Does It Really Happen In Threes?

This morning I woke up to a cat pawing my face. Knowing that I don’t have a cat anymore, I realized that I was dreaming, I shoved him off the bed and went back sleeping.yawn

When I was pawed in the face a second time, I woke up properly… and there was my lost cat. Incessantly moaning, jumping off the bed, walking to the door, and coming back to lament some more. And I realized that he wants his food.burger

Grumpily I got up, dressed, gave him some of his favorite dry cat food, and tried to make a cup of coffee. He sat their next to his bowl with an attitude of who’s going to eat this shit? Only then, I noticed how skinny he is. And his left ear is broken and torn. Grudgingly, I cut off a piece of steak from the meat I defrosted for the barbecue today. He devoured it in no time and I had to give him another piece.wow

But that cat is not the only thing that came back. Last night in the bath, I discovered that the wart I had removed about six weeks ago also appears to be coming back. It is still a bit small to be sure, but it seems that way.frustrated

If things really happen in threes, I’m in trouble. I have lost nothing else. All that can still come back to me is one of my ex wives.hole

Heavens behold! I’ll sue my lawyer for malpractice if it happens.laugh

My cats and I

(by request)

Here the senior cat wishes me to know the kitchen food bowl has strangely gone empty. The junior cat was going to tell me too, but the older one beat him too it.

Ever since I got out of the hospital this has been his behavior every night when I go to sleep. He never used to sleep in that spot. I think he is checking to see if I am hypoglycemic by sniffing for the acetone that would come out of my skin pores if I was. There is a group that trains 'sensor dogs' to bark incessantly if their owner has a low blood sugar level while sleeping. Hopefully the owner wakes up, or someone comes. My assigned visiting Nurse says I seem to have a 'sensor cat' who cares. Twice now he has awakened me in the middle of the night by slapping my face or gently biting my nose when my blood sugar dropped (well) below 40.

This is a re-enactment of course because normally the lights are off and I don't normally wear pajamas. :)

If I was a cat (ok, a spoiled pampered one)

cats meow I could jump five times my own height from a sitting position.

cats meow I could groom myself whenever I didn't want to talk to somebody, and no-one would be offended.

cats meow I could take off for several days at a time, and be greeted lovingly on my return, no explanation required.

cats meow I could sleep as much as I wanted, and complain when anyone tried to wake me up, without being resented.

cats meow I could close in for a hug whenever I liked, but could also pull away from a hug when I wasn't in the mood, and both reactions would be accepted without question.

cats meow I could turn my nose up at the meal that had been prepared for me, and if I was spoiled enough, another option would instantly be offered.

cats meow I could share myself out between several owners*, taking my time to decide which offered the best options. (*Cats don't have owners, they have staff.)

cats meow I could demand attention, and get it, whenever I wanted.

Nobody would expect me to do a thing around the house, or even be good-natured. They would still love me, feed me and look after me.

I was born into the wrong species. Does anyone know where I can put in for a transfer?

The Missing Person’s Department.

My cat is missing since yesterday. He went out in the late afternoon just before the rain started. It rained uninterruptedly for eight or nine hours and by the time I went to bed, he was not home yet. This morning when I woke up, he was still amiss.sigh

This is completely out of character for him. Since I had him ‘fixed’, he has not slept out once. Before that, he was a bit of a stroller. He is notorious for stowing away in cars, and it is not inconceivable that he caught a plane. It is perfectly possible that he could find himself in the USA, Scotland or even somewhere in the East this morning. If you happen to see him, please tell him to come home. I’m sorry that I gave his food to the dog.sad flower

To assist you, I’m placing one of his baby snaps (they always get more sympathy), but bear in mind that he is about two years old now. He reacts to the name Monsieur which gives him a rudimentary knowledge of French, so he may even be in Paris.help

He was last seen wearing a brown corduroy pants and a tweed jacket. He does hide behind sunglasses sometimes.cool

And while we’re on the topic, what happened to Virgo? Next month it will be a full year since I last saw him and he used to be a very regular blogger. Can anybody cast some light there?dunno

Moved in with the neighbor

I took you in when you were starving, gave you a home and put food on the table. When you were sick and injured I comforted you and paid your medical bills, I even got you a passport.

We had some good years together with lots of caresses and cuddles and even though at times you took up most of the room on the bed I didnt mind.

When you started spending the odd night away, I understood, when you disappeared for days at a time I was never concerned until the day about a year ago when you didnt return home, I was fraught with worry.

Then last night when I saw you on the corner of the street, I stopped the car and called your name, but you walked away from me. As you stood before the door waiting to be let in we chatted and I caressed you. I was pleased to see you looked healthy and well fed. Drop by the house sometime I said, we all miss you my dear cat Paco.

It truly saddens me.

I know its always been around and probably will be, but is it jus me or hss cruelty to poor innocent animals increased. I have seen numerous examples of this on YouTube and in de media and it truly saddens me...I just CANNOT understand it and those who do it....I have no words for.

Two thirds for the birds

Or one third? Well, a lot anyway. This year so many starlings are around at this time of the year and the early cherries are ripe. There is a massacre. Red sugar sweet juice dripping down on leaves and ground. Hands get sticky.
But I remember once the starlings massacred a calamity of caterpillars, Erannis defoliaria, in a cherry tree, too. So there is good and bad close together, as always.
And they do not care about waiting time. This year I sprayed the cherry trees for the first time since a long, long time. Last year the "worms" of fruit flies appeared in such numbers, that there was a total loss. And the years before the cherries were infested, too. So ecology yes, but always pay the price.....
