Democrats Reclaim Their Time During Barr Hearing

In Soviet style questioning, House Democrats repeatedly interrupted Attorney General William Barr at Tuesday's contentious Judiciary Committee hearing with the phrase, "reclaiming my time."

At one point, Barr noted that the point of his testimony was so he could be heard.

Seattle Police: Residents Are On Their Own Against Rioters

This is why the Second Amendment is so important. People need to have the right to keep and bear arms.

Carmen Best, the Seattle police chief, sent a letter to city residents and businesses that essentially told them that when it comes to social unrest, they are on their own.

Best, who has reportedly maintained a strained relationship with the city’s mayor, Jenny Durkan, sent the letter in response to the city council’s new ordinance that went into effect last weekend that bans city police from even using “less lethal tools” when dealing with protesters.

“Simply put, the legislation gives officers NO ability to safely intercede to preserve property in the midst of a large, violent crowd,” Best wrote. “For these reasons, Seattle Police will have an adjusted deployment in response to any demonstrations this weekend—as I will never ask our officers to risk their personal safety to protect property without the tools to do so in a safe way.”

Although the city was able to take down the CHOP protest site after deadly shootings, the city is still in the grips of violent protests. On Saturday, the city police department reported that 59 cops were wounded during a riot that included explosives, bottles and rocks, according to the Washington Times. The report said that 47 people were arrested.

“Throughout the day officers were moving protesters away from the East Precinct after they threw an explosive at the building causing structural damage,” police said.

Letting off steam and poking at the media

Porky pies – Cockney slang for lies. Everyone tells porkies. I don’t know how many honest profiles there are on CS but I know mine says ‘a few extra pounds’. I should change that but I can’t be arsed, I’m sure I’ll lose that Covid stone any time now. In the meantime I look, so I was told by an acquaintance on Sunday, very healthy. uh oh when an English person says you look very healthy you know you look like a tethered weather balloon. Meh. The “very healthy” option isn’t on the CS dropdown list.

Since CS is now dedicated to the activities of the American president, I shall get in my token political comment quickly so that this blog qualifies. All politicians lie. Some call it political necessity. Some apologise. Some pretend they never told the lie in the first place. Meh. The media dedicate a LOT of time to counting the lies told by Ramapoes who runs the country where I once lived, by Boris and indeed Wee Cranky who run the country where I formally lived, by Sánchez in the country where I now live. Wherever you live, I’m sure you have media tracking the honesty of your leaders. Some of you have entire singles websites dedicated to it. roll eyes

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Who counts the lies of those who count the lies?

This quote from realclearpolitics.com – the media distorts and misleads, takes statements out of context, treats assumptions as facts and in general seems to want to sow as much rancor and fear as possible.

Yup.

The Harvard Business Review comments that media and government are entwined in a vicious circle of mutual manipulation, mythmaking, and self-interest. The media fails to do what it claims to do, what it should do, and what society expects it to do.

Yup.

Columbia Journalism Review has an article titled the fall, rise, and fall of media trust. They point out that as far back as Washington newspapers were full of lies.

Yup

Etc etc etc

You probably agree, at least about media supporting views other than your own. And yet – we all read this crap. We all argue about this crap as though it was worth argument. We let ourselves be panicked by this crap. Social media, some would argue, is the last uncontaminated source. roll eyes rolling on the floor laughing

I’d love to see 48 hours, just 48 hours, lie-free, across the world, across all forms of media. Nothing but facts, or rumours clearly highlighted as rumours. No whipped up dramas. No inflated twisted biased items. Just facts. Wondered if anyone who has read this far would agree, or if the media are right and most of us WANT the soap opera.

Meanwhile – breaking news – peaceful talks in Southern Spain break down after a visiting English delegate referred to a local Spanish delegate as now looking like a tethered weather balloon wow

Goya boycott backfires bigly as Trump supporters buy up Goya products like it’s Christmas

The Left’s lame “Boycott Goya” campaign to bully and silence Goya Food CEO Robert Unanue for praising President Trump has backfired in epic fashion after scores of Trump supporters launched their own counter-boycott called “Goya Buy-cott.”

The “Buy-cott” campaign inspired countless Trump supporters to go to their local stores and buy up Goya olives, seasonings, and canned beans like it’s like Christmas.

In fact, Goya couldn’t have asked for better marketing if it had paid millions of dollars in prime-time TV and newspaper ads.

President Trump kicked things off by tweeting, “I love Goya Foods!”

Philanthropist Foster Friess tweeted: “Over the past few days, there has been an effort to Boycott Goya, so let’s turn this into something good:

BUY Goya Products.
DONATE them to Homeless Shelters, Food banks, Senior Homes
POST Pictures and encourage others to do the same!
