Create a VIRUS to scare people. Place them in quarantine. Count the number of dead every second of every day in every news headline. Close all businesses. 40,000,000 out of jobs. Peak unemployment. Remove entertainment: parks, gyms, bars, restaurants, sports. No dating. No touching. Mask people. Dehumanize them. Close temples and churches. Create a vacuum. Let depression and anxiety and desperation set in.

THEN... ignite hatred and civil war. Civil unrest. Empty the prisons because of the virus and fill the streets with criminals. Send in Antifa to vandalize property as if they are freedom fighters. Undermine the law. Loot. Attack law enforcement, but tell government to order a stand-down. We are all being baited by adversarial governments who want to destroy America - China, Iran, Russia. And, in an election year, have Democrats blame all of it on the President.

Can’t take America in a war, destroy it from within.

Of course, the great selling point was sex. One ad said the waterbed is very good for two things; one of them is sleeping. Another ad claimed that she’ll admire you for your car, respect you for your position, and love you for your waterbed.

But then waterbeds were nothing new. The Persians had them in 3600 BC when they filled goatskin bags with water. During the 1800s medical doctors used something similar for patients with bedsores and/or TB. They were reinvented during the late 60s and became popular during the 70s. During the late 80s, nearly one in four mattresses sold were water bed mattresses, and in the 90s they quietly went out of fashion leaving thousands of water mattresses in warehouses. Most dealers will tell you that it is years since they last sold one.

By the 80s, at the height of its popularity, waterbeds were available in a variety of styles, from four-post Colonials to Victorian beds with carved headboards to simple, sturdy box frames. Allergy sufferers liked having a dust-free mattress, while back pain sufferers were drawn to the beds’ free-floating quality.


So what happened? How did our enthusiasm for sleeping on liters of pure H2O go down the drain so quickly?

These beds were probably just too cumbersome. Apart from the constant possibility of a flooded bedroom, they were prohibitively heavy; not just the mattress but also the supporting framework. It was a problem filling or draining the mattress.

During the early 90s when I decided to buy a new bed, a salesman tried very hard to sell a waterbed to me but he had to settle for the sale of a normal bed. I was not going to risk a woman getting seasick on my bed.

Not everyone in the entertainment field is a liberal.

The reason I post my opinions on this forum and open myself up to attack and ridicule is for you , the silent ones who think they are alone in a world where their thoughts are alien or wrong. You’re not alone , millions are with you. For those of you who think you are coming from a morally superior position therefore any differing opinion or viewpoint is invalid think again. It’s the easy path to think like you , it’s in their best self interests for celebrities and politicians to support you but you will lose in the end because you are the very thing you pretend to fight against. The true fascist, the true bigots hidden in plain sight from the same party who fought to maintain slavery , Jim Crow , non voting rights for women , and who are directly responsible for 70 plus million abortions ,a large majority of whom were black. You don’t want free speech , you can’t handle free speech because you are cowards and need to be herded along with the rest of the sheep. I’m lucky , I’m in an industry where you CAN be honest about your views wherever they fall with little to no repercussions. I don’t rely on a movie studio , label , media or anyone else who will bow down to pandering political correctness and am in no danger whatsoever of “ losing my job” because you don’t like what I have to say . This is a dangerous time where free thought and speech is under attack but it will pass , the next generation is watching as they always do and they will overcome your insanity. In hindsight, it's easy to understand the situation we’re in. We’ve been ordered to close down businesses and stay indoors for months. Going to church, school, restaurants, clubs, bars, sporting or music events and in-person, social interactions have been prohibited. What started as a health crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic has turned into an economic crisis, then leading to a job-loss catastrophe, as over 40 million Americans have lost their jobs since the start of the outbreak. Millions of unemployed people are worrying about whether or not they’ll have a job to go back to when things reopen.

The pressure, stress and strain has been simmering. The killing of George Floyd released our collective anger and frustration, not only with police brutality and systemic racism, but with society as a whole—including our inept political leaders. It's not surprising that we had a powder keg ready to blow.

Seattle, like many cities across the nation, experienced peaceful protests that have been co-opted by people with bad intentions. This has led to violence, destruction of property, looting and heavy-handed police reactions.

Protesters took over a part of the city, calling it the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). It was created to serve as a community, commune, self-sustaining, police-free zone. The protesters demanded that the police be abolished and the mayor fired. The governor of Washington state, Jay Inslee, said in a press conference that he’s unaware of what's happening.

Assistant Police Chief of the Criminal Investigations Bureau Deanna Nollette said, “We have heard anecdotally reports of citizens and businesses being asked to pay a fee to operate within this area.” Nolette added, “There is no legal right for those arms to be used to intimidate community members. This is the crime of extortion."

The New York Times had a differing perspective reporting, “What has emerged is an experiment in life without the police—part street festival, part commune. Hundreds have gathered to hear speeches, poetry and music. On Tuesday night, dozens of people sat in the middle of an intersection to watch 13th, the Ava DuVernay film about the criminal justice system’s impact on African-Americans. On Wednesday, children made chalk drawings in the middle of the street.”

In front of a deserted police station, a banner was hung that read, “This space is now property of the Seattle people.” The CHAZ has turned it into a “no-go” zone. The group has its own people patrolling the area. “Warlord” Raz Simone chased out reporters and allegedly assaulted citizen journalists. He also produced a new rap video describing his mission.

President Donald Trump raged against this action and tweeted, “Domestic Terrorists have taken over Seattle, run by Radical Left Democrats, of course. LAW & ORDER!” He also tweeted, “Radical Left Governor @JayInslee and the Mayor of Seattle are being taunted and played at a level that our great Country has never seen before. Take back your city NOW. If you don’t do it, I will. This is not a game. These ugly Anarchists must be stopped IMMEDIATELY. MOVE FAST!”
