Beef brisket

So I was in the supermarket and I found a 4.5 lb Beef Brisket for only $10 on sale. Got the other fixings already. Guess what is going into my crock pot for dinner tonight in just a few minutes..?

Hi everyone.wave I cooked green beans, cut up potatoes, corn, chopped onions and a piece of ham slice in my crockpot Wed. It was delicious! I made homemade cast iron skillet cornbread. Yummy! My salad was sliced tomatoes, sliced cukes and onions with oil and vinegar drizzled over them! Besides all of this being very tasty, it was very healthy!yay
The meat looks a bit old by the colour.
That is a good one Nicefeet ,I was asking myself
Is there no Butchers shop in the U.S ? and what about markets ?

I see big super-markets , but no markets or a butcher shops ?confused
Butcher shops have been more or less illegal in the US since the 1960s. The FDA standards written back then were designed to close all the small mom and pop meat and fish stores so as to clear the way for the mega food sellers. Any shop selling anything that may reasonably be expected to cross a state line, or be carried across by a consumer must have some very expensive equipment, keep detailed records, have inspectors, supply offices for the inspectors and 1,000 other things that essentially slammed the doors of small corner store shops. I miss them too.
We have butcher shops in Wisconsin. I occasionally buy fresh meat from one.
Guadal, since I have the sniffles, I hope it has some anti-biotics and since I am too skinny a little snip of steroid too, and to make me grow big, go ahead tweak my DNA. rolling on the floor laughing
looks very fatty to me does the americans allow all kinda of growth prometers to be given to the cattle I heard they do its outlawed here just wondering
happy go lucky your right I have seen it in the tomatoes lately genecally modified wrote very small so you cant see it there brining the stuff in by the back door not fair on people who think there been carefull with what they eat
@johnjjm- I know I try to be somewhat careful what I eat. And what they have decided to start doing to our banana here.....now I want even eat one. Sad part about it is I wonder what they are putting in the foods I don't know about crying
Hmnn taste yummy Ken, I'm so hungry. What about egg rolls for appetizer?
well happy just o let you know Ireland is the biggest exporter of bananas in the world not bad for a country that cant grow them figure that one out its the truth
johnjjm...laugh If that is the case all I can say is you irish are excellent bussiness people. I live in a tropical area so we can grow them. I have no luck growing them. I do grow excellent pineapples. And mangoes! Just no luck with bananas...my show off neighbor grows nice bananas mumbling The fence really isn't that tall uh oh
JJ, don't hold this as a fact or anything....but if it adds more money into the business owner's pocket...it is most likely legal. laugh

But Ken, you got me thinking now what my next meal might be. grin
As requested, here is how the meat came out. Yes looks fatty, but really I trimmed quite a bit off before the cook process began.
