Moving, packing, starting a new life.

I am moving to another city. Been 40 years born and living in the same city, maybe it's time to start something new in a new city with new people as well. As people say life begins at 40, here I am, about to start something new when I am 40.

As I am packing, something came into my mind. Packing your things in one thing, and it's one hell of a work, deciding what to bring, what to leave. Beside those things, moving to a new place means you move your life too. Then how do you "pack" your life and move it with you. Well packing your life is another thing. But I think one rule apply to both, you should only take what you need and might be useful for you. Worry about our friends, well good friends is more than just living in the same city. I have a good friend, we never live in the same city these last 10 years. But we manage to meet at least once a year. If she is not coming to see me, I am coming to see her. At the end of the day, your life is not where you are, but where your heart is, whom you keep in your heart.

Do any of you have experience in moving? Please share, I need some advice. This is my first time experience moving to another city. Am I nervous, hell yeah. Am I excited, I sure am. Looking forward to it actually.

lhhoooooo..... we just planned to meet next week Saras ?

Catfoot has good experience of moving place, as he is doing now...
When I moved to the area I am in right now, the first thing I did is drove around to get an idea where everything is. It is a good idea to find out what areas of town not to be in.

I found it very exciting too. I love walking downtown and just taking in the view of a new environment. :)

You'll be fine. Don't jump in anyone's vehicle you do not know. lol...if you didn't already know that.

Good luck....keep an open mind...have fun!
I forgot to add...I moved to this new city when I was 40...lol...kinda funny.
wave Hello, moving does rattle ones life. Afew years ago, before I came down with ms, I traveled a lot in my home province, working all over. I found ,if I dwelled on the positive, the travelling went down better. I made a lot of new friends, seen how big my home province was. It was a life lesson, that made me a better person. Good luck to you on your move.
Hi Sarasvathy! Moving stuff is always heavy and tiring work. I would call for a transporter in any case, it's worth the money!

Moving can be very chaotic and stressful,,as you already said, take only what you genuinely want and need,,lots of unwanted items will clutter youre new place up before you can even begin to get settled,,be as organised as possible,,and although its easier said than done try youre best to keep calm and focused during the whole move....Look forward to that moment when you can sit back, relax and anticipate new beginnings in youre new enviroment,,best of luck...cheers crying wine
Sara, I wish you good luck with the move and hope all goes well. I also want to wish you good days in you new life. Life does start at 40 for us women, no doubt. So enjoy and I hope you new home will be a good one! yay teddybear hug

Smart, baru pindah Juli kok. Aku coba message kamu tapi diblocked :(

Hi Johny, thank you for the input. Actually I am quite familiar with the city, been here couple of times and got many friends here. That's why when I decided to move, it was this city in mine. But yeah I need to go around again since many things have changed since the last time I was here and of course coming for holiday and living is different.
1to1, traveling is a great way to live! I love traveling too, but a place where you call home is also important, so I know where to come home :)

Callei, I only take some baggages, basically clothes. Books I will send by post, and anything else just buy there :) I have been living a light life, and actually living in a suitcase is not that bad, you can move anytime you want, just take your suitcase :)
