In response to: End Impeachment's Government Shutdown
The Hill

We are facing an impeachment shutdown - the road-blocking of all our government's institutions for an impeachment that is going nowhere. It will inflame passions, divide our country further and accomplish nothing of any significance.
The cast is now complete with shady characters, wronged bureaucrats and impeachment prosecutors preening for their close-ups on national TV.
As in 1998 and 1999, there is going to be a reckoning when this is all over. I helped to defend President Clinton when the country wasted time then on another impeachment that went nowhere. The president certainly was not innocent of all of the accusations, and he lost his law license and paid significant fines for his actions, but impeachment was rejected and his hold on the presidency affirmed. His ratings soared.
Like them or not, presidents uniquely represent the elected will of the people. As such, their removal is not just about the removal of a person but the overturning of that elected will. For that reason, there are few offenses that will be so grievous as to cause the party in power to give up their party's leader and convict a president; most charges, even if true, won't reach that high bar for removal. Clearly, the accusations in 1998 and 1999 did not meet that threshold, and neither do the charges today.

Whether eating out in NOLA , festivals, MARDI - GRAS , or just relaxing at night I am always reminded that we make the world we live in and that life is good. It's all Good :)
Years from now, when we look back, nobody’s going to remember Nancy’s cheap theatrics, like wearing a black dress while claiming the moment to be
somber as she announced the impeachment of the President of the United States, or using gold tipped and autographed pens delivered on a silver platter spending $100,000 in taxpayer money for those golden pens she stole from the government and gave away as souvenirs to sign over to the Senate the articles of impeachment, they will remember though how President Trump brought the Chinese to the bargaining table and delivered achievements few ever thought were possible.
They will remember that Trump continued to lead even though they unfairly tried to take him and the U.S out !
President Trump’s Approval Hits a New High as Senate Trial Begins On Thursday – the day after Democrats delivered impeachment articles to the Senate – Donald Trump’s Presidential Approval Index rating turned positive for the first time in nine months, Rasmussen Reports’ Daily Presidential Tracking Poll results show.
Overall, Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters either “somewhat” or “strongly” approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 47% somewhat or strongly disapprove.
Not since December 5, 2019 – the day House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Democrats would formally proceed with impeachment – have so few voters disapproved of Trump’s performance. As CNSNews.com reported at the time, Trump’s approval spiked to 52% and disapproval fell to 47%.
President Donald Trump has expressed that he wants a “swift” impeachment trial, but given the effects it has been having this far he ought not to.
There are SOME who actually believe him, maybe even thousands of thousands...
Life seems to operate in seasons. Some parts of life are like spring: new beginnings, a fresh start, a brand new job, or a creative opportunity. Starting things always feels so exciting, so invigorating, and so hopeful. The possibilities are endless...
How do you thrive during all of life's seasons ?
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Mitch McConnell felt bad for Nancy Pelosi after watching her get forced to impeach the president by the radical wing of her party, then impeach him and sit on the articles of impeachment for weeks. So, he decided to cheer her up a bit.
McConnell had his staffers deliver Pelosi a shirt reading "I Impeached The President And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt." Pelosi did not seem to understand the nice gift, pointing her finger sternly and lecturing the McConnell staffer: "Don't mess with me." Though her dentures fell out before she could finish her rant, sadly.
"It's the least I could do," McConnell said, a grin slowly spreading across his face. "I feel bad for the poor girl -- so much work on impeachment for nothing. Everyone needs a little consolation prize, a little affirmation. A participation trophy, you might say."
As an offended Pelosi held a press conference condemning the shirt as a "slap in the face," Mitch McConnell hurriedly confirmed hundreds more conservative judges.

...We've all been there. Just yesterday, I met a nice German professor of a science that one of our twins wants to study, so a great resource for exploring the field/opportunities/universities/funding. But God, in our thankfully then quiet cafe, I'm glad I sat across the largest table from him, as that breath could melt plastic at 20 meters. And how about those ex hippies, still living in their 60's Maine commune remnants, heating with wood, using composting toilets, and not bathing again till the pond warms up in a few months? Hassidic sized family in tow, and all sitting near my nachos! WHAT? Once, in more challenging times, while homeless and living in my VW camper and rarely, in homeless shelters, in one such shelter, a fellow we called Elvis (Hair died black, siddies, the glitter threads---even in winter---, and that plastic toy ukelele never far away) had a case of stinkfoot to rival even Bravo, after romping in the horse pastures. The ex hippie, au naturelle women are no fans of the razor or scents, ---proletarian PC. VERY PC. But I digress. What I have noticed, is that when I once worked in some of the poorest places in the world, such aromas were almost non existent, even in humid, drenching heat. Diet, lifestyles, genetics, my own nose? Perhaps some call me Fastidious Vierk. Rightly so.
