Hi everybody ...saw the moon late at 11pm and it was above my house .
I missed it when it was rising from the horizon.
But still beautiful anyway.

We had planned to have our own party on the beach....but ...A hurricane started to blow... : sign :
Sorry ...didn't get the emoticon right again ...: sigh : : frustrated :
You're putting spaces between the ' : ' and the emoticon description. scold
LEAVE OUT THE SPACES...then you would've gotten sigh & frustrated instead of : sigh : & : frustrated :

It has been said in all the asylums the patients have gone stark raving bonkers.

The professors have said it is a fallacy that people change with a full moon, who do you believe?
wave Going to be a lot of wacky females today.laugh ......................................super
Forget about the professors Red.

If you want the straight story on "lunacy" and the full moon, talk to nurses who work in psych wards or ERs, cops and bartenders.

cowboy
The moon affects tides
We humans consist of approx 55-60% water
It stands to reason that the moon would then affect us.

I went out under the moon last night...it was glorious cheering
wave Molly!

We're watery awright. laugh
And that may contribute to full moon lunacy. tongue

Also, our ancestors have been living with the moon for a long(!) time.
Prior to electric lights, it was much easier to do things at night when the moon was full.
We may well be genetically inclined to be more active during a full moon because we'd be more efficient...hunting, fishing, harvesting crops, etc.

'Couse, it would also facilitate activities such as theft, burglary, staying later at the bar (pub, if you prefer roll eyes ) and various other forms of mayhem.

Really not all that mysterious or surprising, when you think about it.

Living with electric lights, we don't appreciate how much light the moon provides. Try this...
Take a walk in an unlight area under a full moon. dancing (The next couple nights will probably be moonlit enough for this experiment.)
Go back in two weeks, and try(!) taking that same walk under a new moon. uh oh

cowboy
BUT...

Is there something more subtle than gravity at work?

cowboy
Hey Molly,

Did you notice how I compared the beauty of the moon shining through Lake Michigan haze to your pic?
Pretty cool, eh? batting

cowboy
No not really. Its about mass and gravity, folks worked that out hundreds if not thousands of years ago. Its the floor of the ocean we know very little about. And unfortunately, there's very little written about it. So maybe its seamonsters we should fear not aliens.heart beating
Hey Mic,
I found this on facebook.
Its a great idea for all people in cloudy regions laugh
