India's Daughter

Finally after being banned...it is now accessible for people to watch...the story of a female medical student brutally raped and killed by men...sadly women are still treated as sub-human in this country...no celebrations are done when a female child is born...and rape according to one of the guilty party...he said a woman is more responsible for a rape than a man...unbelievable to fathom a comment coming from another human being...but incredulously the government decided to ban this documentary...

Hi Lou
All coming back to religion again.
hug wave
Not sure this can be put down to religion, or culture maybe dunno but whatever it must be hard trying to drive a country like India forward when a percentage of the population are morons, think if I wear running it I'd be tempted to move them all into one corner of the country & just put up a barbed wire fence complete with minefield to stop them getting out frustrated
lets your voice on this lolo

It is hard for some traditions to die such as the caste system or the dowry...despite it being banned in the country...these religious or cultural opinions about women still thrive but many clearly do not want their daughters/mothers to be treated with such brutality...nor allow men to make excuses for their behaviour...

I am interested why the government banned this documentary in the first place?...what are they afraid of?...
Ken are you an expert on Hindu religion ! please dont make wrong statements here
Here is a clip listing five most dangerous countries for women...

low low ,I never told you not to post the blog but you were being biased here so just showed you the mirror but
you are being adamant here so have it your own way
naiy
Not being biased here at all...feel free and watch the video and comment about its content...
#niyanathumbs up for your balanced views.
ken
Well...the blog is about having opinions and yours are welcome...and I agree with your comments...since we have much information regarding practices from all over the world...one does not have to be physically immersed in such practices to report about them...

Thanks for your comments...wine
naiy
You are showing your pea brain...by disrespecting this blog which intentions are to give voice to the victim in this video...remember it was banned in India...what part can you not understand?...as I said you are welcome on my blog if you have something to say pertaining to the documentary...this is not a forum for verbal assaults on fellow bloggers here...scold
zman
I suspect that people are taking this documentary as personal property and the only ones allowed to comment are those from the country where the crime took place?...an embarrassment for sure...

As I have said before many people in India rioted due to the mistreatment and death of this women and others...clearly people want attitudes to change...

No one can tell you you cannot have an opinion...you have the right to voice your opinion...whether someone disagrees with it or not...name calling is unacceptable...wine
iota
No name calling here...scold

The colonial days are over...India is free from it now...and regarding his opinion...I see no bad intentions here...you have pride which is good but please refrain from this name calling...why don't you give us a look into what the government of India is doing about the inequities of people...from the last conversation we had?...
must wear my glasses when typing..my spelling..doh

First I responded to his derogatory reference about my country or its inhabitants because he was opinionated.
Then he called me names. Then tell me why shouldn't I react?
"Caesar's wife is not above suspicion. "
The shear audacity of these guys to do it on bus and think they will get away with it shows their belief it was right, it only really came to the attention of the media because of the murder and what they did to this poor women, what this poor women had to endure and what must have been going trough her mind in simple unthinkable, otherwise if it was an individual case, we most certainly would not have heard about it.

I still find it strange that you focus on the remarks of 1 or 2 individuals, directing your opinions in the wrong way..
#Ian
You have three issues. Let me take one by one.
One, If I ever condemned this incident or not? So you didn't read carefully the comments of "loulou"
Two, that person? You or "loulou" have no idea that this person is prejudiced. And its my studied observation that he is self righteous. He makes an opinion and unscrupulously cling to it, A healthy mind, instead, thinks rationally before making or holding some opinion.
Three, Well I don't claim that India is at par with the developed nations. She can't be and shouldn't be expected to be. But she has a remarkable legacy regarding women respect which deteriorated with time. There are reasons and there is a history. But yes still the intent persists in content. And I don't brag but realistically, the majority favors the equality of women, in the order of 99%. Awakening is emerging and fastly growing.
ian
If that comment was for me?...I am merely making sure that people remember to be civil...and the comments are directed so that people will stop making it a personal issue...as for the disrespect of that poor med student...I stated long ago it was opportunistic...she was treated as sub-human without going into the gory details...she was thrown from the bus with her friend after the rare and beating...left to die...that says it all about the disrespect to women in general...

The police may in fact be a problem turning a blind eye due to their own thoughts and feelings...they are now getting sensitivity training according to what I have read...not to mention more police patrolling the city...not sure about the rural areas...

In want of a fair dealscold .....I rest my case.

Lets put the person in question to rest...it is getting off topic...I was posting this documentary at your request...lol...wine
Hello L.L.,

If I remember correctly, not too long ago I heard on the radio were India is starting to take more steps toward protecting women there.

It is nice that you brought this story forward. We are all human and we all deserve to be treated fairly.

Lou..joint wasn't for you, but when even a lawyer says the women should stay in doors and there is no place for women . What chance have they got.
ian
Old ways or values die hard...but the lawyer was arguing the case for his client...so who knows what his real opinion is...but does send a pretty bad message for women's rights and freedoms...
lou, thanks for poting this...

im still in bed and need my coffe so i can put my thoughts togetherdoh
you change it by eradicating the source..thats 36 million uneducated stupid moronic indians..
lucy
Thanks for your comments...hard to change some people but with help...it can be done...but people who do not want to talk about it...it will take longer...I think that the story of this victim will make the government be more proactive in seeking justice for women since they have rioted...due to the ban on this documentary...fingers crossed...
crazy
Have that coffee and relax...hope your day is good...for me working night shift tonight...enjoying my time until then...coffee
Lou, that documentary broke my heart. That poor girl studied and worked so hard, just to be killed in such a way, right when she was ready to enjoy her life and help her parents.

Also makes me angry that people can be so cruel-hearted and narrow minded. So what if she watched Life of Pi at night with her boyfriend?

Thanx for posting. sad flower
But not only that her parents sold their land to Kay for her education so she would look after them financially ..now they are even worse off than before
It makes me thankful that I grew up and live in the Western world.

Thanks for posting this loulou and highlighting the issue again, it's interesting to see the true colours of some people emerging - name calling and quarreling when the topic is the misery of other people - but can't say I'm surprised.
ian
Sad but true...her parents made a sacrifice for a better future...her parents received monies from the government for her death...not that it would ever replace her...can't imagine the heartache that family is going through... sad flower
rabbit teeth and granny glasses hope your surprised now,
naiy
You are one step away from being reported...if you have nothing to say regarding the documentary...be on your way...you have been warned...scold
dont bother low, zimmerman has already done it,its his favourite pass time either he's reporting people or rating pics of middle age females
There is much to be said for American laws that allow women in some states to carry concealed firearms just for such occasions. Many women in this state do so, especially when traveling alone at night, or working in isolated places.
lucy
Communication skills and manners are very much needed...lol...one doesn't have to resort to name calling to get a point across...hard to fathom that some here are taking this personally...I figured we are on the same side but some like to cause waves...

Thanks once again for your comments and kind wordswine
ken
Never owned a firearm...I am not afraid to go out at night but I do play it safe when going into unfamiliar areas...usually take my keys and wallet out of my purse...just in case I need to gouge someone's eyes out and save me the hassle of cancelling cards if my purse gets stolen...wine
nidi
You are right...there seems to be a backlash in the women's rights movement here in the west...I wonder why?...perhaps some men do feel entitled or maybe have a need/desire for control...

Always good to hear from you and I will continue posting such documentaries... wine
LouLou
Gonna try watch it now wave
