Police Brutality

This Subject has been inspired by a news report I just seen,
In regard to the Taxi driver tied to the back of a Police van. and dragged to the Station along the ground.

Eight Officers were Involved in the murder.
Is Police brutality on the rise or is this issue another case of the power of social media the fact that everyone now carry cameras.
Making it harder to hide the fact that this abuse of power is rampant in our society's.

Is It ever Justified ?

Evening Non.

This kind of brutality is becoming the norm in this part of the world.

34 miners shot dead in Marikana in August 2012 for daring to strike against conditions. sigh

A human rights worker shot and killed.

What they hoped to achieve by this beggars belief. Just for parking his taxi on the wrong side of the road. Hope they throw the book at them, but doubt it.
Non. in my view it's almost certainly because these days nearly everyone has a camera in their pocket & the means to publish those pictures to most of the world with a press of a button, the days when the government in the UK tried to stop CB radio because it would mean mere people could communicate with each other are long gone. cheers
i had some bad taxi rides in my time, some bad police rides to..but that shows what has changed??
How are you MickyMost,
I have for some time been thinking that Police were nothing But
glorified watchdogs of the elite upper classes. This seems more and more real every day.

Even though I was brought up to respect Law and order, I find it quite hard of late.
Zman
No doubt corruption has always been part of these organisations but one look on you tube shows a sickening reality that runs very deep and is disturbing.
peace
@ Non.

I guess I'll get crucified for my thoughts here, but when you go back into the past history of S.A. it's like a role reversal only black on black.

The white police force certainly knew about inhuman treatment of the populus during apartheid.

It's all about control.sigh
Scouse, How are you today. Quite sad don't you think sigh

Elmo,
Absolutely sickening behaviour. Shows the level of fear that these people Invoke that No one could find the voice to do something.

Is it The hidden face Fascism or What dunno
MICKEYMOST
I wont be Crucifying you.
I often Say that when Éamon de Valera Got the Irish Republic of the British.
He took the stick and now we Beat our selves twice as hard with it.

So I agree with you.
History is forgotten when there is money to be made. dunno
very sad indeed, Non....very sad...
Agreed delta.
But Like Politicians Im sure the enter the job young and Idealistic.
It does not take long for them to become disheartened. dunno
Jim,
a Cheeky Proposition indeed. dunno
Exactly Non. When they are young, they are like cowboys and want to catch all the criminals. They get older, they know better and they mellow.
non you say respect the uniformlaugh dont you mean run???as a kid you dont know politics, but when you see a copper you run or hide??is it taugh or handed down from generation to generation??
scouse laugh
Yes run and hide, I respect that laugh thumbs up
It is only justified if they have to do, like say if they confront dangerous criminals, but what we see these days that a number of them is abusing their power to even do worse things ..
When the courts of justice doesn't punish police brutality, one can ask himself why obey laws.
