Washing clothes

Like most of the men and some of the women here I wear clothes till they have too many holes. Usually they have done a good job of capturing body odor by then. So I throw them away and a lot of the odor goes with them. Then I buy new clothes. You can tell the poorer members of CS because they have photos posted without any clothes on. A true mark of poverty and one wonders what kind of person would be attracted to someone so poor they can not afford clothing. Yesterday at the store I heard a rumor.I was thinking some of the poorer men and women here on CS may be interested in this.

A few months ago someone got caught in a rain storm and after his or her clothes dried he realized they didn't stink as much. He experimented and discovered that if he/she intentionally wet them in a bucket, not only does the smell go down, but the water changes color too becoming a dark brown or gray in color. Sometimes with repeated soakings the clothing almost looked new again.

According to the sales clerk I was talking to the store owners are very angry at this person because now, not only are they not giving up money to buy new clothing as often, but some of their friends have started to do the same thing. The practice is called washing. There is worry that if their washing fad catches on it would be a disaster for the clothing industry with many jobs lost as a direct result. There have even been rumours of some kind of washing robot mechanism someone built to automate the clothing wash process.

I present this of mixed mind. The idea of washing seems controversial I know, and I would certainly not want to cause the loss of jobs in such an important industry as the textile industry. However for those men and women on CS who lack enough income to wear clothing or even to buy clothing, perhaps this previously secret process called washing may offer some relief and at least present an illusion that you have income. The next time one of your neighbors throws clothes away because they ranked enough to be discarded, why not rescue and pull them from the trash pile and submit them to a few cycles of the 'wash' process and don them? Then you can proudly post photos of yourself with actual clothing on.

Just imagine how much better life would become for you, if instead of being discouraged by your obvious poverty, a potential suitor saw a profile picture of you in actual clothing and began writing you?

Just a thought to pass the morning away...

It's hard to know what to worry about the most

The main choices seem to be:

1 The imminent showdown between God and Satan will bring forth a medley of unnatural disasters, the like of which we can hardly imagine.

2 The entire World is soon to be taken over by fanatical Muslims.

3 The Illuminati, to the soundtrack of Beyoncé and Madonna, are going to take control of our minds and enslave us in their New World Order.

Not to mention all the lesser tragedies we keep being warned about in these forums and blogs that are coming our way.

What on Earth is to become of us?

how lucky

we all are, we are alive. we are intelligent we are articulate.
We are connecting in a way today That thanks to technology would be,
I'm sure unbelievable to generations not so long past.
As a matter of fact Some people today refuse to believe our technology is our own, The great good harvests of our intellectual evolution is that of
Aliens or inter-dimensional Angelic Messengers. And that demons or lizard people are pulling humanities strings ensuring mankind is capable of great atrocities, and that we are merely pieces on a chess board positioned between heaven and hell.
Personally I think its all on us the good the bad.
The Pleasure and the Pain. All down to me !
There are none of us good yet we all contain the seeds of greatness.
So rather than than being the administrator of death by one thousands cuts, I will try to nourish these seeds where ever I find them.

May the force be with you.

Female modesty, real or imagined...

Many men will know. Here she comes boys. With the deep "V Cut" blouse, D cup black lacy Bra, and the skirt almost up to there. Wiggling on by. Holes in the fishnet panty hose. Always too much cheap perfume, so that even the bees won't follow too closely. And to complete things, the big hair a going, full tilt. And the bright red f-ck me heels. A wad of gum in her mouth, popping loudly away. Now, another lady saunters on by, but much more modestly attired. A real first class Bobby soxer, short clean pony tail, collared white blouse, covered with button up pastel sweater. No slit skirt down below the knees, and low lift pumps as foot gear. Both sort of hot. Fellas, of course we'd size both of them up. But if you had to guess, which one would complain about men who gawk as being all pigs? The Bard knew well. Me thinks, me Lord, the lady doth protest too much.

Very high quality socks

I have always bought things for quality and comfort specially clothes and accessories.

One of my daughters gave me three pairs of socks as a gift on my last birthday (August).

I thanked her but being summer, I packed for winter. Which is perfect now.

I had them on this morning and wow... I mean wow...

They're the best socks I've ever had.

So I googled and found out, golly they're pricy but well worth it.

The name of the product is Feetures. For those who are interested you might like it.

For men, my son loves the Peterglen brand I got him.

Men try them.

Leather...

When given the choice of leather or fabric upholstery I prefer to sit on, the answer has always been fabric. My main chair is fabric but one of my office chairs is covered in a man made Ultrasuede. Usually, I drape a towel over the Ultrasuede so it doesn't show signs of wear. Leather seating from experience, is usually stiffer than fabric and I'd guess it's because of longevity. Leather tends to stretch and pucker.

Last month when I needed a rental car, a got a Mazda SUV with leather seats. Yeah, uncomfortable as I imagined despite all the motorized adjustments possible.

The one thing people mention about leather is the smell. There's a mystique about processed animal hide that people are attracted to. Maybe having leather goods is a sign of wealth? I don't know.

We were at Ikea last weekend and on my shopping list was a chair. I must have tried 20 and one high-back fabric style was my top choice. They also offered a leather cushion version for $100 more. Decisions, decisions... back & forth trying the fabric versus the leather, there was a bit of Deja vu... the leather smell reminded me of a baseball glove I had as a kid.

I bought the one with black leather.

Dominant Jean...

I've been known to wear clothes until they are rags. Polo shirts for work date back to companies I was with 20 years ago and they don't go to waste as they become cleaning rags for car polishing (note to self, polish car this weekend) but my Jeans are a different story as they have zippers and snap-buttons. It's rare, but when a zipper breaks and I'm not able to repair it, the cost of having a seamstress replace the zipper is usually more than buying a new pair of jeans.
Those Jeans with broken zippers have been placed in clothing donation bins for recycle so someone can decide what to do with them.

When the snap breaks, I've been known to sew on a button, but the stress it too great and the button often comes loose. So, there have been several favorite Jeans of mine, stacked on a chair in the closet that are missing snaps.

Amazon sells replacement snap button kits in 2 different styles.
The first having to punch a hole where the back part gets hammered into the front. The other style uses a small flat screw to attach the button. I chose the one with the screw and it works perfectly!

Now, one of my favorite Jeans is wearable again and it's correct to refer to it as the Dominant Jean.

Thanks for reading my blog...
