The year of the Tiger...

This Tuesday, February 1st, 2022 marks the Chinese New Year.

Depending on who you ask, it has different pronunciations and interpretations.

"Happy Chinese New Year" in Mandarin is: xin nian (new year) kuai le (happy)
Pronounced shin nee-an kwai le.
The Cantonese version is sun nin fai lok- pronounced san knee fy lock.

Many people associate the Cantonese phrase Gong hei fat choy as happy new year, but it's actually a wish for prosperity to the person you say it to.
In Mandarin Chinese, it’s Gong xi fa cai (pronounced gong she fa tsai).

Either way, millions of Chinese will be up in the middle of the night cleaning house and preparing for a celebration and to some that lasts for a week!

There are 12 Chinese zodiac signs and the Tiger is known as the king of all beasts in China and the zodiac sign for Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness. Many Chinese kids will be wearing hats or shoes with a tiger image for good luck.
2022 is a year of the Water Tiger. It starts from February 1st, 2022, and ends on January 21st, 2023. A Water Tiger year occurs every 60 years.

So kung, mung, sung, young or however you say it... Happy Chinese New Year!

voiceless puppet masters

If......

If the voice of the handful of the few elites that have enjoyed spreading their narrative....their words....their ways....their messages.....to the masses of people through the media, through the newspapers, through books, through movies, through radio, through the news....ect., ect.....becomes no longer heard, then what happens?

It has been speculated that the "establishment" has been directing society....the masses...by controlling the messages we receive. Certain information reached us, certain information was withheld. Certain information was truthful, certain information misleading. It can be speculated that what we heard, seen, and thought could have been messages from these "puppet masters" to further the path in which they wanted society to take.

If....

If that is what has happened up to this point in time. At this point, I would encourage you to really think about how somebody's voice, thoughts, songs, message, information....gets published to the masses....gets shown to the masses....gets shared with the masses. In most cases, if not all, one would need to contact a powerful business entity to see about getting their work recognized and with a little luck that powerful entity would take action with it to get it out to the masses. Do they run the message as it was presented or do they tweak it to fit the overall agenda they need fulfilled. dunno I know in the music industry, artists a lot of times need to sing songs that are presented to them...not really the songs they wrote and want to sing. I can go on with examples similar to this. So....now I continue with the question I started with here. If that is what has happened up to this point (the "puppet masters" controlling the narrative to the masses), what do you think would or will happen when these elites feel their power over the narrative is slipping away?

Let me give you one example....Joe Rogan. Of course he is the biggest uncensored voice who relies on the internet to get his and his guests voice (narrative) out to the masses. But, there are many others...many others including potentially yourself. No longer is mainstream media the sole source of what reaches the masses.

Back to the question....what happens when the powerful has their power slipping away?

dunno

Know Thy Life

IT'S WRONG GIRLS WEARING HIJAB IN ANY SCHOOLS.

Why cant we respect her choice??

No, we should not respect her choice. Not in this case. Here's why?

Do you know why a school uniform is called uniform? Because it makes everyone uniform under one roof. It wipes out differences such as rich, poor, powerful, religion, region, caste, etc.

If some girls wear hijab it beats the main purpose of uniform.

When you go to school you need to accept school norms. In home it's our choice, not in school or college. And if an institution says not to wear hijab, it doesn't mean it is anti-muslim.

Yes, feminism is all about choice but it's not universal and doesn't apply everywhere.

You can't say I want to kill my self because it's my body my choice. A suicide attempt is a legal offence in many countries and can bring you jail term along with penalty.

I know religion is gaining more importance in our daily life. Here's a simple solution. If hijab is more important, join Madrasa. The problem is solved once for all.

If you like iPhone, you go for iphone. If you like Oppo, you go for Oppo. You can't buy iPhone and declare it racist for not having features of Oppo. VICE VERSA. That's not fair.

Best Regards

"Discover the bigger world of love with women who are so different and appreciative"

From an ad slogan I just read on here. What do you make of it?

I know what I get from it.

I get a message that women are not appreciative.

