A follow-up of my kitten blog

Once I posted a picture blog about cute unknown kitten who lived under our building, Somebody recently saw it and then judged me as a heartless person as I didn't give him a 'shelter' moping

But do you think as a cat who was born in nature and healthy, do need to be rescued? He never worried about his foods, as loving people offered it to him each day. he never worried about no ground to play. Cos around his nature 'shelter' there are many trees and lands for him to play. Even he could easily to play with our human as well. I meant making friends with us.laugh

As we all know cats are freedom loving creatures. In this case, why I must limited his freely personality in my small room ? He followed me upstairs just for his delicious kitten food I special bought for him but not his shelter, there are so many stray cats live in our community, rarely like this kitten so good at interaction with people and not afraid of us, as a wild cat, it's amazing for me. grin

And he was a naughty cat also, sometimes he liked to make a trick which made me laughing from heart. When I back if I saw him ,I opened the gate and invited him to come with me, he ignored me looked like a deaf, but when I walked half upstairs up, he suddenly appeared beside me.It's he slipped into the auto-gate just at the last second before the gate closed. He was always win.yay

So I let him came and went as he wish. He belonged outside. That's the best way for his life. He needed time to learn how to survive in nature. Now he was gone in silent,no one knew where he been, but we still talked about him sometimes, hope he'v found his new home. cos I knew many people liked him... He is still a special one in my eyes. cats meow bouquet

Now the heartless wants to sleep, yawn Good night! sleep

Animals' Souls

There appears to be some sort of life force or psychic energy in every living entity.
When that entity dies, what happens to that force or energy?
Some argue that that energy is annihilated into nothingness or destroyed.

The Law of Conservation of Energy, however, states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed; therefore that energy will continue to exist even after the death of the living entity. It may exist in a different form or even in a different dimension but it will not vanish into nothingness. From a human perspective, this energy is normally referred to as “soul” or “spirit”.

But what about non-human living entities like animals, for example, dogs and cats. By a similar argument, they also possess some life force or energy when they are alive, and by extension, that energy will continue to exist after they die. The term “soul” or “spirit” is usually reserved for human beings. Can we also use it for animals and speak of a dog's or cat's “soul”, especially in regard to our pets? After all, some of our pet dogs and cats can be quite human-like in their behaviour, providing comfort, caring and faithfulness to us, maybe even more so than some of our human family and friends.

What happens to these animals' “souls” after death? I have a poet friend on CS Poetry Corner who is a genuine cat lover. In some of his poems, he has written of “Kitty Heaven” where he expects to be re-united with his deceased feline friends in the future.

I am aware of the teachings of some religions, with regard to human beings, of a permanent residence for the soul in either heaven or hell after death. Others speak of the soul being reborn or recycled in another life. If you are a person who accepts the teachings of such religions, then that is fine. I am not attacking anyone's religion.

However, the life force or “soul” energy that enables a human being or an animal is basically some form of energy that continues to exist after the human being or animal dies. By extension, this should also apply to “all living entities”, including other animals, fish, birds, insects, etc..
In my opinion, to restrict the idea of “soul” or “spirit” to human beings only, is a very anthropocentric perspective, for which, to me, there is absolutely no justification.

Perhaps there exists a huge “life energy pool” from which life energy is drawn to enable new living entities. When these living entities die, their life energy is returned to that “life energy pool” which, in turn, continues to enable other “new living entities”.

Do animals have souls? What do you think?

Folklore: BLACK CATS ARE BAD LUCK

Today I found out the origin of superstitions surrounding black cats including why a black cat crossing your path is considered bad luck.

**************************************************************************

Black Cats weren’t always the butt of superstitions, feared, or even considered bad luck. In fact, in early Egyptian times, dating back as far as 3000 BC, cats (including black ones) were the rock stars of the animal world, held in high esteem; to kill one was considered a capital crime. It wasn’t until the middle-ages in Europe that the black cat’s rock star status started to go downhill as they began to be associated with so-called witches. The hysteria of witches practicing black magic had just hit Europe and alley cats were often cared for and fed by the poor lonely old ladies (funny how some things never change) later accused of witchery.

