Dealing with Trolls (unauthorized version)

In the unlikely event that anyone would like to reply to Lee's rant, this is the place to do it.

Outburst No.1
Yes it seems like a simple thing to do, but sometimes they pose as a regular poster, someone who wants to just have a laugh and join in, but in time their true agenda is revealed and they start to attack others with personal attacks and they always try to justify their wicked ways to everyone…they will play the role of the harmless victim, while at the same time throwing disgusting insults at their target….

They start to stalk their target and try to provoke them, but some targets are smart, have seen it all before and learned from the experience, so those trolls must walk with their devil tails between their legs, because their spineless tactics don’t work….

..Don’t let them get into your head, don’t allow them to feed off your reactions, your angry reply posts is like gold in their hands, your emotional outbursts are like heaven in their hands, because they do want to break you down and make you blow a gasket….
They want you to be their puppet and be able to pull your strings, anytime they want to, so watch out for their tactics….

Gift giving this holiday season...

The top of my list is a granddaughter, 10 years old and more toys and gadgets than any child could need. Mentioning the perplexity of the situation to a lunch friend, some woman (in a group with others) who overheard me said "Get her a gift card. That solves all your problems"

I thought, it's a twist to someone (me) formally known as 'Uncle Cash'

My daughter suggests food and to get her a BurgerFi gift card.
I usually pass one of their restaurants on weekend travels and they have a bonus program for a limited time of a $5 kickback for every $25 in gift card purchases.

One less gift to think about.

I don't know with him if who I am in his life... let see after two weeks... good night

Could this be the way to success in romance?

I love to read. i will read just about anything lying around. Old newspapers, throwaway articles from the freebie newsstands, old magazines and on and on.

But my true passion is reading books from the library. During my time away from work or where I have no job I will go to the library and read. i have books when I go home that I have checked out. And that is where this story leads to.I have lately begun reading Ray Bradbury books. "Fahrenheit 451", I just finished "Something Evil Comes This Way" and now I am into "The Illustrated Man".

But let's get back to "Something Evil This Way Comes"! This book has a paragraph on love that perhaps is the solution for a man to finding the right woman. The scene takes place in the library where the protagonists are escaping bad guys from a horror carnival. They are Jim and Will, 2 kids, and will's Dad, Charles Holloway. As Will asks his father, and by Will's admission there was a puzzling relationship between these 2, why he married his mother. Charles Holloway answers:

In part, because I didn't mark this area off and I lost the whole monologue because I forgot to, Mr. Holloway describes his wife; ".....your mother has a wonderful set of eyes. I look at her eyes and I see that she see's love, and care for us (I am making part of this up because as I said I forgot the exact place in the book where it lies but you get the idea of his answer to Will) and I love her eyes. I see her nose and she (again I am making this part up) has a wonderful that smells the right things in life. I love her nose! Charles Holloway goes on with more love for his wife and what she has done for him and Will. Again, using parts of her body that may or may not look "good" but Mrs. Holloway was a woman that portrayed herself with what she had in a good way.

My point is, maybe men should look more at what he really likes about a certain women and really think about it. Does it fit into his way of looking at love and at her and not merely for s*xual pleasure.? I see many men walking with women they are in love with that are obese and not too many years ago men wanted the "hot looking" woman. I know what these men see in their obese companions. Eyes and noses that made him think she was the right one.

Everyone has special features about them. And I think we men should look deeper into a woman for them.

All credit and thanks goes to Ray Bradbury for this inspiring description on women!!

Flashback to 1958!!

Since I've been experiencing the life of Riley I have been to the library alot to just 'net surf. I go to CS and then to FB then to my mail and just ride the 'net.

I have never been real close to my classmates from my graduation year in 1959. I've never gone to any reunion nor do I care to. I haven't even "friended" any of them just because. Basically I have saved that list and made it open to my kids and grandkids and people I now associate with.

Well, wouldn't you know it that some of the people from the 1958 class wanted to be friends. I accepted them simply because these people were pretty cool and I think about them from time to time.

Yabos! Then Kelly Noble, nee Betty Barnes, "friended" me and I thought, "Her"? Betty was one good looking babe. EVERYONE (the guys) thought she was "Miss Peach's & Cream". And me too!

We had lunch yesterday because she had moved to Riverside, CA years ago and now that I lived here, well, she just PM'd me on FB and we made a "date".

We dined and had a beer. I found out about her kids and she had seen mine on FB. We talked about old classmates and I told her I never really kept in touch with anyone. I didn't want to say the reason, which was, I was not popular. I was considered a goof ball. And Betty? She was very popular.

After talking and eating I walked her to her car and we hugged, but we made no plans for future visits. The years have changed and we don't really have anything in common anymore. And since she's married and I am waiting for my CS sweetie I didn't bring up the subject.

Years ago I would have jumped at the chance to be with her. Now, it was just nice knowing that she hadn't forgotten about me and wanted to be friends again.

Before I ride into the sunset I want to share this tale that I shared with her from many years ago. She, of course, had forgotten. I didn't because I was a twitterpated young man just looking for the chance to just talk to her.

It involved me sitting at a basketball game behind her. Being the chivalrous dude that I was I offered her some popcorn that I was eating. Unknown to me I had dropped the gum I was chewing into the bag. Yep, you guessed right, with the next handful she grabbed it and she bit into the gum. I was embarrassed. I was such a klutz!

It's a good thing passing years make for a funny ending and we just laughed and continued on other subjects.

Well, I must admit. Yes, she's an old woman now but she still looks so pretty. I was impressed

Machinist problem

So here is this little issue I am struggling with. Who knows, maybe someone here has the skills needed..

I have been trying to make some custom 6x32 tpi bolts for an old Belgian Bulldog revolver (about 1880ish). The original bolt bodies (frame mounted) are full of corrosion pits on the shaft and also someone without the right tools had managed to burr the screw heads at some point in the past.

The bolts are tiny and under magnification I suspect the threads were cut by hand. Just a tad under a #6 in size about 0.62 long. 3 of them. So I retapped the right side holes in the frame to #6x32. That was the easy part.

Only the bottom .197" has threads. Then the body has a smooth 1/8" shaft with a screw head size of 0.15".

I am using a steel 3/16" rod. I can usually get things down to about 0.155" before problems begin. When I use a steady rest (or a drill chuck in the tail stock) somewhere around .135" either the rod begins to bow or (worse) it just snaps in two. If I loosen the rest naturally the rod bends.

I know it can be done and hopefully without simply using just a file and sandpaper (which would probably take longer than I have years left).

I am using an HSS cutter which is giving a decent finish so I am confident I am okay there, but how to stabilize things so the rod doesn't snap or bow under cutter pressure remains the problem.

Yes, if I owned a monster press I could maybe swage it through a hole. But I don't have that.

I am of course also looking forward to the idea of putting threads on a part that tiny.

Open for solutions.., confused

So I gained weight

I work from home since Covid started, kitchen is just right beside my working space. I don't run out of snacks and drinks while I'm working.

I've been trying to lose some weight since the beginning of this year but during Ramadan month, I cooked a lot and plenty of food in every gatherings I went to.
currently weighs 127 lbs, I want to shed 15- 20lbs, I'm 5'2' and was 110lb before Covid. I want to go back to that.

I'm aiming to lose 5 lbs/week, might be too much but it's a challenge, I think I can do it.

notes.
5/4/22 18:28 = 127 lbs ( after BBQ party, 1.5 blueberry donuts and 1 cup of cappuccino)