I mean, if they have to advertise that statement...they must feel the same way.

dunno

Actually, it kind of reminds me of some of my old blog topics and content. uh oh

'this the season to be jolly

Every year, as soon as Thanksgiving dinner leftovers are wrapped up, most people's attention immediately turns to the next major holiday on the calendar: Christmas. 'Tis the season, right? A marathon of eating, drinking, and socializing — what's not to like? If you need a little nudge to get into the holiday spirit.

Memory Loss...

It's a new year and I typically reflect on the past year as well as previous years.
My goal is not to repeat mistakes leading to failures. It's something on the lines of an Einstein quote about insanity of doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

I joined CS about 3-1/2 years ago and have seen some familiar faces and met many new faces. Usually, I hang in blog section daily and visit the forums a few times a week.
When I surf CS on my cellphone is get lots of popup ads and though I've installed a few browser ad blockers they don't do much as It's like land mines and I back arrow to maneuver around them.

In life, I'm expected to remember many things... passwords used to be simple but now I've got about 20 of them and to my surprise need a 'cheat sheet' to get them right. Birthdays and anniversaries aren't much of a priority, they often get missed. My ex-wife has been help on reminders. Dentist and doctor appointments were easy but since COVID, they are booked weeks in advance and often get rescheduled. I rarely miss an appointment... any appointment.

What works for me is a simple calendar on a sheet of paper. I print a weeks schedule and it doesn't fail me. It's easy to flip back a few weeks to review things. Previously, I had a calendar on my phone that wasn't reliable. In business, I'm using Google as my office monitors and can book appointments on my behalf. I check that calendar often.

I knew a guy (on another site) who had a fear of losing his memory. Beyond forgetfulness, he was afraid of dementia or Alzheimer's. I worked with an interior designer who's husband was in an advanced stage of Alzheimer's and became abusive If he didn't recognize someone. He was too dangerous to be in the house and she was trying to get him into a facility who could handle him when he was enraged. She was bruised from one of those episodes. I never saw her again and wondered what the outcome was.

Checking memory, I recall a few of my blogs disappearing. How many and which ones I'm not sure of, with an exception of 2 that were predictions. One was about global warming and the rise in the oceans. Living in Florida, it's a concern as 5 feet above what we have now will put most of the coastline under water. NASA on Cape Canaveral will be forced to move or else they will be forced to shoot rockets from a barge. The other prediction was about an attempt to block the presidential election process.

My memory hasn't forgotten the blog from a CS moderator stating their position on political and virus blogs. A few weeks ago they made a sweep by knocking off a few members and pulling a few blogs.

Some members here have a memory loss about the wishes of CS administration... or maybe it's a case of 'I'll do what I want' where I equate that to urinating in the public pool and ignoring the signs.

I also hand write my 'do list' if not noted on my written calendar. it's quick and easy to scratch in little notes than trying with an online, digital version. Maybe this year I'll try to go digital again... that is if I can remember!

Making New Years resolutions

Many people try to avoid making New Years resolutions for whatever their reason may be. However, I for one actually enjoys making at least one to start the new year off. Sadly, many of the ones I have made over the years had failed to stick. rolling on the floor laughing

That's not going to stop me again this year. Have always thought making resolutions were fun, and trying to improve oneself. That's how I look at it.

Have you made any resolutions over the years, and was it a success, or bust?

Plan on making one for the upcoming year, and if so, care to share?

You can't wait... can you!

2021 was a terrible year for many. While I pretended to be semi-retired making less money than previous years, I didn't 'fall into a hole' financially. With a dental issue that popped up and is being resolved, my overall health has been okay.
I skirted COVID at least 6 times as people around me (coworkers and friends) were directly affected.

So what's to complain about?
Nothing really.

Retailers are still pushing with extended black Friday sales and sale-a-thons up the ying-yang.
(that's the first time I used ying-yang in a blog)
laugh
Anyway, 2 days after Christmas, I was in Walmart and the normal New Years party items are in the front of the store. To my surprise, they had Valentines displays out too!

Ya can't wait... can ya!