Their cat companions, some of which were black ones, were deemed guilty of witchery by association. This belief was taken up a notch when a folklore involving a father and son in Lincolnshire in the 1560’s started making the rounds. The pair were said to have been traveling one moonless night when a black cat crossed their path and dove into a crawl space. Naturally, they did what any guys would do, they threw rocks at the furry feline until the helpless injured creature scurried out into a woman’s house, who at the time was suspected of being a witch. The next day, the father and son came across the same woman and noticed she was limping and bruised and believed that to be more than just a coincidence. From that day on in Lincolnshire, it was thought that witches could turn into black cats at night.

The belief of witches transforming themselves into black cats in order to prowl streets unobserved became a central belief in America during the Salem witch hunts. Even today the association of black cats and witches holds strong during Halloween celebrations, despite the holiday’s religious beginnings. Thus, an animal once looked on with approbation became a symbol of evil omens in some parts of the World.

However, in some cultures, the black cat is still revered and a symbol of good luck even today. The Scottish believe that a strange black cat’s arrival to the home signifies prosperity, while Pirates of the 19th century believed if a black cat walks towards you, it’s a sign of bad luck, but it’s good luck if it walks away from you. In the English Midlands, a black cat as a wedding present is thought to bring good luck to the bride.

Police say dogs seeking cupcakes caused small stove fire

ALTOONA, Pa. (AP) — Police say dogs trying to get at a box of cupcakes left on top of a stove apparently started a small fire in a central Pennsylvania home.

The landlord tells police in Logan Township that he stopped by his tenants' home to let out the dogs about 8 p.m. Sunday.
That's when the landlord saw a small stove top fire and called firefighters.

Police say it appears the dogs were trying to get into the cupcakes and not only knocked off the stove's control knobs, they also turned on the stove, causing the fire.
The fire has been ruled accidental. Nobody was hurt.
Logan Township is near Altoona, about 85 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Drama around Cecil the Lion!

Ever since the news broke on the demise of Cecil the Lion, I am trying my best to get engulfed deep in emotions and trying to get sad, however I don't feel a tinge of any major and life changing sadnessrolling on the floor laughing I am just being honest. However, what actually makes me sad is the realization that how misdirected people's emotions are. Almost a billion people everyday go hungry in one way or the other, seldom I would see a late night comedy host, Jimmy Kimmel in this Cecil case, shedding tears or getting choked up on the human misery of present.

Ok, I can acknowledge that Ceil had a celebrity status and he was a lion, but when I saw him play around his cubs, his interactions around his pride in general, his aimless wandering....all of it simply made me realize I am watching just another animal, and nothing special!doh Goats, cows, pigs, all pretty much do the same stuff, and, yes, they are not as good looking as Cecil, but nonetheless they all are animals. I see no distinction between a special breed of animal and not so special. We consume tons of animals everyday, cook them in spices and soups and whatnot, and then we have these powerful emotions to make this Cecil issue not only a national but a global one.

I wish only if all these protestors, big celebrities, leaders of different nations could invest half of as much interest as they expressed in Cecil in making the conditions of the poor better over lamenting the loss of an animal of "Iconic" status...what a load of lion's crap!grin

People love drama, protests, hanging out on the streets under the pretext of raising their voice against the so called injustice, but the same people can leave a hungry man go hungry and walk him by, sometimes insulting or dispensing a prudent advice for him to go and work but don't spare a dime. But OMG, if some good looking and famous lion has been killed, OMG, this event has turned their lives upside down. And instead of demanding the head of the so called Dentist hunter, demand your governments to go full throttle and use the military might to wipe out the real hunters of humanity like ISIS and to direct more food aid to the millions of people around the globe. Lions, elephants, pandas, goats, cows, chickens....just let them be where they are and how they are, dead or alive!sad flower
