basically a Guarantee that you will make a Kill dunno
Non, I can only talk about Spain & the UK, but I suspect if you google any country you'll get the same result, I have friends in France who can give similar stories.
Obviously a case of Some money and no sense,
rather than "more money than sense"
