Quote of the Night - Chris Cristie

I played softball tonight and am now chillin', watching Colbert.

Former NJ governor, republican Chris Christie was his guest.
The last line of the interview was first Colbert saying "we have to go now,
but Trump's former campaign manager, Steve Bannon is in jail.
Are you going to visit him ?"

Christie's reply; "I wouldn't visit him if he lived next door. He's a bum !"

1964 was a good year for Margaret Nolan...

British actress Margaret Nolan was the gold painted woman in the 1964 James Bond movie Goldfinger. She also appeared in the 1964 Beatles film “A Hard Day’s Night.”

Along the way, her career landed many other movie parts.

Unfortunately, 2020 wasn't a good year for Margaret.
She died on Sunday at the age of 76.
The cause of death has not been revealed.

Top Gear Danmark - a review!

Today, the BBC show Top Gear premiered their very first Danish episode. The format is the same as the British one: Three guys, cool cars, The Stig, challenges, a Star in a Small car and a test track! It's a formula that works, so why change it?

The first episode saw the three hosts, TV presenter Felix Schmidt, actor Dar Salim and ex pro racecar driver Jesper Carlsen, go to the top of Denmark, to test three SUVs: A Mercedes-Benz G Wagon, a Lamborghini Urus and a Bentley Bentayga.

The tests and challenges were classic Top Gear: Banter between the hosts, trash-talking between the hosts and just good old fashioned fun, in three big cars.

The Star in a Small car was the ex boxer Mikkel Kessler. He set a time on a race track, just like in the original show.

Overall, the first episode was great. There are some kinks, but it's the first episode. It takes time to smooth it out, and to really settle into the role as Top Gear hosts. Episode two premiers in a week from now, and I will definitely watch it!

For this very first episode, I will absolutely give it a score of 7 out of 10. The later episodes will probably be rated higher, but we'll have to see how it goes. For now, it's a VERY promising start.

Next review will be of a film I bought today, starring Steven Seagal.

Oh boy.. uncertain

Yesterday was fun!

I had a very good day yesterday. For the first time in about three months, I was happy. Smiling from ear to ear, laughing and generally feeling good about myself - and, of course, I saw the new Star Wars, with K.

She decided the time we were supposed to meet, and then we both had a fantastic time during the movie. I loved it, but some of the things in the movie, was a bit.. Rushed, I felt. K felt the same, but all in all, it was a success. There is this new character in the movie called Babu Frik, and he is possibly the cutest thing ever! During the previews, we were treated to a 6 minute sneak-peek to the new movie Tenet. It looks fantastic! K and I both agreed, that we were going to have to watch that. Of all the previews we saw, three stood out: The new Bond film, the new Top Gun and Tenet. All three in IMAX. It's gonna be expensive, but worth it.

Now, this wouldn't be a successful trip to the cinema, without me buying too much. I decided to get some pick-n-mix, because surely that would be eaten during the movie.

It didn't. Did it get eaten before the movie? No. Did I even eat most of it? No. I barely touched it. This is what happens when we go and see exciting movies! We are too busy watching the screen, to be eating popcorn, candy or other things. But - at least I have some for tomorrow or tonight.

What rating would I give Star Wars? A solid 8.

Another Calvary on the horizon...

Taxpayer confiscatory funding of ueber alt left biased "public" broadcast media. NPR (National Proletarian Broadcasting), PBS, the Beeb, Deutsche Welle, Radio Oz, others. Certainly here, the initial thought was to provide balance to commercial on- air outlets. Bilateral political support for the idea, half a century ago.. But liberal morphing of the academy, with grads filling staff positions, well, oh my astute fellow bozos on the bus, just look at it now. Any fair minded person with eyes and ears will notice by just watching a bit. So, just take in the hate speech toward ANYTHING said/done by our Brilliant Dazzling President Trump. Or right wing pols. Never a hardball Q. ever tossed at our last affirmative action, never held a non government job, POTUS. But don't merely believe what you hear and see. Check out the lockstep rabid Dem party line support for these sources of leftie propaganda. Same with RFE and VOA. And, as with juniorversity faculty, and print MS media, almost 90% of staffers, editors, vote Democrat. Sure, the right has it's outlets, but all are commercial, supported by adverts. Which, just BTW, weren't supposed to be funders of these ether based media---again, just have a look see and hear at the ubiquitous support by the BIG EVIL corporations. Was a time, when this funding was restricted to a few second mention of of the name of a CORPORATE, very corporate, payer. But just watch the obscene advers these days, even in the face of the routinne on-air commercially oriented BEGATHONS. "all three CD's of the BG's for a "contribution" of $200. Call now, volunteers are standing by." Pathetic, hypocritical, but oh, so very Alinsky. But take heart, loves of unbiased pubic broadcasting. There's a dust storm of horse cavalry over the next (2020) hill. As if he hasn't accomplished enough already, as campaign promissed, there are rumblings of a fix to these air-wave travesties. Already, with Republican and taxpayer group efforts, the taxpayer funding has successfully been cut back by some 60+%. Lots of plans in the Trump hopper. Cutting back ALL such dollars. And a start up of fully taxpayer funded MORE BALANCED Radio/TV ALTERNATIVES, at least for the few decades the leftie propagandists got away with it, and much more. To paraphrase the I Ching---in T'ai, we see the little gone, and the great come. Great indeed, are the things in T'ai. (Hexagram for the first month.)

