Gift giving this holiday season...

The top of my list is a granddaughter, 10 years old and more toys and gadgets than any child could need. Mentioning the perplexity of the situation to a lunch friend, some woman (in a group with others) who overheard me said "Get her a gift card. That solves all your problems"

I thought, it's a twist to someone (me) formally known as 'Uncle Cash'

My daughter suggests food and to get her a BurgerFi gift card.
I usually pass one of their restaurants on weekend travels and they have a bonus program for a limited time of a $5 kickback for every $25 in gift card purchases.

One less gift to think about.

How a bout obtaining a gift card from a shopping centre allowing your granddaughter to choose her own gift
Is that a single purchase that can be redeemed from several stores?
The mall in my area, sells gift certificates that can be used for all stores and most eateries in the mall.

My daughters loved to get them when they were young.
Time is running out. I'm leaning toward cash...
Okay, I showed up at a BurgerFi and found their gift card system had been down all week. While shopping yesterday, I found another BurgerFi restaurant and went for the purchase.
Small detail... the $5 kickback on gift certificate purchases doesn't start until next year.
Telling the cashier it's deceiving to announce a program where no one can see the fine print. It only got a blank stare. Obviously, it's something to mention to management... chances are they're already prepared to hear complaints.
I got the gift card at face value... no perks.
If she already has more than she needs, how about an Oxfam gift?

10 years old is a good age for appreciating a gift like this. It could have a massive impact on her life perspective.

I think I might do this next year for my grandchildren.
Uncle Cash sounds good. Just give her $30 and call it a victory for logic.
CC, the gift card for food was requested by her mom.
BurgerFi is an upscale burger joint where they (fake) brand the logo on the buns.
Hamburger, drink & fries runs more than $18 so she's got enough to treat 3 friends.
jac, charitable gift cards to save the world are a bit much for her focus right now. Perhaps when she's 14 or 15.
