Bruce

I'm not quite sure what to write here, I guess I'm looking for some comfort.

My heart is breaking, I would do so much to hear his annoying noises again.

I was hysterical and still crying my heart out .

It's night time here, I haven't buried him yet but the house already feels empty and lonely.

I would miss his loud noises that wake me up everyday and his welcome when I come home from work at night.

I love you, Bruce . I will miss you so terribly.

Waiting

I've got approx an hour to wait and nothing to read. An hour is too short for some things and too long for others.

Ways of filling time?

(Other than blogging of course)(which can make the minutes pass even slower sometimes)

Swirley is gone...

One of the first things I wanted to replace in my condo remodeling project was an old toilet. I named it Swirley because it used 2-1/2 gallons per flush and took 2 minutes to fill up again. That really wasn't the worst part... The worst part was watching the water level rise to the rim of the bowl and start swirling it's contents (yes, poop) for 30 seconds before making it's way to Mar-a-Lago!

The missus didn't mind it probably because she came from a country where they poop over a hole in the floor. Another complaint I had was the low seat height. Think of Kiddie height for young children. So, it was agreed new toilet was in the budget.
I got a name and number of a plumber from the VP of the condo association and his guy wanted $250 and recommended I get a $250 toilet.

Not wanting to pay $500, I put the project down on my 'do list' until one day I had to stop at my place for lunch and a plumber was in the guest spot finishing a conversation before getting out of his truck. I asked if he had a set price to replace a toilet and he said "$135"
I said "Put me on your schedule for the middle of next week"
The night before I stopped at The Home Depot and picked up a name brand toilet for $190. Chair height and elongated no-slam seat. This is normal by today's standards.

On the appointment day, the plumber called to confirm and showed up on-time. He disconnected the old toilet and carried it out in parts for removal. I asked if there was a date of manufacture and he glanced down at the lid shouting back to me "1977"
Smiling to hear that... it was an antique and I was replacing the original toilet that came with the condo.

He worked fast and within 45 minutes the new toilet was installed and caulked to the floor. I paid him for his work and got a quote to do some other repairs after I replace some vanity cabinets.

Swirley is gone. I have a new fangled toilet that uses 1.28 GPF and fills quickly.
Just to be sure, I gave it a test run within minutes after installation and all went as planned!

Resident experts...

I have to remind myself that CS has a double handful of resident experts, versed on all subjects regardless of their careers and education. It doesn't matter whether they are retired shoe salesmen, goat herders, philanthropists, or computer gurus. They always have the reasons why something (usually political) doesn't work, but rarely, I mean rarely have the solution to the subject(s) they speak about.

A believer is a fool by default. They are the stunted growths per se...

They take their beliefs to be the truth without any basis or evidence.scold
Now what about the atheists. They again are foolish opposing the nonsense. They should rather ignore the buggers than to oppose them and thereby they are wasting their time and energy. That's the sheer wastage of the intellect. They are meant to do a better job

Fork it over, Fork it under...

I had an uncle who used his fork with the tines curved down. He was a fast eater and always seemed to take another bite of food before he was finished chewing the bite before it. The rest of my family held their forks with the tines curved up.

We grew up with Black & White TV and having seen many old movies, to me the only times I saw someone eating with the tines up was at home. My parents were friends with a Polish couple who owned a business in New Jersey and came to Florida during the winter. They also held their fork with the tines curved down.

Yesterday, I formulated this blog but ran out of time to do the research and post it. Again, pressed for time, I'll do a short version. My planned title was 'fork you' but 'fork it over' has some humor intended.

YouTube had dozens of videos about table manners and dining etiquette. The one I wanted to post ran on more than 10 minutes.

sleep So... I selected a shorter one for this blog.

All the videos I reviewed said there are two basic styles of holding your fork European and American. Americans are the only ones who hold their forks tines up. I thought the description of how you need a knife to push food onto your fork for the European style sounded less efficient.
Here's my analogy. Winter is coming. Next time you have to shovel snow, I want you to hold the shovel with the curved side down and think about dinner!

Blocking others here.....

As with banning, Nazi Krystalnacht Jewish bookburning, and many other cowardly fears of others' ideas and free expression of same, to what end?
Recently, another CS political blogger of my own ilk, said they complained about written abuse by another, and asked for my support. I said several things in my reply.
I wrote that I have never done these things, even though I have suffered vulgar abuse from a few here, even as to my physiognomy, writing, knowledge of foreign tongues, and much more. Perhaps someday I will draw the line at threats of physical violence, but have not yet done even reporting to CS of such. Usually, the latter display fear and powerlessness, rather than courage, especially given the anonymity, and great distances involved. One poster, misunderstanding my writing, threatened to tear off my limbs--he seems long gone. A female, also likely under the influences of some substance, and perhaps untreated serious illnesses, said she'd like to put a red hot poker up my glory hole, former station of delight, for criminally deranged homosexuals, in the church of my boyhood.
I did comment on how many of these folks display serious syndromic disturbance, as I've often said. Often couched in silly humour as to my Institutet, the finding and charge still stand. As evidenced by the endless strident America/Trump hating obsessions and compulsions, support for fascist one party States, failure to track in all but one rigid direction, and much more. Sure, all show weakness of character as well, likely low levels of information, and likely stem from many admitted, even virtue signaled, personal failures in life. Beyond pathetic, and perhaps without remedy, given the seriousness and longstanding nature of the challenges.
So I will let the banning stay with that hottie CS cyberscrutinizer. We all know, but only some admit, that banning is the height of anti democratic mindsets. Practiced routinely also in Communist, one party states, and often by selective "journalism", also by many media outlets.
But as always, we invite your free comments.

Creating a blog to calm the political storm...

It's been a week since the Moderator swept through and deleted a shitload bunch of political, virus, religious blogs in an attempt to steer blogs (and forums) back to their intended direction... dating.

I see a few disguised as something else have slipped through and that's to be expected. What I didn't expect was the original post by the Moderator having taken on a life of it's own with a high-level of bickering... it bears the very same tone of blogs that were deleted.

At some point I'd wager at least one of the following: The blog to be locked, some comments to be deleted, an additional revision or entry from the Moderator.

Years ago, Yahoo allowed for comments to their articles/stories and sometime last year, that was discontinued as opinions went beyond opinion with name calling and comment abuse taking the focus far away from what Yahoo intended.

I think this first round was a polite warning...
