Dreams, again!

I have tried to comment on every dream blog that I can because I find dreams so fascinating. I could never post all the crazy dreams that I have had because it would be impossible.

My most common dream happens to be a recurring dream where I am driving somewhere in fast moving traffic and all of a sudden I am going in reverse. I can see the people in the other cars speeding along with me but they don't seem to care that I am going in reverse.

So, I just happily cruise!

All of a sudden it changes and I am moving on a wooden sled with no wheels or engine but still cruising. OR I am riding a bike and it's going quite well until all of sudden I can't pump it anymore and I look at the tires and they're flat and the rims are bent!

When I wake up I just have to laugh because the dreams are so vivid but still silly foolish!!

Please feel free to tell me about your crazy dreams.

I was throwing sparks today...

One of the last things for me to do on my house renovation project is to remove some radio antennas and towers.

These things have been up for years and the couplers holding the sections of pipe have rusted to the pipe.

One of the guys I know wanted one. It's made from 3 lengths of 10 foot thick wall steel pipe. He had 2 weeks to respond and lost the opportunity today. This afternoon, we dragged lots of scrap metal in the front (for Tuesday's garbage pick up) and one of the salvage trucks that reclaim appliances came by at the right time. The driver was going through my trash. "We have more" and he agreed to stay and help while I got my industrial grinder and cut a line to weaken each of the couplings.

The two of us used the tree for leverage and we split each section where he then dragged each piece to the front and loaded it onto his truck.

I know it's toxic, but the fumes coming off the sparks has an awesome 'heavy metal' smell.

Time

To everything, there is a season and a time every purpose under the sun. A time to love, a time to hate. A time of war and a time of peace. Now, this is the time of war. War about yourself.

Skim Coat...

The house my parents bought had a roof leak where a room addition was connected to the main house. It was patched a few times over the years and by the time I inherited the place, a small section of plaster in the dining room broke through. I didn't have the money at the time to re-roof and patched it again a few times.

Eventually, the entire roof was replaced and has been holding up more than 16 years. I had the roofer reinforce the trusses from inside and that changed the weight load to the structure causing a stress crack in the ceiling that I lived with all these years.

I'm in renovation mode cleaning and painting and repaired the crack, but the area I fixed is visible to the existing work. The original stucco/plaster had a sandy texture and the patch is smooth. Having the experience of reworking a ceiling in 3 rooms of a condo (yeah, the one I bought last year) I decided to 'skim coat' the entire ceiling of the dining room to remove all the trowel marks of the original textured work.

Using slow setting drywall compound and an 8" drywall knife, I smoothed out the old repair and any irregular texture. Since it wasn't too bad to begin with, most of the coating I applied was as thin as 2mm. It troweled on pretty nice and was starting to dry by the time I packed up for the weekend.

The 4th is Thursday and I'm planning a 4 day weekend to get a few more things done.

For comparison, I troweled on 1-1/2 gallons yesterday and the condo renovation was 11 gallons total.

The pain is back!
When I got up this morning, my neck muscles were complaining... I needed aspirin for breakfast.

How I access spell checker

Sometimes people do not know how to use the spell checker so I thought that this might be helpful.

How I access spell check:

Place the cursor at the beginning of the word or words that you wish to check, click and hold the left mouse button, scroll over the words you wish to check, let go of the left button (it should highlight the word or words), place cursor in the highlight area, click the right mouse button, look down the drop down window until you see "check spelling".. click this. When there is a spelling error.. you will see a red squiggly line under the word or words. (If you cannot find the correct spelling type the word in your browser.. maybe you will be able to find it online).

Now if I could just remember to always use it mumbling

I refrain from explaining punctuation errors; the scammers lack of is beneficial to us.