About last night - the return of...

Last night Colbert returned from a hiatus with some revealing insights into how Trump was faced with the decision to kill the Iranian general.
Colbert suggests that our US generals gave Trump a menu of choices in which killing the Iranian general was the worst choice.
The generals never thought he would make that choice. They don't know Trump very well, do they.

Here's his monologue from last night, including mentions of the Golden Globe awards featuring
a view of Salma Hayek's award winning globes. wow laugh

Medical conditions....And Public Broadcasting...

Only those who are vision or hearing impaired, or suffering from near terminal TD-HD Syndromes will not not know. But the severe biases of the fake media outlets, VERY fake, have been with us now for several decades. Recall when during the war in the Malvinas, the BBC's reporting was so unbiased, that some members of Parliarment complained. At least, as predicted, until Maggy and the Brits totally kicked arse down there with the girly, sissy Generals full of chest medals Argentinians. And here in the USA, the three networks, and public broadcasting, the latter most notable for NPR (National Proletarian Radio), are hardly even handed in reportage. Certainly grossly biased against right wing almost anything, but even in their coverage of science, economics, etc. Only former short wave radio Moscow, Havana or Tirana, in their own propagandist ways, were worse. It wasn't always this way, as with the now terminally PC BBC. Public broadcasting was actually started, with a majority of taxpayers' dollars, half a century ago, to counter the commercial outlets. And for a short while, it did the job. Over time, with more staffing by graduates of Schools of Journalism, the left biases began to creep in, to a point where we now virtually have enemies of the people for news pundits. But don't take my word for it. Step onto almost any campus, and visit a few lectures. Then catch a few broadcasts. Sure, there's right wing info on some outlets. BUT IT'S NOT TAXPAYER FUNDED, oh my astute CS lemmings. The taxpayer funding confiscatory huge teats for these incredibly biased services continues, albeit, with protests from taxpayers, at lower rates. Now the funding comes from frequent "beg-a-thons", for listener support. And originally, public broadcasting was intended to avoid all the crass adverts on commercial outlets, by using taxpayers dollars instead. Fat chance, but again, don't take my word for it. Just tune in to see how really similar the many adverts on the fake news PUBIC networks, VERY fake, really are. Our Brilliant President Trump as with his many other long overdue/fulfilled promisses policies, is hip. VERY hip. But strategically keeping a low profile on this, until he's in for a second term. I won't detail the various plans for change here, but as they say on the air waves, stay tuned. And just BTW, my British friends, if you don't happen to be rabidly left wing yourselves, just how fairly do you feel your TV/Radio confiscatory taxes are being spent. We can all hang our heads, and pray. Hope we don't get fooled again. Same old bosses, same old....

Stranger Things: Season 1 - a review!

I never really got the hype about Stranger Things, so I decided not to take part in viewing the show.

Now, however, I have decided to give it a chance, to see what everyone is raving on about. So, was it worth it?

The first season is about a young boy, who disappears. It's then up to his mother, a police chief, and his friends to confront terrifying forces in order to get him back.

Season 1 has a number of different subplots, that all merge at the end, and it's a pretty well-crafted series. It's VERY slow, but the first season is all about character building. The season has it all: Horror, suspense, action, humor and emotion. It's an extremely impressive first season, so I will definitely begin season 2 right away.

Let's hope this is more fast-paced, because if I have to see ONE more interrogation, so help me... That is the only reason why this first season gets an 8/10. Not bad but not perfect!
